Worst service ever! I maybe wanted to get a dog, I really liked one of the dogs they have. And I very kindly asked to the young and non polite girl taking care of the business if it was possible to see the dog. Her way of talking and understand any concept of sales and having some empathy with the customer was 0%. If thats the way they work who knows the way they take care of the lovely dogs they have! She should be working there!

absolutely awful. neglect of reptiles and other small animals. Around 100 feeder rats in a 40 gallon tank. Reeks of animal urine. They get puppies from “local” well known puppy mills including amish puppy mills central NY. not sure how this place is still open. It’s BBB rating reflects the quality.

Just Killin time in the mall, walked in to look at the animals when I spotted this adorable high energy little bearded dragon. The staff was super knowledgeable about him and knew what I absolutely needed in order to take him home. I figured I could find an aquarium really cheap on line. So I asked if I could pay for him and comeback in a day or two. Found an aquarium, and picked up our little Rango the next day. Glad we stopped in !!!

I purchased a hedgehog from here, the staff supposedly (knew everything about them) and the living conditions for it where HORRIBLE p*** everywhere old food the wrong light etc. When we got him they shoved him and p*** litter in the box. Would not recommend this place ever the animal cruelty is horrid.

The employees are incredibly rude. They think of themselves as being essentially a designer brand. If you look too broke they will not let you see an animal because “you’re obviously not in the market for a $4k dollar animal.” You can find a better pure bred pet for half the price from an ethical breeder. I would recommend not paying double for a puppy mill animal lol

animal cruelty central- do not buy anything here especially the Axolotls! They are kept in tiny bowls without filters and wrong temp water. It’s filthy and inhumane. Their gills are almost nonexistent now and multiple have diseases. The ones that don’t will surely die soon due to horrid water conditions and stress

Place was terrible! Puppies were in literal tanks…. Like the glass ones for BUNNIES! smelt like straight heifer in there. The dogs were literally so dirty and looked malnourished. Bedding was actual newspaper? That’s terrible. Actually cried in that store. Even the pet store in crossgates mall cares about the animals more than that.

Very disgusted and feel sad for the dogs. They are outrageously priced. They currently have a almost 18 week old puppy. asking 2,000 dollars. I mentioned that she is almost 5 months old and that's extremely expensive for a puppy. Manager just cares about a extra buck and not the puppy that's been sitting there almost 6 weeks (alone day in and out sitting in a cage). All staff is pleasant and helpful, except for manager. They should reevaluate having her around. Better off going to a shelter or Want ad digest has similar breeds for half the price.

Horrible animal husbandry. All reptiles in the store are kept in inhumane enclosures that do not fit the animals needs. No UVB and incorrect heating elements. Very poor quality of life. I can’t imagine how many die in these conditions or shortly after going home with someone.

Lack of proper care for animals. Hamsters housed with multiple other hamsters. (Certain breeds can not live together and need to be housed solo)Lack of pet food-no food for the tarantulas so they are feeding it baby mice. Meanwhile other mice are eating the mother to death. The worker decided to show this off to customers.. this is unacceptable. Adopt please don’t shop. Especially from a mall pet store. They have no regards towards life.

I went into pet city because I thought one could adopt dogs from them. I was utterly shocked, they have at least 5-6 puppies in tiny glass boxes with newspapers as insulation. They were clearly stressed with nowhere to move and people staring at them from all angles. Honestly, I was very saddened. I did not expect this. I urge people to please adopt dogs and not to buy from them. When you buy from them, you are telling them what they are doing is right and it clearly isn’t. Imagine your pet as being a part of this cycle. It is honestly sad. There are plenty of shelters in the greater capital region that have puppies if you are looking for them, you just have to look. Please don’t endorse this.

Love it here! There are so many adorable animals who you can tell are well taken care of in a clean and friendly environment. Each time I wish to purchase a new pet, this is where I go.
