Scammers! Stay away. These people came to move our tanks because they were supposedly too close to the AC unit. They then cracked the gas pipe and tried to act like the didn't break it. Their others technicians took a week to come and fix it and then still didn't fix it but admitted they broke it.. It is now over a week of us not being able to use our stove and spending money on take out because of their incompetence. They then skirted repairing what they broke and now we have to pay an independent plumber to fix it for hundreds of dollars. When they had previously promised compensation for their damage. Completely unethical liars. Larry especially passes the buck and makes it seem like they didn't do anything.
Administration is moronic and incompetent. We have had to sign up for autopay 5x because they can't figure out their on billing system and then have the audacity to call and say you haven't paid your bill.

They are unethical to the core. They took away our old propane tank, which we owned and which was in perfectly good condition, and replaced it with one of their own. This was done without our knowledge or approval. They then had the gall to institute a tank rental fee ! We are refusing to pay so they just locked our propane tank, which is full, so we cannot access the gas we already paid for until we give them their fee. They also deliver fuel to you when you don't need it, filling the tank with no more than a few gallons but then charging you the "minimum" for delivery which is a lot more than the cost of the gas itself. In the past we also used them for heating oil but eventually severed ties because it became clear to us that their technicians were not servicing the boiler honestly. The boiler would go out, they would come and charge a whopping amount for an "emergency" call - hundreds of dollars - and then a few months later the boiler would go out again. We started to suspect they were incompetent or maybe "fixing" it so it would break again soon. We called in an independent plumber who fixed it once and it stayed fixed for years. Take our advice: even if you haven't had any trouble with them yet, you will. Sever ties now.

Was a nightmare getting an underground tank from Suburban Propane put in last year (day of install told bad tank no good ones available for awhile as good tank an hour away and too busy, my excavator had to come 3 times as they kept changing delivery date after scheduled, had hole full of water that they left me to pump out and I’m a senior citizen, refused to put tank in hole as septic near which was shown originally so another trip and cost for my excavator, tank in hole but too busy to hook up, after going up chain partial hookup in dark but not all parts brought, no plan to finish as busy, further up chain and manager brought last parts, my excavator finally back again to fill hole so lots of extra costs over several months of delays and excuses). . Level gauge has not worked since fill up last year. I’ve called Larry numerous times over last 2 months as power outages and no idea level, told tech will be sent. No tech yet, another power outage and no working gauge.

Very disappointed with how they treat their customers; they just don't care. My recommendation is to stay away. They will randomly show up and try to fill up your tanks, dropping a bill for over $800. If you happen to catch them and refuse the fill up, they will charge you $150 for the visit, which you did NOT schedule. This happened multiple times over 5 years even though I repeatedly asked them not to do this and would abide by our terms of service. They do not feel like an honest company; they just want to charge you at their convenience.

Would give 0 stars if I could. Worse company to work with. Tried to pin previous owner bill on me from a whole year before I even owned the house and don't answer calls, return calls, or communicate AT ALL.They leave Meghan to answer calls and take the heat but she knows nothing, repeating the same bs information that you already know but can't answer your questions, countering information right in front of you on their service slips. Always hang up saying she'll email her manager and have him call me back, which is a joke. The manager, Robert knows NOTHING about his job and can't help worth a lick with anything, doesn't even know how to look you up in their system. I've had technicians wake me up out of a dead sleep, at 6am with no notice, TWICE! And no, not for an auto refill - simply for them to do whatever it is they want to do. But if I reacted out of fear to defend myself with all that unexpected banging outside my window, I'd be the one in wrong. HORRIBLE, 1000% do not recommend

By far the worst company I've ever dealt with. Unresponsive, inept and I'm astonished they are still in business.

Actual scammers.. they randomly took me off auto-fill then charged me 135$ for an out of route emergency fill… The woman tried to argue with me that I never had auto fill until I pulled up the bills to prove it. literally buying my own 100lb tanks and filling them myself from now on. This is not the first issue I’ve had with them either. They are on an ancient customer service system. If I had more time and money I would go to small claims just out of principle. Do it yourself don’t use them.. if natural gas isn’t an option for you try something other than propane..

Charged for 2 deliveries when we only received one within one month. These people are terrible. In addition to this, they mandate a pressure test at $75, charge $99 for an unexplained labor fee, though there was no labor, charge a tank rental fee of $72. They lock you into a contract and charge $250 if you want to terminate early. That should be a massive red flag. Stay away from these people.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. YOU WILL REGRET IT.I have been charged 196.75 for a propane delivery I never received. They have been completely ignoring my emails and phone calls (even hung up on me after I explained no delivery was ever made). They have NO intention of correcting this. The attorney general should be looking into Suburban Propane. Big scammers

This company is terrible to work for and they raise prices and never bring them back down. People leave and they expect one employee to do the work of 3 with no compensation so they can make budget and get their big bonus. They say they will not pay me for my vacation hours due to their policies but the "policies" are not the same for everyone. They say customers come first but every time you go to management with an issue you are told that there is nothing we can do for them!! Do not work here. Do not do business with them!!
