Amenia Yoga is such a gem! They offer a variety of classes that really work for all levels, with an emphasis on staying fit as we age. Sarahs teaching style is very engaging, relaxing and informative. She has a wealth of experience and knowledge about her craft and I always feel beautifully guided thru each class. Amenia Yoga is a place where you will find community as well, sometimes we are served tea after class much is so sweet. As someone who’s known for ages that I should do yoga but never liked it, I can truly say that I have found my haven at Amenia yoga!

I wholeheartedly recommend Sarah and Amenia Yoga to everyone! Sarah is sincerely committed to enhancing the well being of each of her students, regardless of their skill level. I have noticed a significant improvement in my strength and flexibility since I began taking Sarah's Wise and Strong classes. Sarah takes the time to explain not only the necessary moves but she explains the science behind them and how they will improve the functioning and strength of each of the muscles or body parts.

Sarah Wallace’s yoga classes are transformative and aimed at strengthening everything from bonrs to ligaments, and core/back strengthening; her classes always integrate meditation and bongs to start your class feeling centered and focused and to end the class to feeling relaxed, yet energized

In just three sessions of this magnificent “one hour per week class”, your body will change. One day you’ll pick up something that typically you found cumbersome, but suddenly it is an easy lift. Your upper body will open as your back muscles strengthen and your posture aligns. The routine is easy to understand and self-paced. When you finish you will be completely and thoroughly spent - in a good way. Sarah provides expert guidance and patience. I cannot recommend this class highly enough. Kathleen

I have regularly attended Amenia Yoga's morning classes biweekly for two and a half years and strength training weekly for one year. It is great to have been able to build a morning routine that improves my strength, balance and posture. Sarah is a knowledgable instructor who teaches us an awareness of our anatomy in addition to modeling poses and exercises. She caters for different levels and individual modifications according to our needs.Sarah is also eager to build a community of people who build connections as we practice. Newcomers are made welcome and always introduced to the group. After class Sarah serves tea and we have time to get to know each other.I feel blessed to have found such a wonderful resource in our community. Membership of Amenia Yoga has helped me physically, mentally and socially as I have adjusted to a changing lifestyle in my retirement.

I love Amenia Yoga! Sarah Wallace guides her classes with directness, clarity and humor. She starts each day by introducing everyone in the group, building a sense of community that extends to the conversations at the end. Sarah’s yoga instruction provides a framework for increasing strength, balance and flexibility and she is attentive to the safety and needs of her students. Sarah provides accessible building blocks for classic asanas held just long enough, with options for flow portions so each student can find their place. While the individual practice is unique, there is a strong sense of shared breath and laughter. Each class ends with a breathing exercise, and Sarah signals the end of shavasana with the lovely tones drawn from crystal bowls. Heather teaches the Friday evening flow class, which is lovely and dynamic.

2023 while reading posts on the Amenia Wassaic page I saw Sarah’s post about Amenia Yoga – a place for Wellness. Suffering from the winter doldrums, I contacted her about finding a class that would be good for me. This was life changing! In May I joined the Wisdom Yoga morning class which has improved my posture, balance, breathing and most of all, movement. As a teacher, Sarah is very knowledgeable about the yoga practice and the effects it has on the human body. Her studio is always warm, friendly, and clean. Every class is a new learning experience! She makes sure every student is performing the pose correctly even helping with innovated ways to achieve the pose to the best of their ability. Sarah then introduced me to her Friday morning class of Wise and Strong! I never would have thought that at the age of 70 and suffering with balance issues, A/R, and Lupus that I would be able to do a forearm plank let alone hold it for 59 seconds – balancing on one foot for the Tree pose while moving my arms in the air - doing the wall sit for over 2 minutes (just a few of my proud achievements). Thank you, Sarah, for giving me this opportunity.

I have been doing yoga with Sarah for a couple of years and I absolutely love it! It is a gentle practice and yet I can feel that my body (and my mind) have changed a lot. I feel stronger and much more flexible and I noticed that I have much more energy than before.Great thing about zoom sessions is that I can keep a routine when I am travelling! Also, Sarah is always bringing new elements to the class which feels dynamic and never repetitive. The practice is giving me more confidence and I now feel that my body is more fluid and better prepared to other physical exercises as well.Highly recommend it!!!

I have practiced yoga for 40 years with varying degrees of intensity. I've had many different yoga teachers. Sarah's class is by far the best class I've ever attended. I've been going to Wisdom Yoga regularly for 5 months and I can really tell the difference as far as body effects; I'm stronger and my balance has improved. Sarah is knowledgeable about human anatomy and has the ability to gear her class to individual concerns such as osteoporosis, balance issues, and injuries. Highly recommended!!

I was looking for a yoga studio to start up my practice again having lapsed during Covid and was going to be in Amenia for the Summer. I saw Amenia Yoga on google and it was my first and last stop. Sarah is a great teacher and very knowledgable about anatomy in general and I have been going three times a week for the past nearly 6 weeks. I have been doing the "Wise" yoga twice a week and "Wise and Strong" on Fridays which is a body strengthening class. Great for post menopausal women and older men. These classes are tailored for the older person but still challenging and Sarah cleverly gears them to the class members present. It's a lovely yoga community.I am going to really miss it when I return to London and I'm trying to work out if I can do it remotely with the time difference. Don't hesitate to give it a try.

Wonderful classes. Popped over from London and really enjoyed both sessions. I hope Sarah puts a series on youtube so I can follow back in London.
