My grandmother was sent to this facility by her managed care team. Upon entering the facility you are greeted by modern decor, luminous lighting and welcoming staff, it feels like you’ve just entered a luxury boutique; please do not be fooled.Once you pass those double doors the smell of decay and garbage will stun you. The stained walls and roach carcasses only worsened my disbelief. It gets worse. I couldn’t find my grandmothers room and asked two nurses for some direction, they both let out loud sighs and dismissed me. I was able to find my loving, kind, sweet grandmother however could hardly recognize her. She was frail, thin, malnourished, disheveled, malodorous and unkempt ! This is unacceptable! This facility is getting paid to care for and provide my grandmother with quality care. I have reached out to her assigned social worker mamadou and informed her of my concerns, she rushed me off the phone faulting the connection and NEVER returned my calls and now ignores my calls. As a fellow social worker (LCSW) I am appalled at the lack of kindness, empathy, advocacy, and professionalism displayed by this social worker. I have filed a report with the state. This facility needs to be shut down. Please do not place your loved ones here for long term care.

My mother was admitted into Eastchester Rehabilitation and health care center on July 28 2022 after being in the hospital for a month. When she was admitted into the nursing home she was unable to transfer in and out of bed and a hoyer lift had to be used to transfer her out of bed and into a wheelchair. She was also unable to walk and had significant renal and respiratory issues. We were so impressed with how rehab, medical, respiratory, dietary, social svc, and nursing were able to collaborate together and put an effective and comprehensive plan of care in place for my mother. Additionally the recreation staff was crucial in helping my mother acclimate to the nursing home. The short term rehab unit was clean and bright and the nurses and cnas were friendly and kind. My mother walked out of Eastchester Rehabilitation and health care center on November 13th with all services and medical equipment in place. I am eternally grateful to every single staff person at Eastchester. THANK YOU!!

They transferred me from a perfectly clean room to a FILTHY unkempt room for which I was teased and slighted about the room. Apparently good clean rooms are reserved for short term patients under a certain period. After the move to a filthy room the clean room remained empty for almost a month! Instead of utilizing this time to cleanse the room they deposited me in, they left the room just as dirty as I was given it despite pleas to change these deplorable conditions during this time.

My husband was here since September 30th on a ventilator and he had a Trach in his neck. The nurses especially Ms. Johnson from the 2nd floor was absolutely beautiful. She took time to care for him and tried her best to understand him since he wasn’t able to make his sound when he talked. The CNA needed some extra hand on experience. Some of them was rude and didn’t any time with him. The others which was about 4 of them yes was absolutely Compassionate when it came to their jobs. The Respiratory Therapist did excellent jobs also. Especially Dorothy and Patrice and Fernando. God Bless all of them. Other then that they took time to understand him and work with him. For that I’m grateful. He passed away March 31st. Thank You Eastchester for everything.

This place should be shut down or everyone fired and overhauled. The neglect I've witnessed on the 4th floor of my family member as well as the other patients is abhorrent. If you are no longer passionate about your profession when it is care related QUIT.They have been reported and I will continue to call the regulatory powers until something changes.Do NOT send a loved one here unless you are able to visit super regularly and staff sees you otherwise your family member will be sat in a corner with NO actual care; maybe except the bare minimum or less.

If you are no longer passionate about your profession when it is care related QUIT. Non verbal patient ignored. left thirsty, filthy, fed cold food. when you complain it's a bag of excuses and don't dare ask for the social worker. visited over 7 days and never could find them. NOT ONCE. They have been reported and I will continue to call the regulatory powers until something changes. Do NOT send a loved one here unless you are able to visit super regularly and staff sees you otherwise your family member will be sat in a corner with NO actual care; maybe except the bare minimum or less.

The social worker does not know what size they have there. Lordy. There was a rude worker who didn't want to tell me. Got some monogramed sheets and a blanket for a loved one to make her eel comfortable there.

I was admitted into Eastchester Rehabilitation and Health Care Center on October 15th, 2020 after I sustained a fall and fractured my leg. I was initially very afraid about going into a nursing home. When I arrived the staff was very pleasant and friendly. The recreation staff allowed me to speak with my brother regularly via FaceTime and a phone was set up in my room so that I can remain in constant communication with my family. My physical rehabilitation went very well. The therapist were patient and very skilled. When it was time to plan my discharge my social worker set up home care services for me and a doctor to visit me at home. They also set up physical therapy and nursing services to visit me in my house. I highly recommend Eastchester for anyone needing nursing care or physical rehabilitation services.

I came to Eastchester on September 29, 2020 after undergoing back surgery. I was confined to a wheelchair at the time and I needed a lot of nursing and medical care. Eastchester's nursing and medical staff made me feel immediately comfortable and at ease. The physical therapists were patient and very professional. I am happy to say that on October 28th, 2020 I was able to walk out of the rehab center and return home.I can not thank the staff at Eastchester Rehabilitation Center enough for getting me back up on my feet.I highly recommend Eastchester for anyone who needs rehab for any medical procedures.Rev. Today August 4th makes one year since the passing of my mother, Madeline. She spent her final months at Eastchester. The staff was very kind, attentive and loving towards her. Staff members were in and out of her room all day checking on her and bringing juice, water and other things to keep her comfortable. They said she was one of their favorite patients. There was so much entertainment: bbqs, games, movies, music and more. The residents were happy and lively. Thank you for making my mother's last few months pleasant. Thank you to Horacio, Curvie, Priscilla, Inez and to the rest of the caring staff especially Ms. Negron.
