“I went specifically here due to reviews after being told my save the dates for my wedding were too thick with a wax seal to mail by other post offices. I was so close to having to open every single envelope and do it all over again. Until I went here! The clerk Danielle was so helpful! She made sure I had the right stamp that way it will be hand cancelled and won’t be an issue when mailing. She was so polite and even ran to make sure my postage made it on the truck for the day! I can’t thank her enough! She saved me HOURS of my time and HOURS of my hard work! I will definitely be coming back to Oakdale post office to send out my wedding invites! :)”

“This is my hometown. This is the eagle as we call it. Flaps its wings on the hour. It hasn't worked and I don't even know how long like 40 years? I can't remember the last time it flapped I think it was in the '80s sometimes and it wouldn't even flap on the right time at all or even consistently during the day night or whatever.
So they just fixed it. It's all beautiful and I wanted to go down and take some pictures of it and just be in that space again.
It's such a beautiful post office. Probably one of the nicest ones on the island for sure. Especially with its unique eagle.
You did such a good job restoring it It is absolutely gorgeous. I didn't even see it in the best of light but it is magnificent.

I don't know English very well and despite this, they solve all my needs and problems. I don't write that sharing names is prohibited, but I thank the entire team individually. “The lady at the desk I forgot to look at her name but she was very polite, professional and kind. My family and I went to apply for passports for my kids and we had gone to the one in Centereach and they were not helpful at all. I booked an appointment the first time and they didn't help me bc they said the appoitment was supposed to be earlier but I got there on time but didn't know I had to fill-out applications first made another appointment and got there on time there was a line and then they said that they couldn't help me bc the pictures were not supposed to look like that that the hair had to be down, they found any excuse to not help and that they were busy that day to book another appointment for another day even tho it was only 9:30am so I went to this one in CI and they were the best of the best.”
“I always ship my packages from this location. I have never had a problem. Great staff and Great service. Sometimes there is a line but, it goes quickly. There are plenty of parking spaces in the lot.”
“Postal workers here have always been polite and helpful; however, Jesse deserves special mention:
We were expecting a shipment of live chicks. Tracking the shipment, we discovered that it had been delayed at Jamaica and was scheduled to be delivered the following day instead -- Obviously not great for live baby birds.
Jesse helped investigate -- and when they arrived later in the day, he drove them over to our house personally to deliver them!
(FYI, for those who don't raise chickens and wonder how they can survive the trip: Before they hatch, chickens absorb the remains of the yolk inside the egg and use it for nutrition/hydration over the first two or three days. A heat pack is added to the box to help them stay warm, and obviously there is special care in handling and delivery.)”
“I love the convenience and location of this post office. You can easily find parking and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. There are off peak times, when I have been in and out for a few minutes. I’ve gone in and done returns and they even scan QR code so they’re pretty high-tech. Highly recommend this location.”
“The woman at the front was extremely helpful to me. She made sure i had properly filled out my passport paper work and that i had everything I needed. She was extremely patient, helpful and kind. It was about 5 mins to close by the time i left and she was nothing but kind to me.”
“This post office is great . James was super helpful and took his time to help me with my questions and prices . Going to the post office can sometimes be an anxiety inducing process. But this location is very cozy and usually isn’t packed with a line . I’d recommend going to this location if you are in the area for your postal needs. Once again James who was working the front was totally chill.”

“My first visit here was a good one, and when I have a good experience I like to let others know. Especially when most visits to USPS locations are usually not the most pleasant. Not this day at this location though! So let's celebrate, I was in and out in a couple minutes. The lonely gentlemen behind the counter just received a huge order from the customer before but it didn't take long at all(a minute most) and he was helping me with my few pieces of mail and off I went. Very nice...I hope you have a similar experience!”
“I prefer no other post office but Brightwaters. From day one, the past staff and current staff have been so amazing and provided excellent customer service. I love walking in and greeting Dee by her first name like a friendly small town thing. She also provided me with a lot of valuable info and instructions as I ship out often. Great post office, great service. I am grateful for them.”
“Small Post Office and Understaffed it seems every time I go there. Which is fine...its OK. There is always an older women there with short hair. Positive attitude and pleasant no matter how ignorant, arrogant and/or inpatient people are. SHE IS THE MVP!Also I have had issues with packages in the past not getting there when they should as of lately (understandable consdering the times) and tacking information not being updated on the website. I call the store with tracking info and they go above and beyond calling plants to find out where the package is and calling me back with updates!Staff at this store A++++ lucky to call them my local/home PO.”
“I'm constantly reminded that I should always come here any and every time I go to the Smithtown location.Never once have I had one single issue here in fact the service here is always very respectful and they go out of their way to be helpful and friendly. If you go to Smithtown you will most likely be greeted with the exact opposite service. Do yourself a favor, don't go to Smithtown.”
“One of my packages had gone missing, and I stopped by just four minutes before closing, fully expecting to be turned away! Instead, the manager went above and beyond. She took the time to open whatever she needed to and made sure I got the answers I was looking for. She was kind, professional, and incredibly determined to help. Thanks to her efforts, she was able to track down where the package was. It was then delivered to my house the next business day! It's not often you see that level of care and follow-through. Huge thank you to the manager and the team for turning a frustrating situation into a great customer service experience!”

“I had the best customer service ever here. I went to see if a package of mine had been delivered there for pickup yet, and Fred
assisted me. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He was unable to locate the package and I was about to leave. But as I was pulling out, he actually ran outside to let me know it was just coming off of a mail truck they were unloading. He went above and beyond to make sure I was being helped and felt satisfied here. Fred deserves a huge raise!!”

“I can't understand the negative feedback from others, but I find Northport PO staffed by the nicest and helpful window clerks. Sure, every now and then there's a line of 5 or more - just wait. It's something people are capable of doing.
If you people hate this place so much, go to the UPS Store and get charged 5 times as much. (They have lines, too)”
“Well, my story is this. I had an item shipped from a DHL e-commerce. I accidentally put the wrong address on the package. The address didn’t exist, but contacting the Huntington post office.. Speaking with Max and Deborah. About my issue they were so helpful professional, and actually called me back in a timely manner with people like this working for the United States postal system. We can’t go wrong thank you again Max and Deborah and The local letter carrier for helping fix my mess up”
“They helped me even when it was technically closing time. The lady behind the counter was great and quick. I will say they lock the door behind you if it's the actual time they close but as long as you make inside they will help you before they close.”
“I do a lot of shipping here, there almost weekly, and yes sometimes the wait is longer but I’ve experienced that at many different post offices- this location is different because they work very fast to make all transactions as easy and efficient as possible- I’ve seen the staff help people out and giving customers information to make their shipping cheaper- very patient and knowledgeable, this is my number one spot for my mailing needs- I’m being totally honest, they really are great here-”
“This is the best Post Office in Suffolk! Never a long line; the staff is very efficient. They respect your time, and know you have to get back to work. Additionally, they are always helpful and polite. If you picked the wrong box or there is better way to send it? They take the time to explain it. Plus the lobby is always CLEAN and smells fresh!”
