I recently had the pleasure of experiencing outstanding customer service from Matthew Thomas at Spectrum, and I am compelled to share my positive encounter. My elderly mother encountered some issues with her Spectrum account, and Matthew Thomas went above and beyond to assist her with patience, empathy, and a solution-driven approach. They had me wait a half hour, one worker couldn’t even help people because he just returned from a leave of absence and lost all his access. Finally exchanged my modem which took about 2 minutes (they really should have a dedicated associate for that). Got my modem home and unwrapped the shrink wrap, sure I know they reuse modems, but they didn’t even clean this one, covered with dusty grease on top, I had to use a sanitizer wipe on it. I took a picture of the top of it before I cleaned it just to show people how nasty it was.

Spectrum is bad for our community. Their price schemes only highlight the monopoly stranglehold they have over the Capital Region.
Upload speeds are abysmal. Lower than what the government considers broadband speeds (100/20). Unless you shell out their top tier "gig" plan you where you can only upload at 20 up!
If your in the market for a new home. Make sure it has Verizon / Fiber alternatives. A lot of places in Albany (even close to the hospitals) will not be getting fiber anytime soon and your only choice for wired is Rectum. They see no reason to upgrade.

This is the Clifton Park location. They screwed up everything. They gave me a new DVR box and then two days later the DVR stopped working. Customer service said I had canceled it, I asked them why would I cancel the DVR but yet come home with a brand new DVR box? Our telephone didn't work for 3 days, and Internet for 2 days. After several several calls it was figured out that all of these errors were all human errors that their people on the phone made. There were a total of 9 calls make within. 3 days to get things correct.

I just wanted to thank the A team I met at the Spectrum Colonie center store. Luis, Darrell, and Dez A. for the professional service you all provided me, and for convincing me not to return the phone back to the cell company that totally almost lost a valued customer.

Spectrum is an oversized telecom that is bad for our community. Their services are spotty at best, and their price schemes only highlight the monopoly stranglehold they have over the Capital Region.
New subscribers get years of discounted services while loyal customers of 10 years or more foot the bill. We are laughed at by customer service representatives when we call in to ask about discounts for said loyalty, and if we do opt for a change we have to go through the abuse of Spectrum's Customer Retention Department (this is 2024, NO means NO).
The real sting of being a customer in the Capital Region is knowing that instead of investing in their own infrastructure and creating a robust, reliable fiber optic network for the last 20 years, Spectrum used that money to block their competitors from entering the area (except for some patch areas of neighborhoods) robbing the community of diverse choices and competitive services and prices.

I called to find out about getting service and the pricing. Turned out it was not a good fit for me and I cancelled. Since then I have been receiving calls everyday non stop. I submitted a BBB complaint in an attempt to have this company remove all my data from their system and never contact me again. I feel like I'm being harassed because every time I answered and asked them to stop calling clearly didn't do anything.

Mark was really great. He helped us with iCloud backup, walked my wife through and handled a complete data transfer as part of her purchase of a new iPhone 15 Max, and even comped a phenomenal new Xumo stream box. We were really treated well and truly appreciate his superior professionalism and courtesy. Well done!! Thank you, Mark.

Just received a gift the new ultra 2 Apple Watch, went through the setup process and everything looked good. Unfortunately the cellular connection wasn't working even though it said it was connected. I called spectrum to help fix it, but not only did they not fix it they disconnected my phone. How does this happen. Terrible customer service and no follow up.
