In our quest for all things "antique", my fella requested the pit stop. Shop was a buzz as they prepared for the auction happening in the next few days. Some items for "sale on the spot", others reserved for the auction. Tripping around this space felt like being in a relatives garage or attic and making one spectacular discovery after another. We happened to catch the matriarch of the company in-house and she filled us in on the history of this (newest) location. From wartime artifacts, continental delights, fabulous furnishings and everything in-between, my head was reeling from all the amazing and eclectic finds all comfortably housed within. The leather club chairs had my eye along with a fabulous fixture that I could envision in my foyer as a lovely "welcome home" statement piece. For now, my small little studio will have to keep dreaming but.... should my square footage ever expand, I certainly can find some awesome pieces to fill the space.

a great little auction space in the middle of Long island... Treasures to be found and purchased... and usually for a bargain. The staff is excellent....super friendly and helpful. if you buy sometging big, rememebr to bring someone to help you load it

Thos. Cornell Galleries is an auctioneer of fine antiques. I have found them to be honest and professional people who operate their business with a high degree of integrity. The reason for my low review rating is this. I purchased from one of their auctions through Live Auctioneers and when it was time to ship the item I was turned over to the local UPS store which has ruinous, predatory rates. Obviously, Cornell Galleries is soliciting auction business from far away and encouraging people in other states to bid on their items through the Live Auctioneers system. We have no way to retrieve the items except to have them shipped. With the local shippers, the shipping charge is likely to be more than the cost of your rare, antique item, even if it is small and easy to ship. The profit margin of these shipping stores has now reached the stratosphere. Unfortunately, I can no longer do business with this fine auction house if my only option for shipping is to be raped by the local UPS store. Please consider in-house shipping, and I will be back.

Buyer - Beware* lady owner was Rude speaking on phone and rude to talk with in person . The Deal i made was a circus act = secret conference behind a curtain with the husband and wife who run this show to figure out a price for me to pay for a piece of furniture i picked out on the show room floor. The End was a deal packed with Lies , greed , made up stories and a slap in the face with a extra charge for a buyers premium ?= we need to make money too ??? I heard their actual Auctions are no better with phony schill phone bid calls !!! Dont waste your time if you do youll be writting this REVIEW TOO !!!! ~ Junk man John
