I am really glad I made the move from where I previously took my pets to PVMG (formerly CVA). The staff is compassionate and caring, which is incredibly important to a pet parent. They are professional and considerate and remember you. It seems this is true for most of the staff at their other locations, even over the phone, helping you make appointments at another clinic to get your pet in if they need more immediate service.
I would like to single out Dr. Frank DeFeis, who is one of the best veterinary doctors I have been to in the 30 years I have been a pet parent. He has treated three of my cats. One was originally diagnosed by two other doctors with cancer due to her nasal bleeding. Because I couldn't afford certain high-priced diagnostics (although the average market price for radiology across NYC vet clinics), he patiently tried various avenues with medicine and tests over a three-month period, and eventually, he found it was a bacterial infection, and cured it. My other cat, who does indeed have bone cancer, has been treated by Dr. DeFeis with love, kindness, and patience to keep him alive with quality of life while explaining everything along the way to me (and dealt with my quasi-hysteria over it). His use of herbology and acupuncture as well as traditional medicine has allowed me more time with my cat, and he has gone above and beyond to help a pet parent with anticipatory grief.
I cannot recommend him highly enough, and the office staff at both the Bayside site and the Forest Hills location have been incredibly compassionate. Thank you.
UPDATE:
I am also very grateful to Dr. Ottenbreit, who is also incredibly kind, caring and knowledgeable. She took over my pets' care when Dr. DeFeis moved to the main location. Her and Muhammad the main Vet Tech/Nurse (Veterinarian Reaident??) and the whole tean made my terminal cat's transition into spirit as loving and good a send off as one would hope. We put him to sleep yesterday, which is two months after my initial post. The staff were rooting for me and my pet family, and the tender care they gave us is forever appreciated.

My 15-year-old cat has been coming to Bayside Animal Clinic/Premier Veterinary Medical Group for wellness visits, shots, medications and care since she and her late brother were kittens. The staff is friendly, caring, concerned and efficient. Sasha and I highly recommend them!

We only wish we had gone there sooner. We have always had 2 cats until recently, we're down to 1 and he's in his twilight years. We used to bring our pets a long distance from home to get quality care but on one occasion we met Dr. Ottenbreit & she's a Godsend. The caring attention our cat has received should be given to humans. The level of expertise and compassion is unsurpassed anywhere we've taken our pets throughout the years. We thank all the staff for their gentle, caring touch at this wonderful medical group!!

My cat had started acting odd and being new to the Queens area I naturally started to panic. I was lucky to have found this facility because not only were they able to squeeze me in day of, but they were ALL such wonderful people. My kitty is old and particular, so she’s very vocal when she’s displeased. But they were so kind and gentle with her. I’m thankful they gave her the help she needed, and I now have a local vet that I can trust!

Excellent care. My dog Murphy was very ill and weak. They did comprehensive tests to diagnose him with a low platelet count, after only one day of steroid treatment he is greatly improving and getting back to his old self

Bayside Animal Clinic is absolutely amazing. Dr. Liss is our preferred vet. We will follow her anywhere. The vet techs are super friendly and professional.

Dr.Ottenereit is wonderful. He’s been coming here for the last 7 months for his rash. They test his rash right in the office & give fast results. She is very knowledgeable & I highly recommend her. Also they sell treatment medication right in the office so it’s convenient.
