“The Bedford Hills Nursery is located opposite the Saw Mill River Parkway on Route 117. I walk this beautiful path several times a day, often passing this nursery. They offer a nice selection of flowers, plants, shrubs, and trees. Everything I purchased and planted is alive and flourishing in my yard, and I look forward to seeing next spring. The staff here are welcoming and helpful. If you need a plant as a gift when visiting others, you can stop in and select something pretty. Right now, pumpkin vines have emerged over the fence. I keep hoping one of the flowers produces a pumpkin welcoming the harvest season.”

“Since the reviews here are from a few years ago we weren't sure it was open, but we went yesterday and indeed it is. We spent a good long time talking with the owner. It's such a unique place. There are some unusual plants and trees, plus the more conventional stock. Since it's the end of the season, plus we've had a drought, it could look a little bedraggled to anyone looking for polished rows of plants, but to a veteran gardener it's clear what's there. Plus the owner was generous in his advice about what to plant now. He also has a passionate interest in wellness and is eager to share his knowledge about mushrooms in particular. He doesn't sell mushrooms, but it is an interest. We will definitely be going back. He does landscape design, but this is also a retail nursery.”

“I've been a customer for years. The landscape guy is great and the workers who do the tree or shrub planting do an excellent job. They have a large selection of perennials and annuals. Their prices are a bit high and some of the people who work in the shop can be a bit unpleasant.”

“I went in mid-May 2023 to get a few vegetable plants. I have been gardening for over 50 years and have never experienced what I did with plants from Maple Grove. I bought 2 tomato plants (one for cherry tomatoes and one for supersonic (medium sized) tomatoes). I put each plant into its own raised bed, thinking there would be room for other plants. Each one is 4' X 8'. I added 3 cucumber plants to one bed and a pepper plant to the other. These plants took off like nothing I've ever experienced. I've so far harvested approximately 40 cukes from the 3 plants and over 100 cherry tomatoes from the one plant and many more are on the way (it's 9/4/23). The supersonic tomatoes are enormous and should be ripe later this week or next and are looking great. When I shopped, I had a few questions and was helped by a young man working them. When I checked out, I paid w/ cash and the young woman was very helpful. I had no customer service issues whatsoever, notwithstanding what I read in other customers' posts. Maybe I got lucky. The prices were high but the quality was like nothing I've ever experienced. I've marked my calendar to return next May, cause I don't need another nursery, if they continue to sell plants of the same quality. I won't be buying the cucumbers again because the smallest they offer is a pot containing 3 cuke plants and it's too many for us. Though, I have perfected a pickle recipe! Will be going after zukes, tomatoes, and whatever else looks good. Can't wait to return!!”
