If you don’t want your “Destiny” to be baldness because of traction alopecia, avoid going to this salon. The owner Marcia did my hair extensions. She braided my hair too tight. When I removed my extensions, I saw the damage. I wanted to cry. I text her pictures; and to inform her about the damage she has done to my scalp & hair. I asked for a refund. Not only did she not hold herself accountable and apologize, she did not return my money. You can see my full review with pictures on Yelp. I hope my hair grows back and my hair follicles are not 100% damaged. Marcia didn’t apologize to me, nor refund my money, but GOD don’t like UGLY!

Marcia , who is a hairstylist and owner of Destiny Hair Salon, has been doing my hair sew in and wig hair styles or 8 years on and off. But , I will no longer patronize her business. I have hair loss and baldness from her braiding my hair too tight. All the times I've gotten my hair sew in, she has an assistant braid my hair and Marcia sew in the hair weft. This time she did my braids. For starters, I had healthy hair, and a full hairline before she did my sew in. I have not worn a sew in hairstyle in 7 years. I decided to try a sew in for my birthday. I came with my hair already prepped. I don't want to be in the salon for hours. I noticed she braided my hair thin. Also, she gave me cornrows and not a braided down style. I had a bad feeling already. I knew something wasn't right. Then, when I got into her chair , she said something about my light yaki straight hair being too thick. She told me , she will only add 2 bundles , because I have a small head. Instead of asking me, she made that decision for me. I just let it go. After sewing the hair on my braids, she yanks my extensions and blow dried the hair. The hair is thick and good quality. It was no need to use a blow dryer. A flat iron will make the hair pin straight. She was rough sewing the weft on my hair. I figured she is heavy handed. My hair was covered with a net. I thought the net would protect my hair from damage. I left the salon, my hair looked nice. However, my scalp was hurting. I thought , maybe it's hurting because I've not had extensions in years. I was in pain for days. It took me a while to notice my hair on the right and left was slowly popping out of my scalp. I saw the tiny white bulbs too. I got nervous , but I just thought I was over reacting. I started to notice my hair getting thinner. I checked the right side of my head. My hair was separating from my scalp. Eventually, took the weave out , because I thought " I'll have no hair left if I keep this hair in longer ". I had the sew in for 6 1/2 weeks. To my astonishment , I have traction alopecia now ! I wanted to cry and scream. I have hair loss and a bald spot. I had healthy hair and edges, before Marcia did my sew in. I said to myself, Marcia needs to know what she did to me ! Why should I suffer in silence !? I texted Marcia and sent her pictures of my hair and scalp damaged. I told her I was hurt , and sad. I can't wear my hair. I have to wear wigs until ( hopefully) my hair grows back. I need to know what I can do to make it grow back. She finally called me. Marcia , was shocked and surprised by my accusations. She said " I've been doing hair over 40 years, I have carpel tunnel , it looks like a chemical burn , it must have been the raw hair"! All excuses , for one , the hair wasn't raw! It is expensive good quality hair. I've been getting my hair done since I was a kid. I never got traction alopecia because of a hairstylist. She acted like I'm making this up. She is insulting my intelligence! I know my hair. If my hair wasn't healthy , I would NOT get a sew in hairstyle. Additionally, if my hair was unhealthy, a true professional would tell me not to do a sew in. She doesn't want to hold herself accountable for my hair loss and damage. I've been her client for 8 years. I always tip well and respected her. You would think she would apologize to me and offer a refund , tell me what I need to do to heal my scalp and grow my hair back. NO, she is shift the blame to me. She told me she can't talk , she has a customer. She will call me back. Meanwhile, the customer is all in my business. Marcia never called me back. Marcia doesn't care! She already got my money. I've read articles, researched online, watch videos about what caused traction alopecia. I showed another hairstylist and my best friend my hair pictures. They immediately notice the damaged was from Marcia braiding my hair too tight. Marcia told me " it's not traction alopecia, my hair will grow back. She said it like it&

Hands down the best hair dresser in the North Bronx area. She cuts without hesitation, weave lays down like your natural hair, wigs last for years, personality and presentation always professional. You will not leave disappointedI gaurantee that statement. Long, short, curly, straight, finger wave to die for, ponytails, weave, dye, press, Jerry curl, I seen it all done there to perfection. I will not go anywhere else.Services: Hair straightening

The Best Beauty Salon in the Bronx. The owner Marcia is a Sweetheart, she is so loving and treat you like family. I will never forget the first I came to her Salon she new that I had been laid-off from my job and did not have a lot of money and I was just collecting Unemployment. She did not even know me and did my hair free, she Perm, Cut and Style my hair and would not even take the money that I gave her for my Hair. She the Best ????♥️♥️
