Absolutely hate this place. Currently living here and it SUCKS. Do not send your kids here! Horrible food along with neglecting basic things like going outside makes me want to go home more than anything.

I’m not commenting as someone who’s been here, more so on the behalf of a good friend who was here and tormented enough to cause 25 years worth of trauma. My friend was 16 almost 17 when she went to St Anne’s and constantly experienced AND witnessed the most horrific, cruel and vial things you could possibly imagine. The staff are 100% incapable of doing their job, even in the slightest bit. Immaturity among staffing is very common here, not to mention that the units are basically ran by the residents. And the insane levels of bullying that occurs here, from both staff and residents. I’d leave a 0 if possible. Just please, on the behalf of YOUR children, do not even consider this place. If you want your children safe and taken care of, St Anne’s is NOT the place to go. EVER!

I have a younger sister who has autism that stayed at Homeless Runaway shelter. (My aunt- unaware of what was to unfold-assumed no harm would come from a place named ST. ANNE) If you love your child, do not send them here.St Anne’s model in simple , keep a minor in the shelter long enough to squeeze every last dollar from the system, then leave the child high and dry.The staff here will encourage the minor to turn against their parent / guardian and get CPS involved because of arguments. Literally. No actual abuse or neglect, just arguments. So CPS (which will hopefully be dismantled and defunded in the future) opened a case on my aunt, is going on their predictable power trips and turning over every rock. Because why not right ?Sorry bout that rabbit trail , back to St. Annes. The staff spoiled my sister by letting her bend all rules, be truent from school, not provide proper medical, therapy, psychiatrist or any substantial treatment. And now she doesn’t want to go home. Because they give her cake ice cream , stay up late , let her go online whenever, just wild!Let her own family do that for her. (Which they have) They encourage my autistic sister to stay with them. Its just plain creepy. No, It’s like a horror movie, like “The Hand That Rocks The Cradle”, or any movie where the psychopath wants to slowly replace the mom/wife.I have no reason to lie I don’t even live in NY but it needs to be said because it may save someone from having to deal with this kind of corruption that is literally the definition of child exploitation.I am this close to calling the FBI.

if i could rate this place a hard 0 i would. i just got out of this place on Monday and let me tell you. i was a resident here for 45 days and was on seton. the amount of stuff that has happened is just unreal. the food is nasty, its extremely understaffed, the residents run the unit, untrained and highly unprofessional staff, nothing to do, the fire alarm was constantly pulled by residents, kids running and going missing for weeks and some never came back and of course they did nothing about it, fights and drama all day everyday. there was only a handful of staff that i liked and most of them were fired. this place is so bad i knew a staff who quit her first day on the job. the school here is bad too. do NOT go here im warning you.

Please DO NOT SEND your children here. They steal the kids personal items and the kids awol daily due to ZERO activities provided for them. The kids are not allowed outside and they live in a prison like environment. If you LOVE YOUR KIDS, do not send them here.

Working here is a joke. Everybody wanna be all up in your business instead minding their own. Very unprofessional place to work. Very rude and inconsiderate staff. Don’t try to do anything beneficial for the kids because the older staff members will get jealous and start drama.

Yeah so I was in this terrible establishment in 1994.. I was first place there for one year to see if I was going to be able to move back with my family, which never happened nevertheless in the meantime they treated me so poorly I was jumped because I was white the African American staff treated me so poorly I'm trying to remember the one woman's name who made my life so horrible... God I wish I remembered her name I know if I ever saw her I'd be able to look her in her eyes and tell her how she made me feel as a 13-year-old little girl... Anyway after all the abuse and getting jumped andputting the in the infirmary and nobody ever caring or asking about me I finally put baby powder in the fire alarm so all the doors would unlock and I can go AWOL... Don't ever send your kids here and if you do get sent here it's only downhill from there... I do remember a little bit about the one staff member that made my life hell she hated me I don't quite know why... She was tall slender short hair dark skinned she had a little bit of a lisp she didn't like white people you can clearly tell damn I wish I remembered her name but you know who you are and whoever reads this post from these years know who you are the afterlife will reflect on you

This is the worst school ever. We were deceived and told that this is a safe school, double therapy, a good curriculum. But the children run away all the time, the workers treat them disrespectfully and rudely, there is no proper therapy because there are no workers. We are very sorry that we lost time and my child at this school became worse. Thank God we took her out of there and now everything is fine with us. But my child couldn't sleep well because she was always stressed at this school. She received more emotional trauma and psychological. I haven't been able to get my documents for two months and they keep telling me Ms. Courtney's tales. The Department of Education already knows about this terrible service, but I will continue to complain. Take care of your children and look for another school where your child will really be cured and not made worse.

I was a resident here, I was on Nazareth (Naz) my unit manager was Jim! I was placed in 2000, I left in 2003! I had a couple of bad situations there (typical teenage girl rebellion) but nothing compared to my street life prior to getting placed here! I worked in the kitchen, and in the office! I was able to get caught up with all of my schooling, I was taught a lot of different life skills there! If you're willing to put in the work this place can help you! Honestly, this place saved my life! If it wasn't for this place, I wouldn't be who I am today! I am truly thankful for St Anne Institute..
