“This is a great addition to Bergen County. The staff were awesome, friendly and most importantly knowledgeable. The lounge area is warm inviting and comfortable. They have an offering of signature cocktails, I went with a classic old fashion. They nailed it. We ordered the hummus and a flat bread with porcini mushrooms and onion. If you are reading this you are interested in this place I can tell you it is worth it. Enjoy”
“An absolute gem hidden in the heart of Chauncy square. What makes this my go to liquor store is the knowledge, professionalism, and friendliness of the owners. They are always recommending bottles that seem adventurous to the palette but are worth taking the risk!! I learn something new each time I go in whether it be about the wine, vineyard, grape etc. Go check them out!! You won't be disappointed!”

(Which wasn't the case with the other company who will go nameless. :-( ) I ordered the wine the next day, online (seamless!) and it was delivered exactly when they said it would be. “Full disclosure: I've only placed one online order with Bottle Grove, so I can't speak to the experience of shopping there physically. But what an excellent experience I had.I placed an order in late August 2023. Within minutes, I received an email from Chris that the following week would be too hot to safely ship wine, but that if this was an urgent order, they could make it happen. I never would have thought of this, and never would have expected a vendor to put this much thought into their fulfillment. I accepted their offer to hold shipment until the weather turned around, and received a follow-up note confirming the bottle was gift wrapped and shipped (with tracking number provided!) from another member of the team, Matthew.Bottle Grove is doing customer service and fulfillment the right way! “Very nice place. Great Job on the latest renovations. Simply because of renovations they had closed but it was worth it the interior looks great. The variety is unlimited and they have all the groceries and beverages that you could ask for. Also in the summertime they had a soft ice cream machine up and running which was very good. Joe, Heidi, Stacey, and Michelle are there to give you the scoop on these spirits from across the globe, and most times will have an open bottle to sip and try for yourself. “Thierry, the owner, is incredible who has a contagious passion for wine.. I’ve had a hospitable experience at every visit. This place has a fantastic, diverse portfolio of international wines at great price points. (I’ve noticed I’ve been ripped off by some other local purveyors and shops who apply silly, unfounded markups… they shall remain nameless but it’s terrible!) I LOVE their detailed notes on each bottle and the care they take to do their research. It’s really clear to see this spot was opened with real dedication. Calling from far away it's always challenging to know and trust reviews. Well, I called LeVino and the reviews are completely accurate. How answered the phone. He was friendly and super helpful providing advise on wine selection and helping with delivery. He sent a picture of the gift and the receipt. “Think of River View as your friendly neighborhood wine store. Place is decently sized with a skew more towards wine than liquor. It's also catty-corner from a parking lot which is damned convenient. My favorite part about it is the owner; he's always there, knows his stuff, and is a genuinely nice guy; if I had a nickel for every rude person working in a liquor store, I'd have a f*** of a lot of nickels. Prices are very reasonable too, especially for a place paying rent on Main St. Main drawback here is that the selection could be a bit better. They are more focused on curating a good list of alcohol options than a large list of alcohol options. If you come here expecting a massive selection you'll be disappointed, however if you just come with a general idea of what you want/asking for a recommendation, you will be happy.”

“Congers Wine & Liquors gave me extra special service. I live in NC and needed a bottle of liquor delivered in New City. When I called them, I spoke to Mike who took the time to listen to my needs, was extremely gracious, professional, and took care of everything for me - the bottle, the wrapping, the note to go with it, as well as the delivery. Everything was done on time, as promised, and Mike kept me appraised every step of the way - he is the personification of customer service! This was not a large order; nor probably a very profitable one for the store; but they treated me as if I had ordered several cases of expensive liquor and for that they deserve kudos. While I'll probably not be a frequent customer as I am hundreds of miles away from the store, I hope this review finds an audience near to Congers that will read it and give them a chance to serve their needs. I recommend them (especially Mike) highly and thank them for taking care of my order is such a wonderful manner.”
