I come here multiple times when I’m visiting friends in Albany and almost every time I see unequal treatment in this store. This time though, just racism. I see an old women supervisor and another supervisor next to this old women, telling this young lady (asian) that works there as an associate what to do and not do and even what to wear!! Seriously?? I can’t imagine how it’s like for her, she seems like the only Chinese working there as well. I should not be overhearing things but really??? This old women telling this young lady that she’s wearing something that shows skin??? EXCUSE ME, she’s wearing an all black business casual outfit with LONG sleeves and dress pants and you’re telling her she’s showing skin??? Meanwhile there’s this other associate working there with a top and leggings … And by the way, this young lady is just the sweetest associate I’ve seen around, I hope she doesn’t quite this place. But the JCPenney here, at Crossgates of course, is just toxic.

Shopping with my daughter for business casual clothes. Some decent stuff but only really large or small sizes. Racks had mixed stuff and not in size order. Made finding stuff difficult. Not many associates too help. Really kind of disappointing

Great products for the big and tall. I ordered two shirts from shams line they were better quality then I expected ans the fit was comfortable. I'd shop with JC Penney again

Absolutely horrible look like a deranged garage sale and when I ask people for help every person I spoke to said they didn't work in that department and there was only one cashier who had a line of about five long with oodles of things I prefer a different JCP location then the one at Crossgates Mall

Stopped in to see what was new in the home department, due to the home sale. They have hardly anything most of its online only.

It is so very sad watching this place decay and die. Burned through too many CEOs and execs with no plan or vision, let alone a clue.
The store is in disrepair, so be very cautious that you don't trip on wonky flooring and transitions or cut yourself on damaged fixtures. Don't expect anything to be displayed in a way that will make the product look appealing; merchandising means nothing here. This is not the place to come in search of selection or variety. The only way you're going to get a good price is to sign your life away on a high interest credit card or cross your fingers for a coupon. And good luck finding an employee.
Anyway, that was my experience when I stopped by to shop for shoes. I spent my money elsewhere as is evident many other people are also doing.

Crossgates JC Penny staff member Grace was pleasant, helpful and professional. The store looked better than I have seen it look in a while. She didn't just stand at the counter, she actually would walk the store and arrange merchandise, all while keeping an eye on the register. Great employee!

I love JCPenney!! And really miss having one close by,ours closed quite a while ago. I have to travel some distance to shop there but it's ALWAYS worth it!!
