Today (August 26th 2024) at 4:20 pm I was trying to return an item to eBay.I walked in and no one was at the counter (No big deal) the gentleman in the back said he’d be with me in a minute. After some minutes go by he comes up and I explain I am trying to return my package.Instantly “John” gave me attitude “First off you put the package on the scale”Mind you it’s my first time in a post office.I reply asking how am I supposed to know that.John then slammed my package on the scale and scowled like I was causing him an inconvenience.I asked why the attitude and he stated I was the one with the attitude.I was fine until he disrespected me,I also mentioned how John’s one minute turned into me standing around for about five minutes unattended.John’s response to that was asking me if I would like to count his mail, clearly if I wanted to I would work at the post office.I’ve never met John a day in my life and it’s concerning how much hate he has.I don’t like being “that guy” but I’m wondering if it was due to my skin tone.Regardless,no one should be spoken to this way.Next time I will take my loss from eBay,I would rather lose the $100 than deal with John again.I truly believe John has forgotten he is a public servant weather he likes it or not.I understand people have bad days but his attitude towards me as a customer is unacceptable.

Writing because I've had enough life lessons from "John", the bitter old man who works behind the counter.
If you want snarky and rude comments about your mail from the unhappy employee behind the counter disguised as educating you on how the post office works, this is the place for you.
His name is John, and he is obviously tired and bitter from his career at the post office. When I entered, a women employee in the lobby even said that "John is in full force today". The fact that they seemed totally unphased giving a disclaimer about one of their abrasive employees says enough.
I guess I technically never had an issue with my mail or packages at this location, but I'm tired of the obnoxious and rude comments, and constant lectures about how well John knows the mail, and how it isn't hard I just need to try harder.
I'll be going to other post office locations from now on.

I run a side business so needless to say I am here a lot with packages to ship to my customers. Every time I'm here John or Mike never fail to put a smile on my face. These two go above and beyond to ensure stellar service and I actually look forward to my post office runs solely because of them. In fact, I once dropped my credit card in the post office and they made sure it got back to me. Now THAT'S unparalleled customer service. I love this location!

Honestly I have never had a bad experience with Blasdell post office. Alot of people are making comments about the older gentleman he is not nasty ...it is his sense of humor. He jokes around ! They are all nice people ! We all have bad days remember that when you have a horrible day at work and someone takes you the wrong way. Keep up the good work Blasdell Post office!

If I could give this place negative stars I would. When I went in to deliver a simple package I was treated with nothing but disrespect. As the old heavy man behind the counter was scanning my package he mumbled something about a stamp so I asked do I need a stamp? He then proceeded to scream at me saying he needs to ask his questions because this is a job if I know what that is. The disrespect and malice was absolutely mind-blowing. When I took the receipt from him he laughed and said have a good day tough guy. No need to be harassed or verbally assaulted or treated as a second class citizen, avoid at all costs. Seems to be a pattern of aggressive behaviors with no form of accountability from ignorant management.

If you call they pick up and hang up. Apparently they only accept calls when they feel like it. In another situation, i have had a family members mail forwarded. Unfortunately when they presented their ID, the clerk deleted the request instead of finalizing it. This is a highly lazy branch, and you should not expect quality of service on any level.

Had two packages to mail to Commonwealth of Virginia, two different addresses in the same zip code, both I have mailed packages to before. Clerk told me she had to have an email address to mail the packages. She said it was something new. I did not have email addresses for either of the recipients. So I had to leave. Went to a different post office in a nearby town. No one asked me for email addresses. I paid, the packages were mailed out. Bottomline is do not go to Blasdell. They do not know what they are doing there except making it more confusing for customers.

The clerk was incredibly rude to me and refused to answer any of my questions but was nice to the other people who came in after me. Extremely belittling and disrespectful to the point that I felt the need to ask if I did something wrong which he wouldn't give a straight answer to. Seems like he has a personal issue with young women honestly.

Thank you Blasdell Post Office. I have always had a pleasant experience when doing business. Today was no exception. I called with a concern, and it was handled expediently and professionally (Thank you, Kelly and my carrier - yes I received mail!)

A rude male employee came out of the back to confront me about dropping off a package. He wasn't even taking care of me. It was after a snowstorm and he was obviously upset that a lot of people were now coming into mail their stuff. Based on of the reviews here. It sounds like it's the same creepy guy who makes inappropriate comments to female customers. Why he still working there only the US government can tell.

Avoid at all costs. Employees are rude, and supervisor is useless. Witnessed the older male clerk yell at women on multiple occasions, thought he was funny. Very unprofessional. When you try to talk to the supervisor about it he acts dumb. Try to avoid at all costs.
