If I could possibly leave a zero star review, I would. A truly horrendous experience, particularly on the level of communication. From the beginning of my cat's overnight stay to the next day, I had to chase doctors to get what turned out to be a very unclear explanation of my cat's prognosis, and most of the time spoke to vet techs, which is unacceptable, as far as I'm concerned. If your human loved one was in the hospital, would you want to speak to a nurse, or nurse's aid instead of a doctor, in order to get critical information? I don't think so. My cat was sent home with medication that she had a very bad reaction to, and when I called to try to get an alternative to this medication, one of the vet techs I spoke to on the phone actually told me that if I couldn't manage to administer the meds, I should think about putting her to sleep. Really? This is who you have working with animals and interacting with worried owners? Unbelievable, and I only wish that I had gone elsewhere. This treatment cost me nearly $3000. I ended up bringing my cat to another facility where she was diagnosed and the doctors actually communicated with me.

I took my dog here after she was diagnosed with cancer. On the first visit, my dogs oncologist, Dr. Chin, detailed all possibilities of treatment in such an easy to understand way. I left that consult feeling confident about having my dog treated here. And 3 months later I can say that they exceeded expectations.I have literally zero complaints after about 10 visits for chemotherapy. Reception, support staff, Doctors... they all treated me and (more importantly) my dog with kindness and respect.I'm sure it depends on the doctor or the type of visit, but I never had to wait longer than what I was initially told (that's big deal to me. Who likes standing around forever?).I can't recommend this place enough. Especially Dr. Chin and her team.

We took our beloved, delicate 16 year old female cat to simply have a blood test and an ultrasound. They took her in the back even though she was clearly afraid of the male Dr. [Dr. Heuter] who showed no compassion and we were surprised since we had met him a year before for another cat. They brought her back after nearly an hour and announced that she had jumped off the table in the back and tried to run from the Doctor and the HORRIBLE Vet Tech [Carla] who chased our frightened cat with a towel and used brute force on her. We wonder if she was hit, struck, and/or wrangled with such careless and negligent handling that she was seriously injured and had her trachea either damaged/injured and if she had a heart attack that went undiagnosed and unnoticed. OUR CAT WAS BLEEDING AND DROOLING OUT OF HER MOUTH AND WITH EYES DIALATED AND HUNCHED OVER TRYING TO BREATHE WITH HER MOUTH OPEN WHEN THEY BROUGHT HER BACK TO US! She was clearly in distress, but they downplayed it as "she just need to calm down." The patronizing and unprofessional behavior was shocking. A long story short, our beloved "Jewel" of a cat, whom we cherished and only wanted the best care for, died in my arms the next day. THIS IS CRIMINAL AND MALFEASANCE, MALPRACTICE, AND WHAT ANYONE WOULD SEE AS A HORRIFYING TRAGEDY.

This place only wants your money. Simple as that. They won't even take a look at your pet no matter what is wrong unless you slap down hundreds of dollars. They will come back with estimates that will shock you no matter what is wrong with your pet. AVOID at all costs. Go to the Animal Health Center 24 Hour Emergency in Briarcliff instead. I'm shocked this place stays in business.

Beware of signing an estimate for 24 hours or more of care especially when it seems overly expensive. The facility admitted our dog for a brief stay to stabilize her before moving her to another facility and instead kept her there for another 24 hours in order to charge for more services itemized on the estimate.

Our experience here was terrible and even has us questioning why our vet referred us here. We waited almost four hours to have our cat seen. I understand it's an emergency facility and that pets need to be triaged appropriately, but the absolute lack of communication from staff is frustrating. Not once did anyone give us an update or approximate time we might wait. While in the waiting area we overheard a receptionist having an argumentative phone call with a customer, I understand it might have been a total Karen on the phone but maybe take the call private or at least shit talk the customer in the back. When we walked in, our cat was immediately taken from us and we assumed was being seen(mostly because no one explained anything). Nope, he was actually just sitting in his carrier in the back for over an hour. We eventually were given a private exam room to wait in because I was struggling to not cry, and that was when our cat was brought back to us only because we requested him. Had there been more communication here, we would have happily waited in the car as our cat would be less stressed waiting with us. When he taken back to see the vet, he was back there for over an hour and I have doubts that he was actually examined for more than 10mins.When we finally saw the vet, it was incredibly clear that she hadn't even looked at the records our local vet had sent over and that we had confirmed with staff that they had received. To wait over three hours and not even bother to look at the records is just ridiculous, and also bad medical practice. While we ultimately left with an updated treatment plan, we also left completely exhausted and stressed by the experience. I understand a trip to the emergency vet is unpleasant but the way this office is run makes it unnecessarily worse. A little compassion and communication goes a long way.

Dr. Heuter is a competent, clear, and justifiably confident specialist. He has been treating my 4.5 year old Bernese Mountain Dog, Hank, for advanced Inflamed Bowel Disease and Protein Losing Enteropathy. A complicated disease that crashed down on us with little warning. Dr. Heuter is a practical scientist. He's direct with his approach. He seems to have my beautiful boy's best interest at heart. The office is quite busy - that is a good sign. Dr. Heuter has been patient with my frustration as we try different ways to manage this disease and keep my Berner happy and thriving for the time he has left. The money, heartache, and confusion surrounding disease in a beloved pet is overwhelming. I for one appreciate Dr. Heuter's calm, concise, and knowledgeable ways.

I couldn't be happier with the treatment my cat received from this facility. They saved his life and maybe a hefty bill, but anyone complaining should maybe just invest in pet insurance. Will forever thank the surgeon and oncologist st this facility. They are why my cat is still here today.

Brought my bulldog here for a bleeding fingernail after clipping, nothing serious at all. My dog was brought into a room for 30 minutes without us and a nurse comes out and says we had him in front of a fan does he do this a lot maybe it’s best you guys take him now followed by front desk buzzing the nurses over an intercom that payment has been made before he can be sent out from the back. I get my dog back in the car and he is literally on deaths doorstep gasping for air. I’m truly surprised my dog didn’t pass away, it took over an hour for him to fully wind down: Not once did they mention this to us while we waited. Wildly negligent isn’t an apt enough description. I almost had my dog die over a finger nail bleeding. For 350 dollars they basically put cornstarch on his paw and let him get so worked up he was minutes from dying. Unbelievable.

Excellent facility in which I hope I never have to go to again but if I ever need to I know my pet is in Excellent care. They are all compassionate for all animals and I thankful for them. Thank you for all that you had done for us and our beautiful Nala. Fuentes family

If I could give them zero stars, then this would be the right rating. We trusted Dr. Heuter [male Vet] with our beloved 16 year old cat for BLOOD WORK FOR HYPERTHYROID DIAGNOSES and an Ultrasound test as she was losing weight and elderly and we suspected Kidney and Thyroid issues. The BRUTAL TREATMENT of my cat caused her such enormous Terror and Stress that she must have either gone into Shock or had a Heart Attack while she was in the back and tried to run and hide from this horrible Vet and the Vet Tech, "Carla," who are both robotic and totally without care or concern for the delicate condition of an ELDERLY, 16 year old cat! They brought my cat back to me in her carrier drooling with blood coming out of the drool and her eyes dialated as she WAS IN SHOCK and breathing hard out of her mouth with her tongue hanging out as she crouched in a very pained looking position. When I asked the Vet Tech what happened and my cat is now in an emergency condition from what I can see, she downplayed this concern [along with the Vet earlier] that she just "needs to calm down" and go home and relax. At no time did either the Vet or the Vet Tech ever show any concern for her condition. My beloved cat DIED IN MY ARMS the next day as she NEVER RECOVERED FROM THIS ASSAULT AND BATTERY TO HER TINY, 5 POUND, GERIATRIC BODY. Many Vets I have consulted since this incident on June 6th, 2023, have told me that since she did have Hyperthyroidism and was elderly the fear and brutal treatment may have caused Congestive Heart Failure which causes fluid in the lungs and they may have bruised or caused blood to flow into her throat area by taking blood in an aggressive manner from the jugular vein. Several Vets have ALL AGREED that this incompetent and aggressive treatment of any frightened pet "just to get the test in no matter what the fear level of the animal is" is WRONG and bad practice, no doubt. To add insult to injury, within 48 hours of our cat dying from the injuries she sustained at Katonah Bedford, we get some calls from the NY State Health Department and the Greenwich Animal Control with COMPLAINTS FROM KATONAH BEDFORD REPORTING THAT OUR ELDERLY CAT BIT THIS VET AND HE WANTS HER TESTED FOR RABIES! What? Our 16 year old cat NEVER went outside and was an inside-only cat. We told them to talk to our Lawyer, and we will be happy to keep them in Court for the rest of their lives and make certain this is all over the media everywhere. HOW DARE THEY CAUSE THE INJURY AND DEATH OF AN INNOCENT ANIMAL AND MOVE TO PUT THEMSELVES ON THE "OFFENSE." This was the final backstab from this wretched, Mars-candy-corporate-owned and money-grubbing, Narcissistic and Abusive "Hospital" that is a FLASHING RED LIGHT TO ALL PET OWNERS IN THE USA TO STAY AWAY FROM THE VCA! THEY CARE ABOUT THEMSELVES, AND NOT YOU, YOUR BELOVED PET, OR YOUR PETS DIGNITY.

I brought my 12 year old french bulldog in last night for breathing issues due to the humidity and poor air quality we've been having this summer. This was the second time we had brought our animals there. I cannot say enough about the amazing treatment my dog received. Dr. Ball was the emergency vet last night and he was extremely kind and very thorough. I called him again a few hours after we got home and he answered all my questions and put me at ease. Dr. Ball even called me tonight to see how my girl was doing and was pleased to hear she was doing much better. If I could give them 10 stars I would! Exceptional care and staff and I would highly recommend! A big shout out to Dr. Ball for being a caring and compassionate doctor! Thank you!

Dr. Z was wonderful, unfortunately saw her with 2 different pets in the same week and she was absolutely fantastic both times. Quick, helpful, down to earth, and a great doc - realistic and transparent with treatment recommendations. Couldn't say enough good things.

My twelve year old cocker spaniel was treated for a mast cell tumor during January through March 2023. I'm sure Dr. Chin and the surgeon did their best but the tumor has regrown, two more have appeared and I wasted $7,000 at Katonah-Bedford trying to treat my pet. With all your process, kindness and conversation, at the end of the day, my dog is worse. You folks sure saw me coming! I feel like a fool.patricia adamssomers, ny

Scam- The vet techs were kind to my dog- but their prices are ridiculous. Charged $200 just for the visit and over $300 for medication - I went on google and found the exact same medicine for barely $20. They hike up the prices because it’s Bedford, and I was in too much emotional distress at the time otherwise I would have brought him anywhere else. I even heard the receptionists talk about how they can’t believe some of the prices - do notCome here.
