I wish they would separate the google pages for the tavern and the hotel as separate entities on google maps.
It makes it really confusing to discern their hours and hard to tell if they are open as a tavern restaurant day to day since they dont put their hours on this google page (its set up as a hotel page). Like when ppl filter for open hours snd restaurants, it evades google filters. I think they would get more restaurant business (esp from locals) if they did this. I wish tavern was open in the summer, but I don’t even know if it is or not because the Google page is so confusing. I would definitely separate the tavern and the hotel as isolated Google pages. Glad they separated the grill.
Also think the food should be open on more days— tuesdays, wednesdays, even mondays. Not just weekends. Patrick Henrys is making a killing on those days up in coxsackie.
Anyways, im an extreme fan of both tavern and grill. Highly recommend both spots. Five stars for food and atmosphere, but only 4 stars because of bad google maps page. Great food in exceptional atmosphere. Best spot around

Gorgeous rooms. Wonderful food and drink. The tavern is cozy and classic The riverfront grill is breezy, relaxing and some of the prettiest views of the river. Take a step back in time, relax and enjoy.

The most fantastic dinner last night! The trout and fish& chips were the best we’ve had! We can’t wait to return. Excellent service too! Drinks & dessert were delicious as well!

Ate in the tavern. Did not stay in a room. Service quick and food excellent. Party of four and miscommunication with waitress only one fish & chips delivered instead of two. Ran out of fish, we arrived half an hour before kitchen closed. Ordered burger instead which was excellent. Portions are large. Drinks very good. Dessert had a different take on chocolate mousse which was thicker, not the usual creamy consistency but very flavorful and white chocolate bark with nuts and fruit really nice.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the order error was not a big deal to us. Staff very accommodating. Prices about $45 per person for drinks, dinner, desserts with coffee and liquor

What a beautiful restaurant! We really enjoyed our experience at the Stewart House. The ambiance was lush, the menu had some delightful options and the service was perfect. I started with a very fresh leek soup, then had a roasted beat salad and yet another side for dinner. I loved the food, very tasty. We didn't stay for dessert as we had other plans but the options looked great. I recommend this restaurant for groups, there's something for everyone.

Pathetic. A double smash burger should be easy. Not sure how they came up with the soggy mess they served me. Nasty greasy mostly burnt fries like they gave us what they cleaned out of the frier from last night. Mushy cold shaved prime rib slider with lukewarm au jus. The waitress had to go back to the bar to get some more martini to finish filling the glass. The free oyster that came with the martini apparently needed a vinegar douche for some reason. A little scary, definitely not remotely tasty. I won't even go into how bad the waitress was.

The atmosphere, food, drinks and service are top notch. Our stay at the inn and dinners in the Tavern couldn't have been better. The servers work hard to give everyone personal attention. The drinks are well done and carefully crafted. And the menu has a great selection and the food is consistently excellent. I can't wait to go back. Thank you to Audrey and her team for the best weekend!

Came here with a bridal party and didn't have a private room booked - they saw we were there for a special occasion and gave us the private dinning room, encouraged us to play our music on the speaker - it made for a perfect evening and the food was top notch. Great experience!

We were seated in the dining room at a L shaped bench, a spacious but intimate setting. Had a wonderful dinner, drinks & live music was playing in the adjacent very cool bar. Will be back many more times!

The good and service were terrific. The staff were super nice. We went on Oyster /martini night. The drinks were perfect and I was told the oysters were delicious. Pork chops were absolutely delicious, so tender and very flavorful.

This is for the tavern only. Good food, good beer selection and drinks. But what is up with karaoke on the Saturday night before xmas? Strange choice.

First of all...Room 8 is the one to ask for. It's more of a suite than just a room. Upstairs (always our choice when it's a historic building such as this), top floor, out of the way, a view of the river (so foggy first thing in the a.m.), large & roomy, lovely king bed, soaking tub in the corner of the room (in addition to the bathroom with a nice shower) surrounded by plants. Quality linens and soaps. We stayed 3 nights (weeknights) and had a delightful time. It was very quiet. Staff friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast is minimal but good. Go up the street to The Rooster if you want a bigger morning meal. We explore the Catskills a lot, never to been to Athens, and it looks like it's starting to happen. Also a terrific spirits shop up the street, Lighthouse Liquors. We didn't get to try the tavern but the menu was appealing and the crowd seemed local & lively. Will be back.

Only tried their restaurant and wow it was good. We had oysters and then the fish and chips and pasta. Everything was excellent. +1 for the Parmesan truffle fries ?
Very romantic setting also.

Really nice.
Spacious room, and bathroom, and nicely decorated. Cool bar. We ate dinner here both nights, and the food was quite good. Breakfast is minimalist, but there are two breakfast places w/in a couple blocks: one diner-style place for pancakes and the like, the other a more hipster cafe for avocado toast or breakfast burritos (recommended). Unfortunately, we were here the weekend after the ferry stopped running for the season; that would have been neat. Would stay here again.
