The owner is rude as can be and doesn't even begin to understand customer service. I asked him nicely to look for a Chronicles of Narnia book that was for children, and he told me he wouldn't do it because it was a waste of time and I should just buy it on Amazon. Go anywhere else and do not support this jerk.

I’ve been going to this shop for decades and have sourced some of my favorite books there. Worth the trip!

Place is run by a senior woman, books piled everywhere. Nothing organized as far as kids'books, biographies, mysteries, etc.

Truly a booklover's paradise. Piles and rows of books, books on the floor, books stuffed into shelves, books everywhere. There's that dusty smell, like a store of well-loved books. Different editions of well known books, as well as rare books you've probably never seen before. Prices are very reasonable. It's rare to find a bookstore like this out here on Long Island, so this is really a great find for someone who really loves books. The owner is very helpful, he knows just which corner a book is in if you ask for it.

Owner was super rude. My friend and I drove 20 minutes to come to this used book shop. Upon entering I tried striking up a conversation with the owner. I am a polyglot and just began learning German. I asked him where he was from and he said that this is a question for a bar, not a professional setting. I told him that Americans are very interpersonal and depending on his language, I may have wanted to practice. He literally said, “goodbye” and opened the door for my friend and to leave. The worst part is that I wanted to make a purchase. Definitely try another bookshop.

We stopped in last weekend. Stupendous selection of just about any book or topic you could want. Unlike some other reviews, our experience with the owner was overwhelmingly positive. He was more than happy to help us find some books on niche topics, and gave kind and thoughtful answers to our questions. If you’re actually interested in books and not window shopping, this is the place for you.

Owner is kind, he took a list of books I was on the lookout for and called me whenever he ordered them to the store/found them for me. The prices are a little up there, but it is a second hand book store so I am happy to support the small business. He is a very knowledgeable man and he has an impressive collection, but it literally is packed from floor to ceiling with books!

I was so super duper excited to come into this so called “Booklover’s Paradise”, however this is so called Paradise turned out to truly be hell. I was charged 11 whole dollars for Franz Kafka’s “The Metamorphosis and The Trial” but, would you believe my shock when I opened the front page to see a 6 dollar price on the very front cover! Unless this can be rightly justified, I will never be stepping foot into Booklover’s Hell again.

This is a hard one to review, mostly because it's run by an old man who should be locked up somewhere and medicated. This store has the largest selection of stuff I've ever seen in a mom and pop store, but the guy has no idea what anything is worth! Not to mention, the place is the biggest fire hazard I have ever seen! There are books everywhere, from floor to ceiling and it is impossible to find anything! The owner will tell you that most soft covers are $6.50 and hardcovers are $10, and after telling you that, he'll want to know how many books you'll be buying and let you know if you ever plan on coming back you HAVE to buy something! There is stuff literally everywhere, but if you take the time to look on Amazon, most of it sells for a penny + shipping. I guess that's why there's so much stuff sitting on the floor collecting dust. I suppose if you can deal with grandpa and want to sit there sifting through piles, you might find something cool, but honestly who has the time?

Haven't been here in years, but very fond memories of this glorious establishment. It's like one of those old libraries you hear about in myths, history, fairytales, and legend (except you can buy the books and keep them!). You can find just about anything here, in all genres. Also has antique books from all different eras and whatnot. Great store, 10/10.

Amazing collection and fairly priced. The books are covering the place like ivy. You could spend hours here going through everything. The owner was kind and thoughtful.

Who on earth gave this guy 4- or 5-star reviews??? Anyone that's been there, and isn't shilling for the owner, left the store either shaking with fury, or shaking on the verge of tears! There is nothing quite like it.

Amnon is as lovely as the books he sells. I love just looking wandering the aisles. You always find something new. It’s very peaceful in there. Definitely worth coming to and supporting. Books are adequately priced, it’s Long Island. Love this place x
