Horrible experience for a family member. The gentleman there was very rude telling my family member she was lying and had an animal and it smelled in the vehicle when she doesn't have an animal ... she has a health condition that caused the smell and he was very disciminative about it and threw the paperwork at her causing her to cry. Would not recommend going to hertz

Rented with my wife @HeatherKassel. We submitted a claim as instructed by hertz customer service. They replied they would review it and we would hear back in 7-10 business days. The google review team contacted us regarding the review my wife left and asked if they could contact us directly to talk about it to which my wife said "yes absolutely!" And we never heard from them. Not from directly submitting a claim or from their team in response to the public review.It's evident that they respond publicly to reviews saying their "sending to management for review" to appease people as if they're doing anything about their horrible customer service and renting policies. Do not rent from this company.

Posting two stars because the vehicle in itself got us to the location and back, but otherwise poor experience. Should have taken seriously the other reviews.Selected a fuel efficient SUV when making the reservation, no fuel efficient vehicles available upon pickup. Would’ve selected another rental location had I known there were only three vehicles total to rent from this location.The car was dirty upon picking up (food crumbs in the cup holders, food crumbs on the leather cover of the shifter, a broken pretzel in the backseat, dirty floor mats, and what I can only assume to be beverage stains on the seat).After starting our drive down to Virginia, we noticed the windshield sprayers didn’t work. And because when you turn on the sprayer, the wipers automatically go, it smeared everything on our windshield and we couldn’t see. Had to buy our own rainX, and pour it over the windshield to get it clear. The windshield fluid canister was full of a blue solution that must have a high freezing point, which is not acceptable for a Buffalo rental. Had to pull over multiple times to cover our windshield with rainX so we could see. The solution in the canister didn’t thaw until we were halfway through Pennsylvania. Tried calling this location when we were still close by and they were closed, so no answer. Tried calling hertz customer service and they offer emergency roadside assistance, which would have been an additional fee. No thanks, and not an emergency.The tires were racing tires and not rated for snow. This was rented in January and we encountered snowy conditions for the entire travel.When I called customer service about a completed rental to discuss this all with them, they said there was nothing they could do really because I didn’t file a complaint that day. I tried, but there was no representative option for roadside assistance.Just overall not an ideal rental experience at all. And then to top it all off, I picked the car up at 3:49pm and returned it at 4:30pm and I was charged a late fee of $35 because it was an “hour” over a 24 hour billing period which I could not find anything about in the small print of the rental agreement.Not a good location, but not a good company overall.Rent somewhere else and save yourself the stress

I was with one of my greatest friend and they were nice to her showing her everything in the car cause she didn’t ever own a newer vehicle so he’s showing her everything and I’m there watching and also helping her everything was fine. Until I was returning the key for the car this morning. I was trying to explain to the guy the drop box needs to be fixed and he’s saying ok whatever being very rude shaking his head.

We, as customers are unclear as to how to handle this situation because there is an auto shop at this location also. It makes us nervous to drive a vehicle that is not totally ready for our trip.

Absolutely awful customer service!! The man there was very nasty, even argumentative, & threatened me, upon return. & When I picked it up, it was as if I was treated like a common criminal..I couldn’t drive away from that place soon enough!! Then upon returning it, I was cringing at the thought of even having to go back there at all!! The problem began with the fuel in it, as I asked who last put the gas in before me, Hertz or the customer before me, he stated the customer, so I was mad about it, I had to take it & fill it, or get charged highway robbery of $10 a gallon…I had not rented a car in many years, as I tried to explain, & the only times I have was when I had a Mopar warranty, & my vehicle was in repair, same reason (different warranty company) I had to do it this time too, but I was told by the man there, “I’m so sick of you people trying to steal gas!!” his exact words!! Then I tried to explain when I rented years ago, I was never questioned about gas upon returning, so this was something very new to me. He kept saying I don’t believe that, I don’t believe that, & if you say it one more time..then he stopped talking, I should of asked what are you gonna do if I do??? How sad you have people that behave like this representing your company! I couldn’t help but to wonder, if because this is not considered a corporate location, they feel as though they can just treat customers however they please….

Ordered a Mazda to go on vacation with way back in March I reserved the car when I went to go pick it up they did not have any cars and infact they say they gave me an upgrade with they didn't they gave me a Chevy equinox that's not an upgrade to a Mazda

I was really shocked at her attitude when we dropped off our car. We picked the vehicle up at 10pm the night before from the airport, drive it 15 minutes that night, then 3 hours the next day, had it for less than 12 hours, and when we went to drop it of, she was really rude because there was dog hair in the car. (To be fair, there was quite a bit). However, we clearly had NO dog with us. Yet, she asked us probably 6 times if we we sure we didn't have one. She acted like we trashed the car, which was returned in great condition (as we barely had it), and was just all around rude. I'd definitely chose a different place to pick up and drop off from if we ever went back to that area.

This place has zero customer service. They over charged me by $460 saying I turned the vehicle in late. And it wasn’t in late and hertz rental company themselves even admitted by refunding me the entire over charged balance after investigating the situation for three weeks. Why was it three weeks you ask? Because the hertz contractors in Arcade wouldn’t send out their little doorbell camera video feed to the company. I know it was that because the hertz customer service reps told me they were waiting on the feed. After talking with a lot of people around town, it seems as if it’s a common conception that the owners or employees are rarely even there which explains why at 1200 on Saturday the first, my drop off time, they were no where to be found. I will say the actual hertz rental company had great customer service reps who actually helped, meanwhile it’s sad to see a company with that many nice and helpful customer service reps, contract to people who literally do not care about customer service whatsoever and charge people for the rental car to sit in there lot for two days. Don’t use them in arcade. Go anywhere else, it’ll probably be cheaper for you to drive the 30 min to orchard park.
