This Dollar General near Mt. Zion Baptist in Albany on Route 32 was a bad experience. On Google, this place has a 3.9 rating (out of 5) but that is a mirage. Just like being inside this Dollar General! Shelves were sold/ransacked. Popped-open bags of chips strewn on the floors. Homeless people were sleeping, setting up shop, begging on the sidewalk. Kids were knocking into shelves. Infants shrieking. All baskets were gone. When I checked out - after waiting for 8 mins, while sweaty half-dressed groups with 6 kids, brought wagon loads to the front - the cashier man did not know how to scan the barcode. Each item I came in for, was out. Except for the margarine; and even the margarine that I bought tasted rancid. Review: 1

Would give zero stars if I could. Showed up at 8:15 on Saturday 9/2. Exit my vehicle to immediately be screamed at by an “employee”… “we not open, none my stuff gonna scan, my other employee didn’t show up, come back in 15 mins!” Then yells something else out her mouth as I’m walking back to my car(this I thankfully did not hear or I would have gave her an ear full). This “employee” should be terminated. She is a horrible representation of the company. I’ve been to plenty of other DGs they will let you shop around while they are getting set up in the morning. This employee should NOT be working in customer service clearly! Get another job hunny, oh or was that the only one you could find!?

This particular Dollar General literally opens and closes when the employees see fit! Literally closes randomly mid day all the time. The inconsistencies can't be good for business or their name! It's extremely frustrating to take a ride to a particular store in the middle of day and they have a hand written sign on the door saying closed! This has happen more than 5 or 6 times so obviously it's common event. Don't waste your time or gas!!

Would give half a star if I could. Avoid this store if possible. The employees are miserable & make customers miserable and don't care.

When I went to this store to purchase some cigarettes the cashier insisted that I had a fake $10 bill. I tried explaining to her that the bill was real and her marker is darker because it was a yellow $10 bill. Even a few customers had agreed with me on the situation. She didn't listen to any of us and kicked me out of the store. Well I just left the bank and they reassured me that my $10 bill was real. I'm absolutely disgusted. Please train your cashiers how to properly check and mark ten dollar bills especially.Thank you.Tuesday July 19th @ 2:48pm

There are a couple of worker's that need to keep their mask on their face not on the chin coughing not covering their mouths and it should be mandatory for all customer's to wear masks as well everyone safety is important

I stopped in a few days before Christmas and couldn't even get down the aisle. there were so many dollies full of merchandise in all the aisle that I needed to go in. There was absolutely no way to see anything in at least 5 different sections of the store. It was my first time in that location and I was very disappointed.

I go here occasionally, mostly for food shopping and it surprises me how good the prices and quality there is. Even in the other sections of the store everything should sum up to a nice price. Also the workers all give off good vibes and the atmosphere between them is non-toxic.

About the best thing to say concerning DG is the employees. Especially a young lady named Unique she always greets you and asks how you're doing and truly seems concerned about you. All the employees there are friendly and helpful. The problem is the area the DG is in. Too many folk looking for a "5finger discount" and not caring about keeping the neighborhood clean creates a depressed situation which will unfortunately lead to less customers and maybe even closing the store.

I was very sad qhen our Rite Aid closed and am a little embarrassed to admit how much i love our new Dollar General. Its almost like having a supermarket in the neighborhood. And the folks who work there on the weekend are all like genuinely joyful. They have something of everything... but its pandemic time so some things (or, one thing, Fancy Feast!) may be sold out when ypu visit. (2021 is an endless quest for Fancy Feast)
