DO NOT GO HERE! actually, they closed down to remodel, then said they were bought out, yet they keep billing me even after my PAID in full 1 year membership is up. I informed them I did not want to renew my membership, was told it will not renew, yet I keep getting charging my account! Personally went into the gym 3 times, all three times I was told my membership is now cancelled and would be credited however, it's been 4 months and not only have I yet to receive any credit, they continue to charge me. Big SCAM because they are going out of business OR sold, can't believe what they say!!!!

WARNING do not join this fitness club. I am being held hostage by a collection agency for a contract I never signed. They automatically renewed my membership with no signed contract. I now live in a different state, why would I renew??When I visited NY to see my family I went in to straighten it out, the receptionist was on the phone continually with other disgruntled members , seems this is their business model. I smell a class action lawsuit in their future.

DON'T GO TO BIG AL'S. THEY ARE FRAUDS. THEY WILL FORGE YOUR SIGNATURE AND STEAL YOUR MONEY! In April of 2018 I ended my membership after a series of unprofessional events; including mistreatment by management, and charging my account after offering me free months (as consolation for increasing my monthly rate). The management instructed me that in order to end my membership I must submit an email to Big Al's Family Fitness. Which I did so promptly. Now months later I receive a letter in the mail from a collections agency, stating that I owe Big Al's family fitness $220. How is that possible when I ended my membership? I played a month of phone tag with their management and did not receive a reply to a single email from their management and owner! However, I finally I get in touch with the manager Lisa Leto (who i add is one of the rudest and most unprofessional individuals I have ever dealt with) Lisa Leto rudely informed me that I was under contract and that "there is no way I will win this" and " I can do whatever I want but I am going to pay." I was stunned. I had no recollection of ever signing a contract. I asked to obtain a copy and she told me they do not have a printer, but I could come in and take a picture. When I began to inquire more information regarding the date I supposedly signed this contract or with which manager, she stated that I allegedly signed in November and with a manager that I learned was fired. She then rudely stated that she had another customer and hung up the phone on me. I found this to be shocking since I enrolled in summertime not in November. After this unsettling conversation I had my attorney contact Ms. Leto for a copy of this contract. When I received a copy of this contract I was in shock. Big Als FORGED my signature onto this contract. When my attorney contacted Ms. Leto she informed him that the signature was lifted off of different document I supposedly signed and then placed onto this contract! In short, Lisa Leto admitted that I did not sign this contract. Not only is this poor business practice, but it is is fraud. I will be reporting Big Al's to the NY Attorney General's Office's Bureau of Consumer Frauds and Protection. I urge all former and current members of Big Al's Family Fitness to be diligent with your account. Also you should check to see if they have also forged your signature and take appropriate action Manage

Absolutely horrible service. They made 2 accounts for my son and myself so there were 4 accounts for 2 people. This went on for over 13 months and I never noticed it. When I caught it I asked them about it and was told it was nothing but late fees and yearly charges. Went to my bank and they have pulled over $600 for the 2 extra accounts THEY made on their computer. Also the emailing customer service and waiting 30 days to cancel an account is a scam, they just want to make u pay another month. I watched them delete an account within seconds at they're computer when I brought in over 30 papers of Bank statements. 3 months after I realized they've screwed me for hundreds my accounts are still active. The customer service at this location is one of the worst I've seen in my entire life. To add on to all of this the actual gym looks like a rundown space where 60% of the gym is closed off and most of the machines don't work. Save your time and money I'm currently in contact with the BBB and creating a report on this awful establishment.

3 months later and Big Als is getting worse! Both water fountain filters have been red ("dirty") for months; the side of the gym which was to be renovated is clearly up for lease; the entire parking lot is closed off...like actual empty space is closed off and left unused. Embrassing!

Worst gym around they never let you cancel your membership they continue to charge your card no matter what even when you email go there in person cancel by phone anyway you try to cancel they ignore it and just keep trying to charge your card. I've already placed numerous complaints against them with the Better Business Bureau read the yelp reviews every person says the same thing they are thieves. Everyone needs to start a class action suit against them.

Terrible Customer Service, facilities scaled down, overcrowded, best to go elsewhere- they are running a scam on their members. Double check your bank statements if you go here! I keep receiving all sorts of erroneous charges after terminating my account and every time I call, I get the run around. Terrible, Terrible, Terrible. Shotty Gym- don't even bother, take your money elsewhere. For what you pay on a membership here you can just go to a way nicer facility and not get scammed.

They better do something... and FAST!!! Clients leaving, Gym deteriorating conditions, water leaks, water flooded on floor. There's only a few dedicated that remain but those renovations are now NEVER happening. It's truly sad to watch my favorite place I go to daily go down the drain!!!

Buyer beware- I signed up at this gym a long time ago. Due to a back injury I have been unable to attend since October. I was paying for a personal trainer twice a week to the tune of $260 a month plus 3 memberships (mine, my husband, and my son) for $19 a piece. I had my training sessions suspended. They reinstated them without notifying me. At that point I cancelled them (two days before Christmas) to which I spoke with a man who said they'd be refunded. I was refunded but imagine my surprise when they charged me again. At this point I requested a cancellation of both my training and membership. They told me that the person i cancelled with was no longer with the company and that's why they had no record of the cancel. I requested that they then cancel everything- and went to my bank to see if they could block any further charges. Without canceling all my cards I wouldn't be able to block them but I figured that I had washed my hands of this company. Today I logged into my bank account and surprise they had charge me 3 $30 fees for "yearly maintenance" I promptly called and spoke with a woman who told me no my accounts are suspended not cancelled and that regardless of your membership status you still get this charge every year. I sent an email as they requested to cancel my accounts which I have not gotten a reply to. I will be filing a dispute with the bank however do not do business with this place. Had I been a member of yelp prior to joining I would have stayed far away. I'll never see the hundreds of dollars they continued to charge me when I medically CANNOT attend gym sessions. The trainer I had here was wonderful but she's no longer with the company and the parking has always been terrible. Literally anywhere would be better then here. If I receive any more charges to my account I will go to the police. If I could give this no stars I would.

This is by far the worst gym experience ever. I started going to the gym under a $10 a month plan. Months later the gym started charging me double. The gym never contacted me explaining whey the rate increase. The parking is a nightmare and very dangerous. The only parking the gym has is ruined with massive potholes. When you exit the parking you have a ton of blind spots. The staff never resolved my questions to why I was being over charged. They were rude and condescending. You can only cancel via email. The worst gym ever. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GYM!!!!

Horrible ownership. A bunch of scammers. They closed down the location near me and are making me jump through hoops to cancel my membership despite numerous attempts. They breached the contract and are giving me a hard time to cancel membership that was only for 1 year. Its been over 2 and they still keep taking money out of my account

I joined this gym and am paid up until Jan 2019. While the trainers are helpful and friendly, the sales staff can be pushy, but that is expected. The real problem is the state of the gym itself. Renovations were announced Dec. 2017 and were allegedly to be completed by March 2018. HA! What a joke. And of course the ongoing parking problems just add to the problems. So discouraging. I want to be able to workout somewhere I feel comfortable, instead this space is unnecessarily stressful.

Don't even know where to begin..aside from not being able to park in the main lot, none of the equipment ever works properly, sauna was out of order for months finally fixed it yet nail heads are sticking up in the sauna bench and rip clothing, place is a dump. If I didn't pay for the year up front I'd never step foot in the place again.
