Once again Bruce unscrewed up what I screwed up. The only guy I have work on my guns. Best gunsmith on Long Island.

I had an outstanding experience at Hunter's Essentials. From the moment I walked in, Eric and the other employees were incredibly helpful and friendly. Their customer service is top-notch—they went above and beyond to make sure I got exactly what I needed. I was looking for a specific firearm I found online, and not only did they offer to try to price match it, but they also took the time to walk me through all the details.
What really set them apart was how knowledgeable they were about the NYC licensing process. Navigating the city's firearm requirements can be confusing, but Eric and the team walked me through every step with patience and clarity. I never felt rushed or overwhelmed, and they made sure all my questions were answered.

Incredible service. I went in with an issue with an attachment that I bought which was incompatible. Completely my fault. Instead of telling me there was nothing they could do, the great store members took time to work with me to a solution and utilized a lot of creative problem solving to fix my issue free of charge. This was my go to ffl and Bruce was always good to deal with but recently they charged me 50$ to transfer 1K rounds of ammo. I thought it was 2.50$, most 10 or 20$. Idk kind of upsetting.
Edit: I spoke to Bruce as he called me back about the charge and apparently they charge 15% of the purchase price of ammo,which I was unaware of. By my home in huntington,one place is 25$ (unlimited amount) for the transfer another is
17.50$ for up to 2 boxes (amount irrelevant) and the 3rd is a $2.50 or 10$ for large amount. Its 2.50$ to run the check, and the store should make a couple bucks for the delivery and transfer, but I don’t think it’s fair to charge a percentage of the purchase price and I hope they reconsider this fee/policy.

I’m a new owner , and first time coming here. It was as if I knew these guys for 20 yrs. Felt like home, knowledgeable, professional and best of all never talk down to me. My only regret is I didn’t buy my first from them. I will most def be going back and claim this place as my go to. Bought this gem btw, great prices I mean this place is heaven

I've been using them for a few years for purchases and transfers. Bruce and crew are great people, they are knowledgeable and attentive. Prices are more than fair and I never been rushed in any decision on purchases. If you have any question they can help in timely manner. I wish we would have more stores like it on Long Island.

I cannot say enough good things about Bruce. He’s been a great help as my FFL. I was in Hunters the other day and Eric assisted me. He’s very helpful and knowledgeable. (He has a great sense of humor too!?).
6/27/24 UPDATE: I was in today to pick up 2 ammo cans of 8mm mil-surp ammo. Bruce took the cans to my car without me asking as he knew that I was 5 weeks post op spinal fusion. And a shout out to Eric as he was very helpful in putting the papery together.
