A true and rare gem in the Bronx. Top quality, service and price. Mike is amazing. This is what a local business should be. Family owned and operated, multigenerational. Support your local family owned businesses. These type of businesses are what make the neighborhood great. If you buy your meat in a “super market” you’re buying junk. There is no comparison to the quality you get with Astor Prime Meat Market.

Post an otherwise this is by far one of the best butchers ever!! Mike is absolutely amazing and prices are great... Not to say the quality of everything isn't spectacular too; My family had a butcher shop as a child and I will tell you hands down you will not find better these days.. Places like this are gems and a dying breed..

This place is amazing! I move to the Bronx from Brooklyn 3 years ago and ever since I have been looking for a good butcher....I found Astor Prime Meat Market and I'm happy..my purchase today was oxtail, I was impressed with the cut and how clean the oxtail looked the fat was also trimmed perfectly. Michael the butcher shop owner is very nice. Astor Prime Meat Market is my go-to place now for chicken wings, steak, ground beef, sausages, and anything meat wise.

How lucky I am to have this wonderful butcher shop in the neighborhood! Fabulous, fresh meats cut to order. Spotlessly clean; friendly, warm and inviting. I am partial to the ground lamb and homemade sausage, and the incredible chicken and veal scallopini are the best I have ever had. Good selection of coldcuts, nice frozen salmon, fresh bread from Terranova... Astor Prime Meat has everything you need. I am pleased to support our local businesses! (cash only)

I gotta say, it was only my second time going there, but it will by far be my last. Really great cuts of meat, very friendly and welcoming store, great prices. If you happen to live in the area, or even if you don't, Go, don't hesitate, don't even give it a second thought. You will be missing out on something amazing.
