Amazingly well kept and restored home. Rooms were clean, spacious and the whole house was full of charm and character. I swore we were the only ones there until breakfast and 3 other couples joined us! So quiet, no creaking doors or steps, no thin walls to hear other conversations or movement in the hallway. It was a wonderful weekend getaway where we truly felt like we got away from everyone. Great location near wineries and food... Easy access for travel.Such a wonderful experience, would highly recommend to anyone for any reason!!!

My husband and I recently traveled for 14 days through the New England states and the leaves were beautiful. Each night we stayed at a differet B & B but The Hilltop House Bed and Breakfast was by far the best! We were greated with a smile by Sandy, our hostess, as we pulled into the driveway. Upon entering the house you felt a warmth and comfort immediately. The farmhouse was decorated charmingly with antiques throughout, and our room was very cozy, immaculate, and inviting just like pictured on the internet. There was a pride of ownership displayed throughout the home. Breakfast prepared by Sandy was scrumptious. Cinnamon toast and yogurt with home grown fresh fruit were on the menu. I wish that we could have stayed longer but hopefully we will return to the area someday and The Hilltop House. John and Glenda

This is an exquisite, charming bed & breakfast. The rooms are impeccably clean and well-appointed with thoughtful decor that feels modern yet honors the historic detail of the house itself. Sandy is a wonderful host (and cook!). You'll feel right at home at Hilltop House.Rooms: Charm and coziness galore! Plus they're extremely clean. Our room (the Roses Room) had a large, comfortable bed that I never wanted to leave. I could have stayed forever!Safety: The B&B is tucked away in a sleepy little neighborhood--we felt very safe and secure here.Walkability: Not too far from the core business area of the town. Easy to walk to from Hilltop House.

What a wonderful little gem. The house is beautifully decorated with fantastic character. The hosts do a fantastic job of making you feel right at home. Quiet spot, but centrally located for exploring some great NY towns and villages. Will definitely visit again.

My husband and I enjoyed our first delightful visit to Amenia for an Autumn bike trip getaway. Upon arriving at Hilltop House we were warmly greeted by Sandy the Innkeeper. She and West made us feel at home during our 3-day stay and she gave special attention to my husband's diabetic needs. All of Sandy's wholesome breakfasts are made with local grown food. We especially loved her quiche and delicious blueberry and raspberry pancakes. Hilltop House was built in 1909 and is beautifully maintained. It's in an ideal location if you enjoy any outdoor activities such as biking, hiking, walking, etc. Amenia and the surrounding areas offer gorgeous views of rolling hills and farms. Though we did not see peak foilage during early October, the views were still amazing! If you are a biker you will love the 22-mile Harlem Valley Rail Trail for its sheer beauty and flat paved surface. We also took a side trip to the must-see Bash Bish Falls in Massachusetts, about a 30-minute drive from the Inn. The restaurants in the area are very good. We enjoyed dining at Charlotte's in Millbrook, Four Brothers Pizza in Amenia and the Amenia Steakhouse. Overall our Autumn getaway was WONDERFUL thanks to great recreation areas, very nice accommodations, good restaurants and Sandy's gracious hospitality. We look forward to our next visit to Hilltop House. Maybe next time... we will plan a Spring getaway!

Recently we travelled to Amenia NY from Ontario for a funeral and consider ourselves very fortunate to have spent the weekend at Hilltop House B&B.The comfortable, homey decor and surroundings of this Historic home and the warm hospitality helped to lighten our spirits on this sad occasion. The accommodations were impeccable and Sandy, our hostess, was attentive without being intrusive. Delicious breakfasts with attention to GF and local produce, good company and peaceful surroundings - what more could you want?Because of the distance, we really had no intentions of returning but we just might have to go back for some more cinnamon toast and pink lemonade blueberries!Thank you so very much Sandy

Sandy runs a meticulously clean and charming establishment and she goes the extra mile to ensure that her guests' needs are completely and thoroughly met. Next time I come up to the Dutchess County area, Hilltop House will be my # 1 choice to stay. The rooms are spacious, very neat, nicely furnished with firm comfortable beds and the bathrooms are inviting and totally useful in every way. I have ZERO criticisms of Sandy and Hilltop House; everything about my stay was FIRST RATE, to include lovely and delicious breakfasts which left me wanting for absolutely nothing. Sandy does it all beautifully. Russ Miller (from Virginia)

During our two night stay Sandy was so gracious and attentive, prepared inspired, full breakfasts in this exceptional, extremely well maintained, spotless home. We’ll be back again for a stay to read and relax on her spacious porch and revisit this area of Dutchess County especially enchanting Innisfree Gardens.
