Alfred would not be the same without the Rogue Carrot, an excellent little grocery with a whole foods focus and an array of local crafts for sale. The owner is attentive and responsive, placing special orders for customers and always ready to try new product lines. This place is a lifeline for those who cannot easily get to Hornell or Wellsville for groceries and good food.

The Rogue Carrot is a brilliant part of Alfred's community. The owner takes great care in selecting healthy, local, and quality food (and some other goods) and providing needed provisions for us. I love going in, seeing her and deciding what strikes my fancy for dinner.

The Rogue Carrot is the kind of shop where you feel welcomed the moment you step inside. The produce is great, and I love the way they support local makers, bakers, and growers. It’s a fantastic place to buy local items for gifts, and I appreciate the fun and functional aesthetic environment. The owner and staff are always helpful in finding items, special ordering items, or helping with a recipe idea. The Rogue Carrot makes the village of Alfred a special place and truly is an essential part of the community..

The Rogue Carrot is one of the places that makes Alfred, Alfred in its interesting and unique way. The food is fresh and healthy, the place is unique with the handmade items in addition to the organic produce. Great loose spices as well. The people that work there are friendly and the owner is not only a generous business woman but is also a well respected artist. We are fortunate to have this store in Alfred!

I wouldn’t have made it through Covid lockdown without this wonderful store. Great to have it here, for fresh produce, groceries and a terrific selection of spices.

Wonderful local grocery, and the staff and owner are equally delightful. In addition to local produce, there is a very nice selection of gifts made by local artisans. I stop in at least once a week to see what new veggies are on tap and for ice cream and whatever other treats we may need to get us through the week. I love the Rogue Carrot! Highly recommend.

Great service, great selection and great local goods (art work, homey, baked goods & more)! The “carrot” is a local staple for our family. We always appreciate the owners attention to detail, sharing recipes, willingness to bring in products on runs to the city and, running into students and villagers alike. It’s a special spot in our magic valley.

An impressive and quaint store for a quaint town. The selection of fresh ingredients all year round is fantastic. The service is impeccable, especially with special orders. The support they give to local artists is also very nice to see! This store is a great staple in Alfred!

The Rogue Carrot is one of the best things about Alfred. The definition of a community space - and a small business who supports other small businesses. Great selection - many locally raised ingredients, and if they don’t have it, they can order it for you. A total treasure, an Alfred institution, and a must visit when visiting. So great to have non corporate options. We are lucky to have healthy options, locally owned options here.

Everytime I've gone into this WONDERFUL store, I am always met with an array of beautiful sights and smells! From the produce to the wide array of spices and teas, everything I've purchased from this establishment has been nothing but the highest quality. I also love their support for local artists and supporting the university with their incredible catering! They only use the freshest ingredients for all that they do and I am so glad that this shop is part of the Alfred community. Can't for my next trip in!
