Be aware that the Managers special includes EVs and that if you won’t take one you will be up charged. My bill went from 1500 to almost 2000. I filed a complaint with Hertz corporate and surprise, no response. Also, the 2 staff people who “helped” us were not helpful at all and seemed very uninterested in providing any kind of service. I rent for a month every summer in Albany and I will never come here again.!

As an former employee. I drove cars and lost my 1,2000 dollar phone. After Kyle the manager in Albany lied about retrieving my property I called HR and reported it. Less than a week I was terminated because they said I brought weed on the property here in NY. Thing is I had tobacco and not weed. Yet 2 months ago that same manager Kyle from Albany NY helped and allowed employees to look for an ounce of weed on the company 12 screen security system because his weed was stolen and Kyle knew personally himself that they had brung weed on company property.
Nobody was fired. How can a manager allow himself or others bring weed and allow another to bring weed on the property but fire me for a cigar. They don't know that in court that is a easy case to see. He is probably a former fiend because of his anger issues. They most likely need to be sued for this. They asked me before clocking out if I had a joint sarcastically because I thought the Manager Kate was my friend i said yes but didn't think she believed when i said even after showing her it was tobacco.
Yet she used it against me and again even though I opened up my cigar to show the tobacco they still terminated me. Save your money for if you ever heard how these managers and others there speak about customers is never positive or comfortable. I believe they are being ripped off especially if they willing to wrongly terminate one for some many others do. Now you now why the cars smell like weed. I would like to see the evidence that I was smoking and brought weed on property, so the only way would be is to sue them for $500,000.00 for slander/defamation and $500,000.00 for wrongful termination. Then maybe they will be more of a transparent human with integrity, kindness, patience and love.
I forgot to mention I knew something was wrong when coworkers started drinking alcohol on the job, they little stash spots in the booths and if you're close enough you just may smell alcohol on the breath I know I did and from who. Them lips be watery yet I knew of their plan to terminate me and warned them. They never showed me evidence or proof in fact it was investigated all the way from FL ....impossible. So the only way to justify this is give me my job back or less than a year from no show me in District Civil Court the proof and evidence. And remember if they argue with you is because they are probably high or drunk.
I remember a senior staff was so drunk she couldn't help us drive cars and another employee was so high he hit another car in the garage yet they still have their jobs. As for my Samsung Galaxy 22Ultra it was looked for and my business, social security and bank accounts have been hacked. Kyle told me that it was company policy not to call customers to look for my phone but corporate said different not just that but they have called customers before, just not for me. Again when I remembered i watched and observed the General manager using company time and equipment monitors and computer to look for Marijuana. I then asked Both District manager Lauren Night (residing in FL) and General of Albany Ny Manager Kyle and received dead silence on the phone.
They have made the worst decision ever. Shalom and be safe, thank for reading my review. It's not over yet, I will follow up with the conclusion even if it takes 2 years.

I don't understand all of the negative reviews for this location. The two guys that are always there are always very friendly and try their best to get you in and out as quickly as possible (though they are sometimes held up by difficult customers). I do think they could benefit from someone else helping clean the cars while they take care of customers, but sometimes they are understaffed and need to do both. I go to this location often for work trips, and they are never out of cars. They also let me park my car in the back of the parking lot unlike other locations. It makes it much easier to pick up my rental without needing a ride to get there. That is why it's my go to location, and I would recommend it to anyone.

When I arrived, the car wasn't ready it was dirty inside and out, smelled strongly of marijuana. The fuel tank was just over half full, I told the employee about it he replied they don't really care about fuel amounts, bring it back how it was is fine. I took pictures before leaving and refueled before returning. Despite this, they charged me $123 for fuel. The manager falsely promised to resolve it when I came back to tell them about the charge. Then after returning a second time they told me to contact corporate; they were unhelpful and unwilling to fix it. I've disputed the charge with my credit card. In short, avoid renting from this place they're unprofessional and deceptive.

I paid. They had the money. I arrived to pick up car. "We can't give it to you because you're under 25 with a debit". Could have notified me when I ordered it and filled in that information. At least they gave me a number to get a refund

Having rented from this Hertz location around ten times, I have had both positive and negative experiences. The good: the cars were always in good condition and they worked. I got to experience a variety of car models. The worst was when they pushed electric cars. I often chose a cheaper rental option and for a while this always meant being offered an electric car --- or having to pay a substantial difference to get a conventional car.The Teslas were never charged to 80%, the level recommended by the manufacturer, let alone 100%. The most I got from Hertz was 64% and it was take it or leave it. I took it and it was quite bad. I had to cut my trip short and when I finally got back to a charging station the charge was down to 4%; the car was flashing warnings every minute or so.Charging to the recommended 80% level would have made a difference.Another time, being aware of the cars' short range and of the difficulty in finding a Tesla charging station, I asked for an adapter, to recharge the car myself, including overnight --- only to be told that they ran out of adapters. For context, the car they were offering me was charged at 45%. Again, it was take it or leave it.Presumably, when renting a Tesla from Hertz, I am supposed to have my own adapter and go right away and charge it, on my own time. Batteries not included. This was very passive aggressive and clearly meant to push me into selecting a pricier option. At least once I gave in and rented a much more expensive car, so this tactic worked. To their defense, perhaps in the US it is customary to tip when renting a car (no idea), which I did not. Or maybe my mistake was paying in advance.Anyway, they only cared about upselling and/or getting tipped (again, no idea). One salesperson, in particular, threw me really dirty glances and treated me like dirt.I guess that renting a car is meant to be a chore, because in the US one only does it in the absence of any other option, and then they squeeze you for all they can, while making clear that they are doing you a favor.

I would place a negative review if I could. I hate placing negative reviews, but this was a terrible experience. This rental was booked for me through a third party, due to a lack of rental cars at the original location. When I arrived, the store smelled terribly of marijuana inside. I chalked this up to its location (next to a smoke shop.) When I was introduced to the rental, the worker asked if it was clean enough, or if they needed to clean it. I felt obligated to say it was fine at the moment. After entering the vehicle, I realized that the entire vehicle reeked of marijuana. I tried to ignore it, as they were closing soon and I had somewhere to be. Within the next hour, I returned to the store to return it. The smell was so intense that it was giving me a headache. When I returned the keys, I went to get in my friends car that was parked towards the back of the parking lot. Parked next to my friend's car was a truck, with two drugged-out individuals passed straight out. I ended up alerting the authorities because I was concerned for their welfare and those around them if they were to drive away. The overall situation was unsettling, and when I called the next day to report the condition of the vehicle, I was informed that the third party would still be charged for the day. No apologies, or explanations. Save yourself time and peace; do not go to this store; go to any other rental company.

If you want to rent with hertz, go with Albany airport but not this place.Unprofessional customer service, communication issues made the experience subpar. Improvement is needed. The guy at the front desk was extremely rude, hostile and very unprofessional. The guy was wearing sunglasses inside the store was extremely disrespectful and had a hostile tone from the start. He was very poor in communicating effectively about the inventory. Of all the decade of experience with renting from hertz, this was by far the worst. He needs proper customer service training and hertz should reprimand him to retain customers.Thankfully Albany airport hertz location has helped with no problem.

First, we paid $500 for a full size sedan. Hertz gave us a nationally recognized mid size sedan, which they call full size so that's just how it is. A little bait and switch. Secondly, the car was filthy so they gave us a small SUV. It was also filthy and I spent about an hour getting the rental after helping clean the vehicle just to get it to OK status. The young man that helped us was Hertz only redeeming quality. He was great and helped us as much as he could. See attached photos.
