I tried to transfer money online from MY account(at Broadview FKA SEFCU) to my GRANDDAUGHTER' account (also at Broadview FKA SEFC) and was advised that it would take 3 DAYS for the transfer to move...in the same bank!! Needless to say, the money will be transferred sooner than that and NOT within the same institution.

Experience in the branch itself is pretty quick and the staff are friendly. Never have any problems really but ever since the atm sites have changed and updated the systems have been weird on taking atm deposits with cash it spits it back out I think the overdraft fees are ridiculous at $28 per transaction. I haven't seen overdraft protection they might have it but personally in app or online I haven't.

On hold again for something that would never have been an issue at a competent bank. For the third time after it was supposed to be taken care of. Just avoid these people.

I used to like SEFCU. They handle basic banking functions via their tellers well. However, when researching loans for a property I was given 5 minutes by a Bob Kelly while he was driving and pushed into a home line of credit online application. When I responded via e-mail I was still gathering information and needed more, he never wrote back. So much for using SEFCU for a loan. I need to have funds sent from Canada to the US (a distance of less than 250 miles from the Canada branch to SEFCU branch). SEFCU will handle the transactions some of the time, but not all the time. They often say contradictory things in this regard. It is enormously frustrating and costly, as funds often have to be sent 2x. This inconsistency is unprofessional and I have experienced it over 2 years. Hence, I would not trust SEFCU beyond simple actions a teller can perform. Their teller staff is good.

Why do you screw over your customers? My card was closed due to a single fraudulent charge this morning, the charge was blocked, my account was frozen and the card closed - and I wasn't told any of this. I got to find out when using my card to buy groceries, and SEFCU's pathetic response was "Oops, you should have been alerted sooner than that" - YA THINK?!? So now, I am unable to do any online shopping for the holidays, because SEFCU can't ship a new card to me for two weeks, unless I pay $40 out of pocket to get a new card by Tuesday next week. Why doesn't SEFCU ship all replacement cards out in 24 hours or less, free of charge (god knows the customer gets nickled and dimed on everything else already), to all of their customers?? How is this fair to customers at the holidays??

The most disorganized customer service department I have ever encountered. I pay my bill monthly over the phone as this is the only way possible. After paying the amount advised by the call center for two months I received a letter stating the bank would be taking legal action against me in seven days if my account was not paid in full. After three different representatives told me I was paid in full a fourth said my account was overdue three dollars. (After every time I call I ask them to confirm I am paid in full)This has happened several times. One representative went as far as to blame me for their mistake. Another took responsibility but said there was nothing they could do and that the other representatives had been "reading from the wrong lines" and that " there system is not updated yet" If you enjoy receiving threatening letters from your financial institution you could give them a try but I would STAY FAR AWAY from this credit union and it's loan products!!

Horrible customer service. They took my iteller deposit twice no problem. The 3rd time I was told I could not do this anymore No warning, no letter, no phone call. Just declined it twice. I called, the people were rude and not helpful at all. Said I should mail it. No time to mail it because I didn't know I could not deposit through iteller deposit. Can't wait to close this account. RUDE PEOPLE TOO!!

This is my "local" bank because I work downtown during the week and am in the Empire State Plaza daily. Their hours are convenient, they always have several tellers waiting to help with normal banking deposits and withdrawals (and several others who help with things like loans and such), and they are all super friendly. SEFCU handled my car loan and my home mortgage and both processes went super easy. The only downside to this location is that on NYS payday the place is mobbed! I avoid it that day whenever possible.

Staff at this bank are very helpful and friendly. Despite the fact that they must have thousands of customers the tellers recognize you and seem to know who you are before you even tell them.
