CrossFit Merrick is a family. It is a great place with plenty of personality. They coaches are great and many have become good friends. If you are looking for a place to build fitness and friends...must try.

Great place to get your WOD on. Very welcoming. Coaches help explain in detail how to perform movements to help prevent injuries.

I like that every day is different and that you can go at your own pace. I like that there are coaches to instruct you on how to use the equipment properly and will show you modifications.

If I can give no stars at all, I would! Worst Work ethics and takes advantage of members in times of global pandemic. I have my son enrolled and reached out to Audrey (owner) early March wishing to freeze my son's account due to CVOID 19. After giving me a hard time and trying to convince me to send him by saying that there are no CVOID 19 cases in their place- she said she will hold the credit. Suddenly on April 24th (while the place is closed) I see a charge of $119 on my account. Emailed Audrey to inquire about the charge since we are not currently using their (zoom) service- she said I didn't put my request of freezing the account in writing- hence she is unable to refund the money- even when I shared that I lost my job due to CVOID 19. While all other places are being flexible and courteous during these rough times and global pandemic, she is trying to take full advantage of her clients- insisting not to refund the money and not looking at the big picture of retaining her clients. We are not going back for sure! Shame on them!!!

My 12 year old sister was so excited to join this children's CrossFit class. She joined to stay active and build confidence, as she struggles in school with making friends with the other students and is oftentimes bullied by her peers. She arrived for her first day (February 16, 2019) was told she "doesn't have enough strength". My sister stayed emotionally and physically strong during class, then as soon as she was picked up she started crying in the car. Her confidence is broken, she did not enjoy the class and she felt incredibly discouraged by this and says she does not wish to return. The owner was actually the one who made this comment. The staff SHOULD be building young girls (and boys) up at this age, rather than discouraging them. These types of fitness classes are supposed to BUILD YOU UP, NOT TEAR YOU DOWN. ESPECIALLY in a class created for children. All my sister wanted to do was to try something new that might help her to build some confidence. I am shocked how the OWNER treated a 12 year old. NO ONE SHOULD SEND THEIR CHILDREN HERE.

Outstanding experience. Great workouts. I didn't know much about crossfit. I knew I just needed a new workout experience. I was going to the gym with limited results. So I thought I would try something different. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They were great in teaching me the techniques and movements, including some nutritional improvements. I started at my own level and they helped me tailor my workouts to my ability and capability. Im in better shape and feel healthier than I have in years.

Knowledgeable trainers and cool people. Great place to workout. I'm recovering from back surgery (spinal fusion) and it's the best thing to strengthen my core. I don't feel right without it. If you aren't the best at keeping yourself motivated but want results, give it a shot.

I'm giving this place 1 star for their lack of care and attitude towards customers. I just called to address an issue about their patrons being unsafe and not wearing proper attire while running haphazardly into traffic in pitch black darkness at 6am. I almost hit a silver haired fellow because he was in all black with no reflectors. I honked and he yelled at me and banged on my car with his hand. They need to be in reflective gear and aware of their surroundings they do not own the road and are a hazard to safe drivers. I then called them to report the issue, and make sure they addressed this with their customers. The woman who answered the phone could not have been ruder telling me "I must not be a runner" and that I had a "bad attitude" she really rubbed me the wrong way. Funny thing is is that I am an attorney and a part time personal trainer so I am well versed in all laws, guidelines and safety protocols of both lines of work. The rude woman then hung up the phone ON me and could not be bothered to address her facilities lack of safety protocol for their patrons. The man was running in the middle of the road in all black, does he have a death wish? Do the trainers there not care about their patrons enough to make sure they are dressed properly to do their workout? It is truly deplorable. The town and the chamber of commerce have already been notified about the incident, along with various other complaints from local residents in regard to this and their patrons illegal and dangerous parking on neighboring roads. There are so many other crossfit gyms in the area, take your money and go to one that cares about your safety and well being.
