I’ve been coming to George for years. I fully trust him. I brought him a Land Rover discovery that needed a new engine and he literally rebuilt the whole car for me and it lasted me 10 years until i sold it to my cousin who still drives it. When i had my Mercedes suv he always maintained it well and now i have a Nissan Sentra i bought from auction and he replaced all shocks breaks air sensor etc and has taken care of all my cars. I am very happy with him.

NEVER EVER GO HERE
I moved to Astoria about two years ago. I liked how 10 min from my home is this German Auto Care.
George changed a shock on one of my cars, he knows how to change oil and how to do some basic work but never go there with some more difficult issues.
He actually doesn't know much more about cars.
My car died on the street and I had to tow it there. George did some work, like change sparge plugs, changes some air flow sensor etc what he charged me $600.
He didn't figure what was wrong with the car so he called me if he could tow the car to his friend. Of course I asked him where, Willy's Auto Services. It was a timing chain what failed and Willy figured and fixed it in a couple days. Willy asked George for $900 and George asked me for $2000 plus $600 for the work what he did before.
Right after the timing chain my blowing fan failed so I still did go to George to replace it and he broke my car even more. Start error happened and I had to tow my car again. Towed it to Willy and he asked me for the fan repair $250, George was asking me $750.
He just really doesn't know and more he doesn't care for whatever he does.
I'm telling you, don't go this guy, every other shop around is better.

I came across George and his shop after a co-worker recommended them. I ended up getting a much needed tune-up as well as an oil change. George was very accommodating and able to see me early in the morning. The work was done in just a few hours and he gave me a super fair and reasonable rate. He explained what was done easily and I could tell wasn't trying to get over on me. Bottom line is I'd definitely go back to his shop for future work. Very nice guy. Much appreciated!

Found this place on Google and gave them a call because of their 5 star reviews. I needed new front rotors and brakes for my car and was quoted approximately $2,500 including labor by the guy who I assume is the owner. Sounded better than the $3,500 the dealership wanted, so I agreed.
My car uses Brembo rotors and they cost around $800 online, so the shop was making an additional 500 by selling them to me, and I was okay with that. What I wasn't okay with was being lied to. I asked the owner to make sure the rotors are Brembo, and he said "of course". A few days after getting the car back I decide to get a better look at the rotors and found out he sold me some Chinese aftermarket rotors that sell online for $400 each. In total, I got scammed by this place for over $1,500 and now I'm driving a high end sports car with brake parts from China...
I highly advise you to not use this shop. If for whatever reason you do end up here, PLEASE ask them to provide you with an itemized invoice so you can check the price of each individual part to make sure they aren't ripping you off. On top of that, since they blatantly lied to me about the parts they installed, I suggest asking them for the box of the new parts so you can confirm they bought the correct item.

I love German Auto! This place is so special and truly a diamond in the rough especially here in NYC. Excellent service, no BS, and HONEST mechanics! Better than taking your car to a dealer, and an NYC/Astoria GEM. John and George are the best and will take care of you.

needed the brakes checked and antifreeze flush and refill for my cuzs mercedes suv and the dealer wanted an insane amount for the radiator service as most non dealer shops dont have the special tools to do the task but german auto care can and did for much less. they service and repair all types of german and foreign cars , etc. and prices are reasonable and work is done honestly, which means you wont get ripped off. the brakes still have about 6 months or more of safe use until its time for front and rear replacements and again prices are less then what the dealer would charge . good honest auto repair shop in astoria that will be seeing me again in 6 months or until needed. 4.5 stars on my yelp meter.

I have a 2001 Porshe Turbo and no one wants to work on this car, until I went to German Auto Care. They were incredible so knowledgeable and professional. They do it all tune ups, repairs, tires it's one stop repair. Picked up my car and it drove like when I first bought it. Thank you to George who keep me informed throughout the project. Fairly priced and honest!

My daughter's car overheated on her way back from her work in Manhattan. Brought the car to German auto care. Having twice used them and the proximity of the breakdown. George the owner kept the car for 3 days of diagnostics and determined that it needed a water pump. At completion we paid him $1000 cash, and took the car back. A day later I received a call from my daughter notifying me that the car was again overheating. We nursed the car back to George and 2 more days of diagnostics replaced 2 modules and told us that the car was ready and assured us that the problem is solved. We retrieved the car and hoped that this was finally over. The following day the car overheated on her way into work once again. We decided to end this ground hog day and. The following day was spent retrieving the car by the side of the LIE and had it towed to a shop on L.I. where they determined that the radiator cap a $5 dollar item was faulty. They charged me $125 for diagnostic, parts and labor. I let some time pass before I notified George and told him of the successful repair by others and asked him to consider refunding at least the cost of the parts that were replaced when not necessary and we received a nasty "NO", without any explanation His incompetency should be very apparent. I never argued the price and paid him when asked. And we’re talking about a Toyota Avalon not a fancy German import. Think twice before you make a decision to use George. And don’t be so quick to part with your $. Good luckService: Auto engine diagnostic
