“This shop is an easy five star based on their inventory, staff knowledge and overall great atmosphere to shop in. Willis Hobbies has been around MIneola since 1949. Not only have they been a fabric of the community but they always show their commitment to Mineola through their participation in Village events. If you can think of it.... You'll find it here. Plenty of electric cars, models (that go up to 2,000 pieces), lots of model trains and trains-accessories. The beauty of the shop is that the team here are experts. Depending what you're looking for will determine who you speak with. There is value shopping in a store that understands your needs and advices you accordingly. They always set up race cars at the MIneola Street to become more involved and engaged with the residents. In summation... there are good people here. KUDOs top the team at Willis Hobbies.”
“It is the week before Christmas and it was so sad to see how empty the store was. No music. It felt desolate. I was greeted & directed to what I wanted. I was disappointed to discover they no longer honor competitor's coupons. I bought what I needed & left. There was no atmosphere to make me want to walk around & explore.”

“I an artist and dancer. I love spending time in Hobby Lobby looking at all the unique products that they sell. It's an artist's dream space and dream place. All their products are of the utmost quality.I do wish they would bring back the furniture displays.Please build more stores. One of the unique things that I like about the store is that they are closed on Sundays which means they give reverence to our heavens above.”

I should have been given the correct amount for my St. Gaudins $20 gold coins instead of hearing about what you can sell them for and what your profit would be. I’ve never been told this before. I have usually gotten the correct amount.”

“Nick in the picture frame dept. Has been wonderful to work with. I brought him in a project I did not know in what direction to go or how to get it there. He has been working on it keeping me informed when needing update on this special paper I needed framing. Should be done this week. It actually is from a magazine that needed to be copied to be downloaded to print. Then figure the size we want. 2 tries. Frame, matte & is including a pocket for the original item on back of frame. My mothers handwriting on a poem meant for my nephew. She passed when he was 16. Now 23. I never saw before until 2 days before his college graduation last month. Crumbled up in a drawer. None of us ever saw this before. Knew it was for him. I fixed all the wrinkles.. Wrote out grandson when poem meant for granddaughter.. Nick has helped bring it to life. None of us ever saw this found in a drawer 2 days before he was to graduate. Original is going behind frame so he can see her writing. Nick's idea. So he'll have a framed memento from my mom a photo copy & the original sealed on the back.”

“They really took the time to sift through my grandfather's collections, explain what they were looking for, and why it was priced the way it is. They also explained that somethings are just worthface value or worth nothing. And they answered all my questions so I would highly recommend. If you have a collection of coins you want appraised, go to them. You should know in advance that they are mostly interested in silver if you have a really basic collection. They also have some unique comics, jewelry, and coins for sale too. So if you are looking for a unique gift for a collector I'm sure they have something in there for you as well”
