They did not allow me to purchase a longer term warranty for the vehicle after the sale was completed and I had a chance to digest the rigors of the sale day. I was refused that opportunity and told to look elseware for a service contract by the information desk. I had paid for the vehicle by check in full a month ago.

Conbersome, very invasive, frustrating. They have a 2 car per day test drive policy which they don't tell you about ahead of time. Would not accept my printed copies of my documents wanted me to go on their computer and log into my personal accts. So they could print off the same documents they had in front of them. Left the store after 3 hours then tried to do express pick up for them to tell me they would accept the one document for proof of residency but not for income. Wanted to gave on document full account number. No matter who you talk yo get different answers. Would not reccomrbd buying from them. If I could give zero stars I would

Always a good experience, purchased three vehicles each from different Carmax locations. Read their site or call to ask what docs to bring in order to leave that day with your new vehicle. At this site, the rep that assisted us was great. We appreciated his help and patience through our deciding/buying process.

Always a nice place to look around at various vehicles, they leave them open so that you can sit inside and check them out, and nobody bothers you, nice place with clean bathrooms and good atmosphere.

I consider myself to be an organized person. I knew the vehicle I wanted, but more importantly, I had all of my documentation ready to go. I signed up for Express Service so that I could get in and out. I paid cash for my car....
...and it still took 5.5 hours over two days to get all of my paperwork processed and to finally leave with the vehicle we had selected.
I liked the fact that they had a large selection and no haggling on the price, but the slow throughput....I don't see how the business model works. I cannot imagine the average customer being as straight-forward as my situation. But I could be wrong.

A total disaster. We were given misinformation, didn't interact with the same person every time, and they promised to get me a second key fob because I should have gotten it free in the first place but now they're dodging fulfilling their promise. I would never recommend carmax to anyone.

I purchased an SUV and had a trade in vehicle. The people at CarMax were attentive and efficient. I really appreciated not needing to haggle. After I left the dealership, I notice a small plastic part missing from the car. I called the dealership and they were great about replacing the part quickly at no cost to me.
