The tax preparer, who was actually the manager I believe, did an out of state return for my husband and didn't catch that he had to attach the form to claim child tax credit. Our federal return was also apparently missing our child's information.We weren't mad, it happens. Call 1, to this office, they told us to email the preparer himself. Emailed, no response.Call 2, to the corporate office, they tell us to email the front desk. No response.Subsequent calls, someone answers and says please hold, then never comes back on the line.Federal got figured out over the phone, but Colorado only gave us 30 days to submit a specific form. My husband ended up having to attempt to fill out the form and send it to Colorado Revenue himself. We pay for people to do it for a reason. We aren't confident we did it right and may have lost out on over $700. We paid $250 to have this return done.I wasn't going to leave a bad review. Until they email a week after the 30 days, despite me advising them that it was urgent and had a due date, telling me that we probably have to submit proof of our son living with us - when the letter we provided to them says we specifically needed to submit DR 1040CN, not that we need to submit proof.Will not be returning.

We are retired and our finances have simplified so we figured rather than a CPA we would use EG Tax Service. My wife had an identity theft issue a few years ago so she has a IRS PIN number that we gave to the preparer at the start of our interview. From the outset we had the sense that our preparer did not have familiarity with taxes and as the in-person session continued I began to think she had little knowledge of computers (let alone taxes). She stumbled through the session and then when the cost was calculated it came out $70 more than we paid the CPA last year. When we told her that, the office supervisor came over and started knocking off charges until the price was at least a little bit less than last year from the CPA. The final straw came next day when I got a phone call from the preparer telling me my wife needs a PIN and we never gave it to her. I went to the folder they gave us after completion and got the PIN so she could do her job. I assume the taxes were calculated correctly because it's a computer program but we will not be back to EG Tax.

Made a virtual appointment for 6:30 pm, they called said they were running late. I called back at 7 and 7:45pm.... Still they were running late. No it is 9pm, why would I want to do my taxes now almost 3 hours after my appointment and still they haven't called me. Super unprofessional

I've been a customer of EG for about 7 years. And after today I will no longer do business with them!!! I had them do my taxes on March 13th 2021. The woman who did my taxes took almost over 2 hours and kept making mistakes. When I did not receive my refund I started calling EG and I kept getting dismissed by MANY employees. I even spoke to fPhil the manager who was there the day the woman who prepared my taxes took over 2 hours. I asked him to check into my taxes to make sure everything was correct and he assured me they were fine and that it was due to all the stimulus checks being handed out. While I'm watching all my friends and family receive all of their income tax return and here I was still waiting for mine. Some of these people even did their own taxes their self and didn't even e file and we're getting checks in the mail. Finally I got a hold of a woman named Tiffany she then called the IRS. I was told that by June 14th I should see an expected pay date and if not that we should call the IRS back. Tiffany assured me she would keep looking into it and that if there wasn't a date she would call the IRS with me. She even said she was sending me a gift certificate in the mail so that I could get my taxes done for free this year . I called at 10 a.m. this morning asking to speak to Tiffany and was told that she was with a client. I left a detailed message and when I did not receive a call back from her I called her at 3 p.m.. a woman named Maria answered the phone and advised me that Tiffany is not in the office. Maria tried to call the IRS but said they kept hanging up on her and that I would have to call tomorrow so she could try again. So let's get this straight their tax preparer made a mistake on my taxes I paid almost $200 for WHAT?? Then when I asked about getting a refund I was told that its not a guarantee that I will get a refund but that she will put a request in for it. I am beyond dissatisfied and utterly disgusted at how I kept being dismissed. It says right online that it will take two to three weeks if you want to make an amendment to your taxes. So I asked Maria today well why don't we make an amendment saying is that two weeks have already passed since I called the last time. And she's trying to tell me that if I do an amendment I won't see my money till September? when it says right on the IRS website it should only take two to three weeks from the date you file an amendment so are they just being lazy and don't want to do the work that they messed up on? Or why aren't they doing anything to get my money expedited seeing they made the mistake???????? Oh and that gift certificate that Tiffany was sending, it's been over two weeks now and still hasn't made it in my mailbox so I guess that was lie too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unacceptable. The only employee that I could work with , who supposedly was the only employee knowledgeable regarding trusts, proved otherwise. What information she gave me in June 2020 didn't hold water when actually filing. Also, I had an appointment in December with same employee to get a figure of what I owed for estimated taxes. I was spot on with the information I brought her, she GROSSLY underestimated my payment, resulting in a penalty. This is what I pay for? This is the help/tax advice of professionals? No thank you. I'll be looking elsewhere for a knowledgeable staff.

Happy happy tax season! I had a lovely experience with EG Tax services and was able to get my taxes done in 15 -20 minutes. Chris Fabian was wonderful to work with and his office decor is pretty rad with all of the matroyshka (nesting) dolls. Such quick service and I will be back next year.
