Loved the store. Clean is the first word that comes to mind. Light the second. Often used book stores smell weird, are dusty, and are dark. All the opposite for Dove & Hudson.Nice selection of books, in great condition. The person at the counter was great.Bonus: clean restrooms.

A hidden gem, steps away from Lark Street and the State Capitol. This venue is easy to identify as it’s located at a corner. This venue is accessible to those with special transportation needs, or a baby in tow. This store has an open, minimalist aesthetic, and a selection of new and used books. I bought the book I wanted in an ideal condition and for a great price. I will return in the future and I recommend you visit too.

Something for everyone, great selection, and it’s a nice touch that the owner gives you “Dove & Hudson Dollars” for future purchases! A great local bookstore.

I love this place with all my heart. You can find almost every book you’ve ever wanted here. Many of them look as though they’ve never been touched. Most copies I pickup are under $7. Hardcovers are more expensive of course but only $10-12 on average. Beats the original price anyways so you really cannot complain. Every $10 you spend you receive a purple dollar that you can use towards your next purchase!!!!

Cute little bookstore near lark street. They have a great selection and usually some free books outside. It's a lovely spot, conveniently near many restaurants and shoppes. Just keep in mind with alternate parking it can be hard to find a good spot. It's definitely worth taking a look.I look forward to perusing their selection in depth soon!

Dove & Hudson's owner's not a conversationalist. Other than that, the book shop is fine. There are separate section like geography or biology. The books are brand new and are therefore priced above what you would pay at another book store. Prices are steep. There is no place to sit. It is hot inside this corner wood-shack. Overall, Dove is well laid out, tidy but very predictable. I found no 'old' books, or 'second hand' books or 'well-thumbed' books: just crisp, shiny books bought someplace else and now being sold at Dove for $5-10 more! The owner - slouched back in a easy-chair - was licking his fingers turning pages of a magazine. I tried talking to the geezer: this individual must have had his mouth full of 'gorilla glue'. Comment: talk to the customers if you want to sell. Review: 3

Dove & Hudson is a true gem. The friendly, knowledgeable staff will help you with any questions that you have regarding these well-curated shelves. Used books in great shape and overstock books for very fair prices. This store is a must-stop for readers.

One of my favorite book stores ever! Amazing books, fair price (which is rarely the case), nice feeling, friendly people. This type of places are precious nowdays!
