The gym is well-equipped, but it's missing a few crucial machines: a hack squat machine and a leg extension/leg curl machine. I've never been to a gym that didn't have a combo machine for leg curl/extension like this one. It's honestly a basic machine in ANY gym. The fact that this unit doesn't have them is baffling to me. My past condo gym had one, and it only had 4 machines... I'm willing to change this review if they add at least the leg extension machine, but meanwhile it's gonna be 3 stars for me.

Nate is great! Was staying at a local hotel where the facilities were less than accomodating, I walked in and Nate took care of me immediately. Great facilities :) PS this is underneath the plaza fountains, head into a building and head down to the concourse level where you'll see the massive signage for the gym.

Staff is always kind, attentive, and respectful. The gym has a very nice environment where I feel very comfortable, so I am motivated to go often even for very short workouts. This has really helped to improve my health. Thank you so much!

This gym is solid! The staff there are very nice and friendly. And their trainers are always willing to help with a spot or even advice. It's a pretty small gym though so it can be packed during rush hours. Despite the size, it's a diamond Jem in the rut. They have both free weights and machines if that's your thing. And cardio is on the other side of the gym. In fact, they also have a tanning room but I never really go to the gym for that. And to top it off, they make protein shakes. Sometimes they give out sample if they over make them

Incredibly frustrating customer service experience. I signed up and used the gym between October 2019 and March 2020. The staff was friendly and I had no issues during that period. The gym shut down between roughly March and September due to COVID. At the end of August, knowing they were set to reopen, I tried to call and cancel my membership since I am immunocompromised and was instructed by doctors to continue avoiding public places and the gym in particular. I called repeatedly over the course of about 3 days and received no answer from the Albany location. I then tried calling the Colonie location on September 1st and finally reached someone who said they could help me. I asked to cancel my account and was told the ONLY way to do so was to go to my home gym (the location that was unreachable by phone) in person. I explained my health situation, offered to produce a doctor's note, and asked the associate if she could send me cancellation paperwork that I could email or mail in. The employee apologized and said the only thing she could do was freeze my account, saying "let's hope things are better by December" so I could go in and cancel in person. I did not actually agree to the freeze, but after our phone call was sent paperwork (signed on my behalf!) saying my account had been frozen for 3 months.Nearing the end of said freeze and having just been charged a $50 annual fee this past week while my account was frozen, I called again and spoke with the general manager, who told me that it IS in fact possible to cancel a membership via mail. I explained to the manager that I was explicitly told that was not an option when I called in September, even after explaining my health risks and offering to provide a doctor's note. The manager proceeded to cancel my account (seemed easy enough, after all). She didn't charge me a cancellation fee- much appreciated- which is standard practice in the industry when a doctor's note is provided. However, she refused to refund me the $50 annual fee that I was charged AFTER the employee in September refused to allow me to cancel my account by mail. I explained that I wanted a refund because I never would have incurred that fee had I been given accurate information about my cancellation options back in September. The general manager did not hear me out but instead repeatedly told me the fee was "nonrefundable" (as if it was somehow IMPOSSIBLE to refund the fee when clearly she has the power to do so). She then told me it "wasn't worth getting worked up over a gym membership." Easy to say when it's not your money, I guess. Also incredibly patronizing and rude.So all in all, I paid TWO $50 annual fees when I only used their facilities for about 4.5 months and spent a great deal of time and energy making phone calls trying to cancel my account to no avail. I wish the management would realize that customers DO in fact understand the terms of their contracts but also expect businesses to provide adequate customer service and take responsibility for their mistakes. If you can't manage to answer your phones or train your employees to understand your own cancellation procedures, then don't refuse to refund fees that would never have been incurred had you provided adequate customer service.

Big warning to anyone that wants to use this gym, especially if you don't have a lot of expendable income. I was pressured to sign an electronic agreement without any details verbalized (ultimately my fault, I should've read it but felt rushed). When I quit the gym during Covid I was charged for 3 months which was difficult at the time on a grad student's salary but hey I signed the agreement (before a pandemic that makes communal activities so dangerous). I was just charged $50 a few days before Christmas- assuming an end of the year fee. Now I've paid more than $100 without having stepped foot in that place since January 2020 (and having had already canceled my account). Beware! All the machines are the same as planet fitness but PF doesn't string you along financially for 9 months after you leave.
