“Post offices generally give me anxiety and I try my best to steer clear of them due to awful past experiences. This time I had no choice as I needed to get my passport renewed and I had to ship out a return. Fortunately for me the staff here (Darvin clerk #38, and Yinney (pronounced Jenny) were actually the friendliest and most helpful post office clerks I have ever met in my life. Darvin even made some jokes that made me laugh and eased my anxiety. What’s more impressive about their amazing customer service is that there were only 2 people doing everything. It was obvious they were understaffed but that didn’t stop them from being nice to literally everyone. I see the post office has improved and I’m glad they hired these two really great people!”
“Incredible, the kind and polite treatment I received at this USPS office, the 2 ladies who helped us, my respects to them.
The Jackson and Forrest Hill Ofcs should learn how to treat a client”
“Both clerks were very helpful and personable. I was guided through the process with no issues, and am looking forward to getting my renewed passport in a timely manner.”
“I am actually amazed at how consistently excellent my experience at this post office is. The people working here are nice and friendly, they handle things efficiently as possible, they’ve always been helpful at explaining different options to me, they made my passport application go as smoothly as possible, it’s just a great location. Sometimes there’s a line but they handle it as efficiently as can be. Just really great experience here all around.”
“Had a package to send out to a mercari seller and the person there let me skip the line to get out of there more as I already had a label on the package! Excellent service!”
“After having a bad experience trying to get passports done at another usps. We came here to hoping to get it done. Gary helped us with a smile very pleasant and knows what he's doing. Had all our things in order very quickly.”
“Went there to submit a passport application. I drove all the way from Brooklyn because the reviews said this was the best post office to go to for passports. And they were right. The ladies were quick and helpful. They took my passport photo and had me out of there in less than 30 minutes. Basically the opposite of every Post Office experience I've ever had before.”
“Outstanding! The passport process here is excellent and completely different from other locations. If you want to receive your passport with exceptional service (which should be the standard at all USPS locations), I would recommend it 100%.”
“Larry was so kind in helping me try to track a package that went missing. He even took down my tracking number and called me back the next day to ensure we find it. Thank you!”
“I’m a regular here and can I just say, I appreciate the staff that works here so so much!!! Thank you Mary who always goes above and beyond with her Stella customer service! I am always greeted with her smile! :) Thank you Sean and Ozzy for always being so helpful with all my packages and PO Box. I appreciate you all! :)”
“Came here on a wing and a prayer to get passports for my children. I noticed a sign stating they were short staffed and were not processing any passports today. I decided to take a chance and ask. I was in luck. Marion told me he could help but he has to take care of the packages and mail first. And if I didn't mind waiting a bit he could help me. I was so appreciative. He was patient and kind. I'm so happy he was able to help us. Great customer service!”
“Always efficient service. Some people that work here are very sweet, others are less engaging. Sometimes there's only 1 person checking packages in. Hopefully they give their employees hours.”
“Could not access hold mail on the computer. I was heading back from Fl and called the Post office and the lady who answered the phone was very helpful in handling my request. She went out of her way to help me.”
“I want to express my great gratitude to the lady clerk who helped us prepare passport documents yesterday! Thank you very much for your patience and cooperation. She took some extra time to explain us the steps, we went through third party “rush passport”. Clerk explained us step by step what we should do and how to do it. We wouldn’t be able to complete it without her ! She deserves a raise for sure , people like her is a very rare thing nowadays, that makes you still believe in humanity !!!! She knows her job and loves what she does. Thank you soooo very much once again !”
“I love visiting this post office! Despite all the older negative reviews, I’ve foundthe staff to always be really friendly and helpful. Lines are long sometimes but not their fault.”
“I have always found my visit there to be short, and the staff always helpful, and courteous. On rare occasions, when the line is kind of long, it moves along quickly.”
“I always find the service at this location excellent. The people working here are friendly, informative, and work quickly to keep the line moving. Even when I arrive to a long line, I never have to wait very long, and the representatives working the counter are always professional and courteous, even when very busy.”
“I honestly don't understand why the reviews are so negative from other people. Coming from Brooklyn, this post office is a blessing in comparison to what I've dealt with in the past. There is usually never any rush so I'm in and out and there is also a parking lot as well. I've only dealt with two staff members who seem to be there regularly and they are both extremely helpful and kind. I've been mailing out everything from here the past few months and don't plan to stop in the foreseeable future. Keep up the great work!”
“The postal workers here are always friendly and helpful. My local mail carrier in this same town is awesome and very personable. I have never had an issue/problem with my mail and I’ve lived here more than 30 years!”
“Agent at the window was extremely helpful. She answered all my questions about mailing packages in a clear and patient manner. She was also offered me the best option for the best price. I usually dread going to the post office, but West Hempstead is where I’ll be shipping from in the future.”
“Tania helped me with the passport application for my 5 months old. She was really kind and friendly. Gave me the right information and helped me right away with the application.”
“Ms Raj and Soo was so sweet and efficient with my passport process. I filled wrong form and she was so kind to guide me through. Asked me questions patiently so she can figure out what I need and was so patient. Godbless! As I was exiting I hear a customer talking rudely to ms raj, I can see why some might have bad experience. Be nice to the staff and they will be nice and go above and beyond for you! They do accept debit cards for passport services. Thank you ms raj and Soo for your service at great neck post office! I appreciate it!”
“It's really sad when you see the USPS places get such low ratings. I get both sides of the coin. There are some folks working in other postal offices who are not cut out for customer service jobs.At the Glen Oaks postal office, they have the highest rating I would gather anywhere in Queens. The employees here are amazing. They work so hard and are polite.Just make sure you do your part as a customer following the rules and the transaction should go through easy.Keep up the fantastic work, Glen Oaks postal service!”
“This is the best usps location I have ever visited.
Staff here is so nice and helpful. They greet every guest. Brian was really helpful. I am so glad that I came to this location.”
“Line moves fast. Isabella, the lady with the unkept hair, and sunken eye bags is rude and dry. Whereas, the woman with long grey hair is quick, kind and straight to the point. I didn’t catch her name it starts with a M, but give her a raise!”
