This has been one of the best stores I have shopped with since I first saw there rise in Schenectady were I grew up and have been good friends with the owner Ryan ever since. He always make sure that I am getting the very best value out of my sales to him or the games that I buy from him, and if I ask he will show me the con-going competitive rates across multiple store markets compared to his.Highly recommend this store to anyone looking for high value and worth of time

Imagine, if you will, you're sitting next to a campfire with two friends. On your left sits Optimus Prime, and to your right is Captain America. You listen to their war stories, each tale spun is more compelling and dramatic than the last. Suddenly and with the grace of Napoleon Dynamite on a newly waxed floor, Danny DeVito emerges from the trees -- and he is not alone: he brought weed and marshmallows. He smiles, you nod. Everyone smirks with a hint of the giggles. That's what it's like to shop at Jay St. Video Games. Superior staff, superior product. Five stars. 11/10 would recommend and will do business with again.

Loads of awesome stuff. Great selection of games and collectibles. Good fair prices. Staff is nice. Knowledgeable and helpful. Can give great recommendations for a new game to play. Highly recommend for all your nerdy needs and geeky gets. Always getting in new things and fun little nostalgia boost every time I visit for older toys and figures too.

Amazing staff and great prices! They always beat every other game store by at least 10 to 20 percent. Absolutely incredible. Jen and Matt were very helpful in supporting my search for a colorful 3DS. And they suggested great games, too!

Excellent shop that's been around for quite some time. They give you far more than Gamestop or another place for your trade-ins, not to mention their prices and selection are amazing. Always able to find what I'm looking for and more. Staff is brilliant and helpful. Love shopping here!

I had a fantastic experience at this game store. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, helping me find the perfect games for my nephews and nieces. They had a great selection, and the atmosphere was very inviting. I'll definitely be coming back for all my gaming needs. Highly recommend!

One of the most professionally run, family friendly game stores in the capital region (probably in all of New York State). The owner, Ryan, is constantly updating his merchandise to cater to the needs of the community. He cares about the community tremendously, and I would continue to shop here even if the only things he sold were his own toenails. Do yourself a favor and stop by, if not to make an actual purchase, then to see how to start and grow a thriving business.

Amazing store! The last time I visited I didn't even have to say a word. As I walked into the store I was waved up to the counter and handed a bag. I looked in the bag and it was the exact vintage transformer I had been looking for. Before I could even ask how they knew what I was looking for, Jay Street ( the owner)came out of the back and put his finger on my lips to shush me."We just know." Is all he said.when I opened my wallet to pay, there was already a receipt and the exact change from the item i had purchased. Truly crazy experience....

I have been a long time customer of this establishment. I have enjoyed my time there and the interactions I have had with staff. The staff is always very helpful and friendly. I often stop in here for gifts and to browse the large selection of games and items. This is my favorite game store in the capital region and I will always be a loyal customer. I am so glad this business has continued to succeed where others have not and I truly hope it remains for a very long time.

I don’t go to the mall much, but when i do, i ALWAYS have to stop into jay st to see whats new. The owner of the shop, and his workers, always have the best attitudes. Everyone is so polite and Ryan’s shop definitely has some cool collections! He is an independent shop owner who takes all sorts of items, from old video games, to game systems, to collectable items; and he isn’t a big corporation who is stealing your money. You go buy a game at game stop and it costs $30, if you need to return it, you won’t get even half of that money back. Shop local business owners, not corporations.

If you want to be offered 11 percent of what your clean vintage games are worth go here while other stores 40 yo 70 percent of what they will sell them for. Then they talk down and say how your stuff is not valuable yet they are selling everything 20 to 50 percent higher then every other game store.

I was in on Sunday and found a N64 game in box I was interested in purchasing after getting a price on it which was $210(most games have no price) I was ready to purchase it until I noticed a little sign next to the register stating credit card buyer would be charged an extra 4%. When I asked the young lady about it she said yes that's what we charge. According to NYS DEPARTMENT OF CONSUMER PROTECTIONS it isn't legal to do this. Businesses are not allowed to advertise a price and add a surcharge at the point of sale when a consumer elects to pay with a credit card. When I informed the young lady about this she got extremely rude. I showed her the site. she said "your wrong dude" I would never shop here based on the attitude of the employee.

Jay St. Video Games is a video game store that specializes in selling vintage video games and pop culture items. Also, they sell new video games, movie posters, and collectibles. Bearing in mind, this Jay St. location is extremely small and is not as good as their other locations. I personally find a lot of the stuff here cool and I love vintage games, but the prices are ridiculous. A lot of these games cost well over $20 and some are over $100. The old PlayStation 2 games are about $20 a piece and I can buy them online for half that. In similar fashion, the brand new video games usually cost more here than anywhere else, I suggest going to GameStop instead. I would also like to mention that the employees here are usually rude and treat the customers poorly. However, this Jay St. does have a lot of classic movie posters and large variety of vintage games even if they are overpriced. Once and for all, Jay St. is fine vintage game store, but it's expensive and the employees are rude.

A cool little store selling used and new video games, consoles, and toys that "Nerds" would think are pretty cool. At least I thought that they were pretty cool. I wanted a specific SNES title and they had it in stock. It cost a lot more than I could have bought it for on EBay, but I am inexperienced with buying used 25-year-old games and wanted a warranty. The game came with a 7 day one (a bit short, if you ask me) but when I got it home it worked fine.
