Literally the worst Post Office in probably the entire US. There are a few nice people there, but the Post Master herself and and a few others are the rudest most unhelpful people you will ever meet. The place looks like a small time jail and it's run like one. Mail is constantly sent to the wrong addresses, or sent back, or just lost. They don't care. Unless you are longtime resident. In which case they will violate rules for some of you, if they like you. We actually moved out of Averill Park just to get a different Post Office to deal with our mail. If you live here or are considering moving here, I would think twice about it. Actually I wouldn't move there at all, it's not worth the hassle due to this Post Office.

I came by Google to check Saturday hours here and couldn't believe the low rating the Averill Park Post Office had. I have never had a poor experience, the staff is always friendly and helpful.

Literally watched the mail lady toss my package across my front porch. It was an expensive fragile gift for Christmas now it’s broken and I don’t have time to replace it for Christmas. Disgusted with the mail lady. It was an older woman smoking a cigarette.

Instead of coming to my door to drop off multiple packages they fit what they could into my mail box and delayed the others for the next day by saying no access to delivery location. I was home all day and there's plenty of room on my front porch if they weren't so lazy I would of had my packages on time. If I could choose, I would not use USPS

They claimed they tried to deliver a package and didn’t. I have cameras in place and at no time did they attempt. So sad I have to pay for shipping and have to go to the post office to pick it up. They should give me a refund on postage.

Our experience was sadly unpleasant. We happily came through the doors and were met by the associate JAMI who greeted us with an incredibly rude "what do you want?" we proceeded to tell her that we were helping our parents move and that we were planning on shipping our two 30 lb packages of books to Idaho but first needed to make sure that the cost of the media rate was in our budget. Jami responded with: "So you are going to make me put your packages on our scale and you probably aren't even going to ship them." Sadly this is a remark that an associate should never make based on the idea that she may be commenting or making an assumption on a customers financial situation. We proceeded to say that depending on price we may not be able to ship them but if it was in our budget we were planning on shipping them. She once again replied with attitude saying: "Well media rate is your cheapest rate, and you won't get better." Not only were her responses unpleasant, but her attitude was much less than acceptable. The whole transaction took maybe a total of 2 minutes when completed, not to mention no other customers were in the building. I work customer service and I know that when I am having a bad day I need to control my emotions when associating with my customers. JAMI obviously has not yet learned how to be mature in a social setting. I will be further contacting her manager to relay the situation. I will not be coming back to this post office ever again and neither should anyone reading this review.

Our mailbox was mowed down by a snow plow. Due to weather than health issues we have been unable to put a new one up. Each time I pick up my mail at the Averill Park Post office I am treated with total rudeness. I hate to enter the building. This is the WORST customer service ever. This person should not have customer contact at all!
