I’m new to Albany and I have natural hair. I’m always so skeptical about who does my hair and cautious about using heat on it. My friend highly recommended coming here and I have absolutely no regrets! This hair salon is amazing!! They do not just do hair, they take care of your hair! All my pictures came out great because they did their magic. With proper maintenance this style lasts all week and everyday I get compliments. Do yourself a favor and get your hair taken care of by THIS hair salon. I promise whatever event you have, they will make you look gorgeous. They are also very professional, really kind, and the place is super clean.

The staff are lazy and the owner is left to do most jobs by herself so you will sit for atleast 4-6 hours for a hairstyle that takes about an hour maybe hour and a half. The staff also need to learn to speak English so they can communicate with customers. The staff need training because you just can't wash someone's hair, blowdry, or flatiron for 45 mins to an hour until the owner is ready to take over because that staffmember is limited in skills. It is not a good idea to visit this salon. I would NOT recommend this business to ANYONE. There are much better salons in the area.

Embarrassingly horrible service. The stylist is either incompetent or horrible at their job on purpose. Charging outrageous prices for heat damaged hair and subpar hairstyles. Deserves 0 stars don't go here!

If I could give 0 star, I would. I went to this shop in October 2023 for a dye and a trim on my natural curly kinky hair. I left with a dye, trim, and stinky overprocessed hair.Three weeks later, I call Jackie up and informed her that my hair was not reverting back to its natural state and I believed she gave me heat damaged. She insisted that it wasn't. She stated that my hair texture would not revert. I told her that's the definition of heat damaged.Now it's 2months later, and I went to get a consult elsewhere, and found out that she put a chemical in my hair(that is why it still stinks) and she did not do the second step, which is why my hair breaks right off by just touching it.To make matters worst, she refused to admit that she damaged my hair.If you have 4C type hair, here is your warning, do not go to this salon if you wants yo keep your hair on your head. Learn from my unfortunate situation.

This is a great Dominican salon on central ave but due to language barriers I always struggle to communicate especially when it comes to what I exactly want and the cost.They advertised a sale but for some reason my total was double for blow out and cut and I have short hair lol but it was still good so I didn’t bother to complain ?Owner is super sweet and really tries her best to accommodate. I still loved my hair but just remember when you go there if you don’t speak Spanish might be difficult but you will get service because they really try to accommodate.This is my third time there and they still renovating but my other review was still good because I review on outcome, service and both were great.

Love this place usually, especially times with the owner but most recent time my hair has been burnt when owner wasn’t there and still continues to smell burnt days after. I didn’t think to ask for heat protection but assumed it would be okay to professionals if they’re not worried either.Completely altered my curl pattern at the root to flat when I tried to wash out the smell. Giving it time to heal but will stick with a wash and cut only for now. Would recommend but be sure to ask for specific products and heat protection if they don’t do so automatically. Otherwise, everything else is wonderful and taken cared of!Services: Shampoo & conditioning

I am new to the area and struggled to find a hairdresser. I chose Jaquelines because of all the great reviews and personal touch the shop provides. The reviews were spot on. I can’t say thank you enough. I will definitely return in hopes to see the miracles these ladies can produce on my poor little damaged hair from previous hairdressers!
