Could not recommend surf lessons with Chris enough. He's extremely communicative, knowledgable, patient, and fun to surf with. He provides everything you need for lessons, as well as secure storage and surf boards to rent - making it easy to come back and fine tune what you learn with him time and time again.

Chris and his instructors are literally awesome. Super supportive, worked around my sports injuries. Also, phenomenal competitive pricing and super flexible scheduling. My fav surf school and rental in far Rockaway for sure. I recommend him to everyone that wants to try surfing or brush up on their skills!

Chris is a phenomenal instructor who has a real passion for surfing! He’s enthusiastic and really wants to help people learn and progress. I caught the surfing bug after learning in Costa Rica and wanted to continue back in the city and Chris was there to help with lessons and rentals. The community around Surf With Chris is also very welcoming and supportive, and willing to give advice and tips on best surf days.I’m super grateful for his board storage and rental at rockaway—it’s easy, fast and makes surfing outside the city a piece of cake! If you’re considering a lesson or rental, look no further :)

Surf with Chris has the absolute best surfing lessons in New York! Great experience from start to finish. He provided extremely helpful instruction, while also going above and beyond, advising the best start time for our lesson based on the forecast, and helping us connect with an instructor last minute. It was an incredible day, our instructor is honestly the best instructor I have ever had. Can’t recommend enough!

I took private lessons from Surf with Chris based on a recommendation from a friend and had an amazing time catching waves.Personalized sessions helped me learn at my own pace. Tarzo was my instructor and he’s an amazing teacher, skillful, patient and very fun! I got very helpful tips, feedbacks and encouragements while surfing, and was able to improve my pop ups and confidence surfing the waves. Seeing real improvements!Now, I’m always looking forward to go surfing and it is becoming one of my favorite activities to do. It’s all I think about during the week thanks to wonderful people at Surf with Chris.Each lesson was around 90 minutes and money well spent! Scheduling was super easy, flexible and all gear(wetsuit + board) was included with the lessons.Definitely taking more sessions and highly recommend Surf with Chris!

I’ve taken surf lessons with several different instructors and Chris is by far the best. First of all he is a professional college athlete so you feel safe in the water with him (I believe he swam in college). He is very kind, helpful, and incredibly knowledgeable and teaches surfing in a way that made my experience incredibly fun. He’s a wonderful person and human being and also very professional. 15/10 stars , highly recommend!

We are a family with three children who have been doing classes with Chris for several weeks. Chris is a wonderful instructor! Both for adults and kids (the kids love him). He is patient, funny, kind and very attentive to making sure you have a fantastic experience on the board. He helps you at all times and accompanies you in your evolution, allowing you to catch a wave on your own little by little. Whenever you need it Chris is ready to help you and offer you the solution you need. He also rents surf board for all ages and levels and location is super convenient and just few minutes walking from the water! Thanks Chris! See you this weekend again ;)

Chris is super chill and helpful! He knows surfing techniques very well and is able to break it down for beginners like me. The class is fun & challenging. Chris helped me pushing myself out of my comfort zone and filled the idle time with encouraging words and surfing advices, so I can forget about everything else & focus on surfing during the class. I felt I made solid progress for each session I took. Will come back for sure and I even got my surfboard from him. You can't go wrong with him at Rockaway!
