“The best customer service! When something on my airbag vest didn't look quite right after replacing the cartridge, they took it right back and replaced it, no questions asked. In fact, they even overnighted a brand new one to me in time for my lesson the next day! Truly impressed and grateful for this amazing shop and their lovely team! Thank you horse connection!!”

“I had a fantastic experience at The Athlete's Source, a small sneaker store located on High Ridge Road in Stamford, CT. I was in search of a new sneaker for weight training, and I was fortunate enough to receive exceptional service from Bob, one of the store's employees.Bob went above and beyond to not only assist me but also educate me on the type of sneaker that would best suit my needs. He took the time to understand my requirements and preferences, and he even suggested that the store's current selection might not be the right fit for me. However, he patiently walked me through various criteria, and together we found the perfect shoe that met all my requirements.I must say that I have never received such outstanding service when it comes to purchasing sneakers. I highly recommend anyone in search of specific sneakers to visit The Athlete's Source. You can expect nothing but exceptional service from the knowledgeable and friendly staff.Once again, I want to express my gratitude to Bob for his superior service and the valuable education he provided during my sneaker shopping experience. Thank you for helping me find the perfect training sneakers.”

“Earlier this season, I came in for a snowboard tune, prior to leaving for a trip to Colorado. I often tune my own equipment, but I had a bit of a scrape in my base, and it wouldn't easily hold wax, but wasn't deep enough for PTEX. For context, I could not have come at a worse time. It was mid-morning on a Saturday, right before there was predicted snow. Despite the shop absolutely being slammed with customers when I was there, and the fact that it is certainly (a little) more oriented towards skiers, I was happily surprised to not only be treated like a long time customer, but also have an experience that out performed every "board shop" that I've been to in my 30 plus years of snowboarding. Within literal seconds of walking through the door, I was politely pointed in the right direction, and an extremely professional younger gentleman was evaluating my board. He was very knowledgeable about my specific snowboard, as well as being able to gauge my level knowledge, and tailor his communication perfectly. A mild base grind was suggested, which was definitely the correct solution. Then I was asked where I was traveling, and we discussed cold temperature wax. At no point was I upsold in any way. The price was beyond reasonable, especially for being at such a beautiful, busy and high-end store. They stuck right to the price chart on their site, and may have even gone a little under on the base grind- regardless, it was about half of what I was expecting in Armonk. You can tell that they take immense pride in their customer care, and that is something that I place above everything else in ANY business. I cannot possibly recommend them enough, especially for tuning needs. I would imagine the service is potentially even better for skiers, if better is possible in this case! Seeing as I am bothering to write a review, I would like to address some of the (very few) negative reviews that I have seen, as I think they are largely from people who don't understand the business of winter sports. At least insofar as calling the shop "overpriced." They are not a gigantic, corporate only discount store, but I personally saw plenty of items that were marked down to extremely competitive prices. While I am personally not currently the most likely to buy my next snowboard there, that is based solely upon the understandably small, mid-season stock, that was present the two times I popped in. I would love to send my business their way in the future. I am simply at a point, where I hunt down highly specific boards, and no reasonable person can expect a local business to carry every board, just to please gear nerds like myself. The selection of snowboards that they did have, were all excellent choices for the almost all riders, and all from quality manufacturers, at perfectly reasonable prices. To my recollection, I saw nearly every commonly purchased Burton model, a nice selection from Jones, as well as a few other brands, that allude me at the moment. So, could you get some of this gear for less online? Obviously, but they are absolutely not trying to trick you. The price differences are minimal, at worst. If you can afford to pay JUST slightly more, to support this wonderful local business, I would posit that this will yield a drastically more positive and personalized experience, particularly for someone who might need some help selecting the right equipment for their evolving needs, and/or skill level. Lastly, I would definitely suggest looking into their seasonal rental program from everything I saw, heard from others, and have read online. What really makes me confident in my recommendation, is that they are not going to take advantage of your potential lack of experience or knowledge. It is categorically NOT their business model. This is a place that rightfully earns return business, by making customers feel welcome and valued. Winter sports can be daunting to dip your toes into, and the financial barriers to entry are not insubstantial, across the board. However, I would recommend simply walking in”

“Needed some hardware for my bike and got some great personalized service, which is a standard at this great hardware store. Beware of the hoses though. The one I bought kinked like nobody’s business!”

“Have been working with Bruce & Carolyn for almost 8 years, and they have been nothing but fantastic to work with. Over the years they’ve helped us with jackets, sweatshirts, hats, masks, polo shirts, rain jackets and more. Highly recommend!”

“My son plays college league baseball. He needed to get new bats along with batting tape. He was having a difficult time finding someone to help him with the batting tape as he wanted it to be perfect. We googled sporting good stores and had our first visit to Mt Kisco Sports. Rob the owner was so gracious with his time and patience to help my son. Really appreciated the personalized experience instead of the chain store that was completely unhelpful. Thank you Rob - you made our day!”

“In response to the previous post.... This store is geared toward baseball and softball. They will help you select the right gear for you or your child with a level of experience and expertise that is well worth the slightly higher prices you'll pay over big box stores. We have bought many gloves, bats and apparel here, they guide to the right glove and will break them in for you. I have also had a few gloves restrung there with amazing results. Good gear is an investment, make sure you buy from someone who knows the game and takes the time to learn about the player. For us, it's instant replay.”

“I happened in here because the dress planned for an upcoming wedding didn't fit any more (must have shrunk ?). Robin asked some questions and immediately pulled five or six real contenders out of the racks. She gave honest advice, zipped and unzipped both me and a woman in the next dressing room, and applied ZERO sales pressure. I left with two choices and my partner liked them so much he advised me to keep both. What a terrific place! I'll be back. Thanks, Robin!”

“This place is packed to the gills with some really cool clothing for a smaller locally owned store. Yes, prices are what they are but the stuff they sell is often high end. Yes, this isn't Target with mediocre clothing that might cater to a lower income clientele. Squires is where one might go to get some nice ski clothing or a special gift. We should support local stores so we don't all end up looking the same in that big box Costco style Poopwear. And frankly, the prices are right for what they sell. I have found that you can get stuff at a reasonable price. As for hovering salespeople, they are trying to be helpful and all you have to say is that you are browsing and you'll let them know if you need help. The store is big enough that you can ghost the salespeople if you prefer to be left to your own devices.”
