We met David in Bali and he gave us a spontaneous lesson in Uluwatu. He made sure we felt really comfortable and save. He explained step by step what’s important and we felt absolutely no pressure. It was amazing after a couple of tries we could already manage to stand up! I’m sure the other instructors at Sierra Surf School are as lovely as David. So we would definitely recommend going!!!

We met the founder of Sierra Surf School in Bali, and we have to say, we’re admiring this guy in many ways! Even on his holiday, he was open to give us a surf lesson, which ended up to be an unforgettable experience! His welcoming and cheerful character as well as his skills as a surfer and teacher make him the perfect guy for a surf lesson - if you are a surfer in new york, or even interested in surfing, he is the right guy for you!

Had the best time with Sierra and David in particular. He took me out on the water and made sure I was well situated to catch waves. I’ve been surfing before but it had been a while and he was patient helping knock the rust off. Ended up catching a half dozen great waves under his watchful eye. It was a pretty crowded day and having a guide / instructor that’s super local definitely helps when you’re out there. Dave knew everyone and I even met some other people waiting for the next set. All in all a great experience. Looking forward to next time.

For the second summer in a row, my children (ages 9 & 11) have taken a one week surf camp with their friends with Sierra Surf. They love it so much and have gained many new skills. David and his team are really warm and down to earth with the kids and they always have fun. So much great surfing time. Thanks Sierra Surf School!

Thank you for amazing lesson! David your are the best instructor. We came from Ukraine and decided to go surfing, chose your school and did not regret it! For me, the main thing is the skill of explaining and the positive attitude of the coach.

Incredible lesson with David as my surf instructor today! His patience and great sense of humor created an awesome learning environment. Unlike my previous attempts at surfing including other lessons where I caught zero waves ?, David’s detailed feedback really clicked with me, and within just an hour, I was catching waves continuously ?! If you’re thinking about taking surf lessons, I highly recommend David and the Sierra Surf school, you won’t regret it. Will definitely be coming back for more lessons!

This was my third time surfing and I had a blast with David and his team. They were all skilled at surfing and very encouraging. I appreciated David's approach to learning how to surf (stretching beforehand, pointing out similarities to yoga poses, and even tips on the right mindset to catch a wave).The whole crew was super fun to kick it with as we waited for waves -- overall good conversation and really sweet people. Highly recommend!

Incredibly fun experience! David was a total pro. He was patient with a couple of rookies, he gave us a ton of guidance and confidence. And even put us a bunch of waves. Could not recommend Sierra Surf School enough!

Surf lessons with sierra surf school is the most radical experience! I’ve been doing surf lessons with them for more than two years now and it’s always fun and exciting. They took me from being terrified of waves, to now shredding them up. The instructors are all so nice, cool and helpful. I love surfing with u guys ?♀️! Rock on!????

This was my second time surfing and I had a great time. I was running late for the session but Dave and team were very responsive and accommodating. The whole team is out in the water with you trying to help you catch a good wave. Above all, they made sure that safety was a priority, always looking out for us and also informing other surfers further out to be careful with our group since we were beginners. Can’t wait to go back!

Highly recommend Sierra Surf School. Took a group lesson w/ David, Katie and Tarzo a couple weekends ago. The class was well organized and the instruction was exceptional. Everyone was kind, patient, and knowledgeable about surfing and water safety. I also really appreciated the diversity of the instructors. I've been intimidated by this sport for a long time, but found Sierra to be a welcoming and supportive community. Definitely plan to continue working with them.
