I was originally going to write this experience off without complaining, but I just received a notification that I missed my appointment so I guess we're doing this. I arrived in the parking lot at 8:50 am for my 9am appointment. Another woman went into the building two minutes before I did. Now, I could have gone into the building early, but I chose to sit in my car for 10 minutes. Why? Because I felt it was courteous since the place opened officially at 9am. As a fellow service worker, I figured it would be kind to go in exactly at 9am just in case my tax preparer wanted to finish his coffee/ breakfast/ etc.
Well, I wish I hadn't waited because the other woman who entered before me turned out to need tax help as well. Instead of asking her to come back because there was someone with an appointment waiting or letting me know that he needed time to take care of her and he'd be with me soon, the tax preparer just started a full appointment with her while I sat in the waiting area completely ignored. In fact, I got to hear a lot about this woman's family and business while I sat there for an extra 20 minutes. Even when the tax preparer went to scan her files he refused to say a word to me.
I work two jobs and am a full-time college student. I had to really carve out the time to be there at that tax office. I'm also quick, easy money for any tax filing service. I only have two W-2s and a 1099.
After being ignored for so long, I decided to leave, grab breakfast, and do some work on my thesis. I received the notification that I missed my appointment an HOUR later. So... it took him an hour to realize his 9am client wasn't going to wait for him to chat up his walk-in client while being ignored? Interesting. I would have had better luck getting my taxes done by two well-trained parakeets. At least it would have been far more productive than listening to a stranger judgementally gossip about how her brother adopted a "crack addicted baby".
So all this being said, yes I was present for my appointment.

Worst ! I made an appointment twice and they never respect the appointment time 7pm and it's 7:30 so I waited 15 to 20 more minutes!? I went with my son, my mother, and I left because I won't wait any longer. They should send messages to cancel appointments and not waste time

No surprises my butt, been going to bayshore office for 10+ years. I walk into office for my appointment that I made last year ,to find out my tax professional retired and this was a SURPRISE to the office staff. Those is SO unprofessional the receptionist had to scramble to see if any of the available preparers could prepare my level of taxes. You would think a company that does everything on a year to year basis would have taken the retired professionals appointment schedule and assign the appropriate person to take over their account. This saddens me because Mary Basso was the ultimate professional and I had nothing but great experiences for a long time. But this has seriously shaken my confidence in H&R block. NO SURPRISE GAURANTEEI don't think so

Okay here's the bottom line you want your taxes done correctly no one has time to deal with mistakes that will come back to bite you later on so stop procrastinating get the taxes done get over there to h&r block they are the ones
