I gave this supermarket one star because most of the time they have good prices ONLY on sale items. Everything else is very high. But recently I shopped there because it’s close to home. I wanted the hamburger and hotdog buns that were on sale. They had none. I went to the courtesy counter for a raincheck and was told repeatedly “WE HAVE NO RAINCHECKS”. I had never heard of such a thing—. I spoke to the Manager who was just as adamant. He shows me the bottom of the ad that was so small I couldn’t read it. When I got home it said, “We reserve the right to limit quantities… “but there was none to be had! Why in Baldwin must you travel 2 miles or out of my town to find a decent supermarket??

I live 15 minutes away, and the trip is worth it. The meats are reasonably priced. The produce is fresh. I spent $215 dollars and bought 5 different kinds of meats. I recommend going there.

Why is it in the last few weeks I have 1 green plantain in the bag of 5 turning yellow/sweet but the others stay green? This has happened my last 3 purchases. And I use them with 1-2 days. They are not sitting for 1 week+ . This didn’t starting happening until prices with from 10/$2.00 to 10/$3.00. What’s going on?
The stockers are friendly and super helpful, the cashiers for the most part are courteous. The prices on 80% of the items are overpriced but you are almost guaranteed to find what you’re looking for from atleast 7 different brands.
Navigating the produce isle with your cart is a pain especially at busy times. They could do a better job organizing their chip Isle. 3 separate isles for chips is wild. Anyways always fully stocked and clean.

Staff is rude and routinely don’t bag your groceries or even ask if you need one at all. Also can’t be bothered to not have conversations with coworkers while ringing you up. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Extremely overpriced, and they seem to racially profile ‘Certain People’ Otherwise well put together supermarket and it appears to have fresh produce and seafood.

It caters to the Caribbean market. They seem to be well stocked and quite clean. The prices are reasonable there’s even a fresh fish market.

Convenient supermarket where they cater to the locals and various nationalities.. prices moving up rapidly though, makes Fruit Tree feel more welcoming
