Large for Astoria, good selection of items, clean. Good deli items, packaged meats, produce, baked goods, prepared foods. Large self checkout area. A bigger selection of fresh seafood still would be a great enhancement.

I have been assaulted by the security guard at Key food Supermarket in Astoria.Yes! The name for that is assault. It happened on Friday, 12/01 around 10:45am.I stepped in the store for 30 seconds to check the price of the grapes. On my way out, the security guard pulled my bag off my shoulder almost throwing me off balance. I had a shopping bag with two Italian cakes inside I have bought on the other supermarket down the block. And I had the receipt for that. I have showed the receipt to him and he just walked away without even saying “sorry for that”. If he were doing a good job, he ‘d have seen that I walked in, took a look at the fruit section and was on my way out of the store. He’d not be harassing costumers for no reason.Security guards have a protocol to follow when they want to check someone’s belongs. They must first ask permission to check the bag and then ask for the receipt. Nobody has the right to touch nobody’s belongs without permission. It is clear that Key food is using unqualified personal to do the security job.My rights and dignity were violated at Key food Supermarket.We have rights which are granted by law and must be protected.I will no longer go shop at Key food Supermarket.Less one customer!

Solid grocery store. The produce section is okay. You have to pick the right day for finding ripe fruits and vegetables, but the convenience is top notch. They have dedicated sections for bakery and deli, as well as kitchenware and household essentials (bath, paper towels, etc.). They have many self-checkout areas, so you never have to wait in line.

The supermarket has damaged fruits, the service of the cashiers is horrible, many people in the store are racists, they see me with my shopping cart and they chase me, I am Hispanic and I am a lawyer by profession and today the cashier named Therese tells me what Toilet paper is expensive, so if I have the money to pay, I buy there because it is close to the laundromat for more than 500 dollars, I wouldn't ask a white guy like that who doesn't have money, I wouldn't ask that, horrible staff.

I been going to this store for over 13 years I have never experienced the service I experienced today. I walk in looking for minced garlic I ask a worker where do you store it at. Ass I was walking away he calls some guy over wearing sweats , hoodie sunglasses. I am guess he was security. To be treated like a criminal in your neighborhood grocery makes your stomach turn as a person. I work in the retail field as a manager for a grocery store. We would never treat our neighbor customers this way.

If you want their employees to follow you and stand a feet away from you at self check out, then come here. It’s really sad how you can purchase over $100-200 dollars worth in groceries and the workers here treat you like you’re stealing. Learn how to give people space and stop projecting onto hard working people. Never coming here again.

This key food is clean and big and cool w AC in the heat of summer. There is also a nice flower section (see pics). There are self service registers to check out and pay and also human staff to check you out. Except there was a cashier who got paranoid and upset w me for taking pics of this store for my google review and I told her it was for a review. I usually always try to respect people’s privacy and try to take pics of the place and no faces that are recognizable and also color their faces if I happen to get a face in there. So besides that it was a good experience and there were a lot of nice sale items like salmon, Terra chips for $3.99, and jarlsberg cheese $6.99/pound). The fruit and veges appeared fresh and the aisles were organized. And the outside facade was nice too and modern.

The florist tries to upsell the most expensive flower arrangements. The first time he made an arrangement and charged me $50 with barely any flowers and this time i went to buy flowers for a funeral and asked him for an inexpensive option and he advised my only option was the biggest flower arrangement which cost over $100. Unreasonable and incompetent

Clean store, plenty of carts and baskets, cashier registers move with ease, self checkout is excellent with wide aisles, and excellent scanners
