We switched to Canyon Crossroads shortly after moving to cedar crest and could not be happier with our decision. Staff is always kind, attentive and helpful. Communication is great. They cared for our senior pup Mela through her last few months, helping us making the toughest decision when it was time. And they also care for our cat who joined us recently and unexpectedly. The docs take their time and sit with you, never feeling rushed or ignored. An amazing veterinary clinic

The front desk is always so helpful and I’m able to get my pups in within a timely manner. So thankful to have found a vet that it’s such caring, accommodating, and conscientious staff and practitioners. I live in Albuquerque and it’s still so worth the drive.

We are so thankful for Canyon Crossroads! The staff has provided amazing care for our fur babies, from routine checkups and vaccines to surgeries and teeth extractions, and helping our family dog cross the rainbow bridge when it was his time. The vets, vet techs, and front desk staff are all nothing short of incredible; having the peace of mind that our pups are always well cared for is invaluable.

Today, The Vets at Canyon Crossroads helped my best friend Kiwi get to the Rainbow Bridge. I was so devastated, I don't remember if I thanked them for their empathy and kindness. Thank you❤️

Never again! Take my dog there for boarding and obviously due to unsanitary conditions my dog gets sick, and they want me to pay for the vet bill to have her be seen! They got her sick, so they should see her on there dime! Horrible place!
Update: typical response from them! I travel every few months and my dog has never gotten sick! Not to mention I just found dried poop on her. It’s their unsanitary boarding conditions!

They are so helpful and accommodating. Once you are a client they will do anything they can to take care of your pets. I am truly grateful for all they have done for my animals over the past few years. Would absolutely recommend them to anybody looking for a amazing vet.

No complaints thus far! This vet office has always managed to see our pets pretty quickly, allowing walk-ins for urgent care. The space is clean, employees friendly and knowledgeable, and it's in a convenient location for folks in this part of the East Mountains. We are lucky to have this place in Tijeras!
I like that the waiting room is large with plenty of seating so pets don't have to be near each other. There's a pretty cool map of confirmed pet snakebites in the area, you should check it out. They also carry the brand of special cat food that ours requires, making it easy to pick up.
I honestly can't comment on this offices' prices because I can't compare to other vet offices in NM due to this being the only one that I have used. But in my experience EVERY health problem that any of my pets has ever experienced cost me a pretty penny... Seems like breaking the bank just comes with the territory.

I've been bringing my dogs and cats to Canyon Crossroads for about 10 years now and have only good things to say. It began with another clinic that had diagnosed one of my dogs with kidney failure then told me to take her home and let her eat whatever she wants. Doing nothing to help my dog didn't sit well with me so a friend recommended I take her to Dr. Counts for a second opinion. And I'm so glad I did. Dr. Counts did a full examination, including blood work and an ultrasound of my dogs' kidneys, hospitalized her for a couple days then prescribed a course of treatment that got my beloved dog and I almost another full year of quality life together. When my younger dog hurt his back by landing wrong catching a Frisbee, I took him to Dr. Counts. She did a full exam, diagnosed him with a disc injury, and first tried treating him conservatively with meds and rest. When that wasn't working, I took him back in and we were given a referral to ANIC up in Algodones. I took my dog straight there where he underwent an MRI then surgery for a herniated disc. He recovered beautifully, and with Dr. Counts seeing him through a couple minor mishaps along the way, I was blessed to have another wonderful 7 years with him. When my old cat started acting unwell and seemed to have an issue with his mouth, I took him to Dr. Counts. She did a full exam and discovered that while he had an issue with a tooth and an infection, he'd also tested positive for Feline Leukemia. She operated on my cat, kept him hospitalized for a couple days, and he made a full recovery without any complications. Dr. Counts told me he might be able to shed the virus and I'm guessing he must have because I never had any other issues with him. He was 17 then and I got almost another full 7 years of that wacky old cat driving me nuts lol. In all seriousness, he was an awesome cat. The office staff and technicians were always friendly and helpful, good with billing, appointments, and handling my pets, and the best way I can think of to describe Dr. Counts is that she's just an incredibly good human who became a veterinarian. A long overdue thank you to Dr. Counts and staff!
