all the five star ratings are from bot accounts with 1-2 reviews....listen to the lower reviews as they speak the truth...the lady who works here has poor listening skills...and therapeutic communication, which encompasses active listening is a MUST when dealing with patients...she'll just speak over ya without knowing what the heck it is you're trying to say....I'd avoid this place...hell knows they even bill the insurance companies correctly...this is another sad contributor to the american health care system.

I recently broke my leg and ankle and needed a wheelchair for the next 10 weeks. Janine was absolutely wonderful to deal with. She contacted the doctors office and got all the paperwork sorted out before I was discharged from the hospital so that my wheelchair was ready when I needed it. She continues to work with me for any other medical supplies I may need and is more than willing to get the job done. I couldn't be happier with her service and compassion

I have been dealing with this outfit for about two years and have had nothing but problems with them. I or my doctor’s office has to call them almost every month to see where my order is. Almost always an issue followed by a host of excuses. Shop elsewhere.

Incredibly rude. I went in for a walking boot, knee roller and crutches. I had three prescriptions and the lady said none of that is covered by insurance (without asking what insurance I have). Talked down to me. But I needed the items so I aid out of pocket. So when I got home I called the insurance company and they explained that all the items were covered and since i met my out of pocket maximum that all were covered at 100%! When they called over to this store to talk to them about it, my advocate said that she hung up on her. I will NEVER use this store again. I called after to ask about it and she told me the insurance company was lying to me.

I just wanted to say this establishment and the people who work there are amazing! Janine was extremely helpful, and she followed up with me a few days after my first visit, as she said she would. I highly recommend The Healthcare Store to anyone who is in need of medical products or surgical supplies.

I accidentally cut through the cannula hose on my portable O2 concentrator.Without a spare in the car with me this created an obvious problem.I arrived at this store and explained my situation, the woman assisting me gave me a new cannula and wished me well. No cost and no drama...just dynamite customer service.

I broke one ankle and sprained the other ankle a couple of days ago. Instead of Amazon, I try to shop at small businesses in my neighborhood. I visited The Healthcare Store, where I purchased several items, paid in cash and didn't receive a receipt. I called today to ask about returning an item that just doesn't fit in my bathtub. The person who answered the phone was absolutely abhorrent. She didn't even inquire as to what the item is, told me they take no returns, that it's my problem, should have read my receipt, and when I told her that I wasn't given one she stated "and what do you want me to do". Her tone and attitude were very rude and she hang up. When I called back I got the answering machine. The issue of course isn't their return policy, which is understandable, but the unacceptable behavior! Shame on them! Wish I could give minus stars.

I would like to thank the employees at The Healthcare Store on East Main Street in Bay Shore for their compassion, and generosity of their time and effort in assisting me with what for most would be a small purchase. They went over and beyond to see if I qualified for any medical coverage. I do not live in Bay Shore but I know Doctors and Social Workers who do and I will be raving about and recommending to them this store with wonderful customer service. Cee

This place is the absolute WORST! I had all the authorizations for the equipment I needed post-op and Janine INSISTED only they could get the approvals. Meanwhile the paperwork said "granted". The Friday before a Monday surgery Janine is not in. Person who answered phone called Janine who said she spoke to me yesterday - no, she didn't - they were still awaiting authorization. I called my dr's office frantic. I wouldn't be able to even get out of the car when I got home from foot surgery without this equipment!!!My dr's office called another store for me, faxed over the authorizations they had & the store called me in 5 minutes. "We have everything you need, you'll have it today."I'd NEVER recommend The Healthcare Store to ANYONE. They don't even deserve one star.

I visited The HealthCare Store today for the first time and was greeted at the door with a friendly smile. I purchased several items. I love the customer service. The person helping me in the store was Janine. She went the extra mile explaining the products and making sure I was satisfied with my purchase. She also helped me bring items to my car. This store had everything I needed to buy. I am very pleased with my products and the customer service I received.
