239 City Island Ave, Bronx“Came here with my husband on Sunday and it was so nostalgic for us. It took me back to my childhood and I enjoyed walking all throughout the house. Dan was really nice and chills and made us feel comfortable.”
“It was truly a wonderful experience at the Antique Parlor with Natasha and Shawn. I bought the most beautiful French antique ring. Aside from that, the authenticity of both the products and the owners are almost as rare as a diamond in the rough. An absolute 10/10 experience. (I'd even go as far to say an 11/10).”

“Biggie's is great! The owners are super lovely and run it themselves. Their dog, Biggie, is super cute. Often there's people playing chess outside- it's pretty rad.
Inside is a vintage lovers paradise, or more specifically, a vintage smokers dream. They specialize in refurbishing old lighters, ash trays, and smoking sets. Trust me, they're awesome. If you're not a smoker, they have old magazines, game sets, and old-style soda. If you'd like to become a smoker but are scared, they have candy cigarettes. Sick!
Anyway, I like to pop by whenever I'm in the neighborhood. You should pop in, too.”

“I had followed Salt Lizard on Instagram for quite sometime and finally had the opportunity to visit the store. The owners are incredibly friendly, the store is spacious with abundant natural light, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Unlike typical antique stores, Salt Lizard's curated selection eliminates the digging through dusty junk without having a "Do not touch!" vibe. The prices are within reach, offering a range of fine antiques from furniture to tableware and rugs. A gem for antique enthusiasts!”

“Incredibly special place. The kindest family ever has been running this shop for many generations. One of the family members talked to me about the history of the shop and his family and it was such an honor to hear their story.”

And what an improvement given the various choices she offered . And with a guarantee to come back if it fails/falls off.Def will be back with other beads in my vast collection. Go here first and only!!”

215 E 58th St 5th Floor, New York“Fantastic customer service, easy to order online, quick turn around time and a beautiful product!
I needed help ordering a lampshade for a vintage glass lamp I inherited from my mom. I had no idea where to begin so I reached out through Illume’s website. They gave me guidance in ordering the perfect lampshade! Thank you!”
“Very nice store with interesting pieces. Staff was happy to answer questions and were honest about additional costs if was to have my new bench delivered. I would recommend this to anyone looking for solid older pieces of furniture or décor.”
“home to several antique letterpress machines that still work, bowne triples as a museum, a stationery store, and a custom letterpress printing site. pay a visit to explore something esoteric alone or with other enthusiasts. journal prices are lower than those at competing retailers in the city: the midori md a5 is $14 at bowne. staff is very knowledgable about their inventory, services, and the history of seaport/letterpress methods to boot. some of them are clearly artists themselves - so impressive.”
“Coolest guy I ever met! Seriously Vieira gave my 10 yo son free coins to encourage him, and willing to share his knowledge with a little boy. How cool is that! Now my son is more serious in the hobby because of him, and I'd love to go back there and recommend this place to anyone into coin collection!”
“Incredible gem in East village. I came in to get advice on my meditation practice and the owner was very knowledgeable. He spent ample time with me providing deeper insight. They even have a meditation room. Can’t wait to visit.”
“I purchased some items at auction and due to some unique circumstances on my end I had to pick them up sooner than normally allow. The owner went above and beyond to communicate with me and accommodate my request so that I could receive my purchases in time. I was very pleased with the service as well as with the quality of the purchased items. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again!”
“I echo the other reviewers: wonderful store with a unique selection of quality products coupled with personalized customer service. THIS is what NYC should be made of, instead of chase banks and weed shops on every corner. The prices are a bit higher, but it's nothing crazy, and let's please remember that you get what you pay for. And if you want nyc to retain some of its character on at least one little corner in this city, please -- pretty please -- stop over and purchase something from this lovely little shop.”
“Nice stuff to look at but I came in looking for a specific thing and I got it! I was looking for a coffee cup and saucer and I found a nice one and the owner provided useful information for us. I think it was a good price for each set.”
“After finding this store online several years ago, and talking cross-country to Jimmy several times - it was such a joy to come and spend an hour or more looking at and trying multiple pens my husband and I were considering. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly - it felt like an hour spent with friends! We bought several items for ourselves and at least one gift!”
“I went in here & felt foolish living nearby and never coming going in. Sonam, the owner was very nice and even showed me how to using the scrying bowl(look it up & see what it does) they have lots of clothes from Tibet & surrounding countries. Best of all, it was all low priced & affordable. Lots of sculptures from miniature to very large in shapes of animals,Buddha and even Julius Caesar & Lincoln! Incense & their holders, sage, jewelry, crystals. But there’s too many too list and my pics didn’t capture everything. So drop by if you can you won’t be disappointed.”

589 5th Ave, New York“My experience buying an engagement ring with Kat from Erstwhile was incredible and the whole process was stress free from start to finish. From the initial meeting in the showroom, through to purchase and re-sizing she was super helpful and it was seamless. I looked around for vintage engagement rings but always kept coming back to Erstwhile. Is their jewelry more expensive than something modern? Probably, but their pieces are beautiful and unique and my partner is absolutely in love with her ring which is all that matters”
“Most astonishing antiqueshop I‘ve ever been! Really great, very well sorted pieces, the no.1 to go in NYC! And Bob is such a kind a friendly owner, thanx for the great service!”
“Any person into vintage and design has to pay a visit to Jarontiques. The quality and uniqueness of the furniture and collectibles is truly unbeatable. Their mid century collection is hands down the best I’ve seen. Sharan and Jaron, the proprietors, are so knowledgeable and super kind. The experience is so special, you’ll literally want to stay all day. One of a kind in every which way.”
“Kind staff, and super affordable prices. If you find yourself to be in the area, consider stopping in. You won't regret it! Great selection of quality, true vintage clothes, as well as accessories and furniture.”

116 E 59th St, New York“This bookstore found me. And every since then it’s been calling me back. I walked in and was met with the smell of the alphabet and maps from every country in the world. I was allowed to peruse the first floor without being pressured and that felt good because walking in can be intimidating.Everyone there was helpful and I was directed to the second floor by means of a turn of the century elevator. Maps on this floor were organized smartly and you must ask for assistance before taking them off the shelf.I would encourage you to check out their website so you have an idea of what you are looking for before arriving. They also have volumes online that may not be in store at the current time but they have access to from their warehouse.”
“Six years ago, during a visit to Cuba, I came across a breathtaking pen and ink drawing of an elephant. The artist meticulously rolled it into a tube, ensuring its safe passage and storage. For years, I protected this magnificent piece, unsure if I had a wall long enough to display it properly. My search for the perfect framer led me to the incredible Beverly.
With her gloves on, Beverly carefully unrolled the drawing, treating it with the utmost care and attention to detail. Her artistic gifts and profound appreciation for art were evident as she began to envision the perfect framing for this piece. Beverly's thoughtfulness and expertise are unparalleled. I have found the framer I will turn to time and again.
The elephant has finally found its new home. Thank you, Beverly!”

I felt so welcome and had such a nice time learning about their antique ‘found’ pieces and these beautiful white candlesticks I had my eye on! What a great way to end my NY trip!”
“Lawrence was very kind and did a phenomenal job re-wiring my Art Deco chandelier. It was done very professionally and quickly too. I highly recommend him for antique lighting re-wiring / repair! This guy knows his stuff. Thanks again”
