BUYER BEWARE. I previously bought lamps from this merchant. They were just okay. Today I went to return a $400.00+ light fixture that I bought less than a week ago. THEY WOULD NOT TAKE IT BACK OR GIVE ME STORE CREDIT. There was nothing wrong with the item except that I didn’t like the way it looked in the space where I was putting it.I should have known better from the attitudes I originally got from the salesperson, Chris and the rude manager.They make a big deal about shopping locally, but they do nothing to make you want to shop there. I will tell everyone I know what a disreputable establishment it is.

On Tuesday I brought my 3-way lamp to Bedford Lighting because the second "step" had short-circuited! It was quickly and expertly diagnosed! And I was thrilled when the call came in less than 24 hours that the lamp was fixed and ready for pick-up. Thank you!!!!

I came by excited to purchase lights for our entire house as part of a complete home renovation. I made 1 statement: Hi, I'm looking for mini-pendant lights for my bathroom. Older male representative points up and says they are right above your head. Look above your head. I have eyes... I know where I am.He then tries to educate me on hanging light fixtures including measuring ceiling height. Thanks...but the tone used was off putting. Word of advice - try to be polite to customers even if you think we don't know anything about lights.I then specified I was looking for black modern mini-pendant lights. Maybe, just maybe, he would point me in the right direction within the store so I wouldn't have to speak with him anymore. He tells me I'm extremely limiting myself. Well thank you very much. Demeanor... absolutely rude. Poor customer service. Be better. 1 star just to get posted. Have a nice day.

I was stuck trying to find the right pendant lights for my kitchen remodel. This place was amazing from start to finish. They were so patient with me, helping me choose from such a large variety of lights and listening to my vision in great depth. They were transparent about pricing and timing and truly it was just a pleasure to buy from this store. Would highly recommend.

Old-fashioned family-run business who knows the business. I had a very heavy pewter chandelier that needed to be rewired after having attempted to do it myself with half a day of significant frustration.The woman I spoke with on the phone kept the shop open for me as I was going to arrive 15 minutes after they closed, to drop it off on my way to Manhattan. This was the first good sign toward a positive outcome.Shop owner and electrician Drew called me a couple days later to give me a repair estimate. It was of course costly, due to the huge amount of labor that I experienced personally - out of my ability to perform. I authorized the work, which he successfully completed, including a ground wire which had not been installed originally and a written caution not to exceed 40 watt bulbs.I did my own grand-finale smoke test, all bulbs lit, no smoke and I re-installed the chandelier without incident. In short, Drew saved me and my marriage.You’ll see a couple of one-star reviews that have to do with shop access or response. So I suggest, if you go there and don’t see anyone to greet you right away as I did, go to the back to announce yourself. Again, they don’t just sell lamps; they are very busy repairing them.

The service here is excellent. They are patient, offer you many excellent choices, and know the trends. If you are looking for any advice at all, you will appreciate coming here. They are true experts and a perfect example of why it’s not always better to buy things online.

Went in for assistance with ceiling fans. One other person in the entire store. I stood waiting for half hour waiting to even be acknowledged before walking to leave and then him saying hi. Don’t waste your time with this old man.

I’d give this place 0 stars if that was an option. My fiancé suffers from a condition and was in urgent need of a bathroom. The owner patronized her and asked her if she read the sign on the door. Than she proceeded to tell her to go to McDonald’s.
Your business is better off elsewhere. I am sure there are plenty of other businesses who wouldn’t even think twice to help. Especially the day after thanksgiving.

The same mask you weren’t wearing? If you are going to get political, at least practice what you preach.
What you did was completely illegal under NY State law. If an individual has a medical condition, you must allow them to use your restroom. You did the opposite.
The owners response is exactly the rebuttal we expected after our encounter.

First things first, if you live in the Bedford, NY area and need lighting, there are other stores nearby. RUDE, RUDE, RUDE!! "Rinky Dink" establishment that is lucky that they are still in business. Buyer beware!!! There are plenty of other stores with 25x the selection of this place. Salesman was quick to try to to judge the book by its cover! What a rookie mistake!! You never judge the customer by the way he is dressed. Salesman was totally rude and wouldn't give me the time of day. Little did he know I was looking to buy 4 Visual Comforft chandeliers @$3500 each for my builds!! Went to a much larger store in Bergen county and received a huge discount!! Stay away from these clowns!!! One more thing.......they are still "enforcing" their own mask mandate!!! LMAO. Yelp makes you give at least one star, but they deserve NONE!

I'm not one to post reviews, but Chris at Bedford Lighting went above and beyond for us. We outfit both the interior and exterior of our new home with them. There must have been hundreds of options that we went through together and they were patient, transparent with pricing, and had great recommendations. After meeting with a few other lighting stores, we found them and never looked back. Thanks to Chris for all of her help and expertise! We really appreciate it!Best,
