The employees here are Superheroes. Often doing 2-3 people's worth of work! My complaint is with USPS. WHY IN THE WORLD do you not PROPERLY STAFF your offices?? It's like you do it on purpose or something. Especially with how much MONEY WE PAY YOU. SHAMEFUL.

There is an older woman who works here with big curly hair and glasses. If you see her, RUN. When I came in she was belittling these two poor ladies who were trying to mail a package but kept being very rude and not explaining what they were doing wrong. She did this to the next two people in line too, being extremely nasty and not explaining anything. She expected us to know absolutely everything about the post office as if we were machines. When it was my turn, I asked to mail a package. When she asked what rate, I said "standard."Evidently this is not a correct response because she said she couldn't mail it then. I asked what options I have to which she told me to look at the old, scratched up screen in front of me. I do not visit the post office very often so I'm unsure as to which one I should pick. I asked which one was regular shipping. She snorted and told me to read it again, ignoring my question. In the meanwhile the two poor ladies are trying to get her attention to have a question answered but she told them to get to the back of the line. As she refused to answer my questions without being rude and told me she wasn't going to mail my package if I kept refusing to pick an option (even though I was trying), I asked to please give me the cheapest option. Finally I was able to ship my package. She didn't even say goodbye or have a nice day, she just screamed "NEXT!" and when I left started harassing the next person. The two ladies, who had been there since I had arrived, still had not received any help from the staff and had not yet completed their transaction either.Overall, there are two other postal service places in town. Go to those ones instead. This office apparently hires bridge trolls.

I brought three letters to mail from this post office and asked for help with the postage. A young man there didn't stamp my letter correctly and almost kept my change as well, holding $30 in the opposite hand while giving me a small portion and waiting me to leave. I had to ask for the rest of my change before he would hand it to me. It seemed very fishy at the time. I used to be a cashier and we usually don't use both hands to separately hand people different portions of their change.
One of my letters got sent back to my address for needing additional postage. I came back to the office and asked to speak with someone about my experience. Politely and carefully I described what happened and that it seemed strange that the letter got sent back even though I asked an employee to help me mail it and purchased postage from them that day to mail it correctly.
I also mentioned the incident with the change as a separate concern. The post office employee and another who was eavesdropping on our conversation promptly denied any responsibility for the letter being mailed incorrectly and said that I should've asked for them to weigh the letters. They said that they aren't mind readers. I told them that I'm a customer and didn't know the letters needed to be weighed. I asked for their help in mailing the letters and it should have included weighing if that was part of the mailing process.
Then both employees told me that I was being accusatory and that they didn't appreciate being accused. I told them I wasn't accusing anyone, just stating the facts about what happened. The letter (or letters) were mailed out incorrectly by employees at their establishment. Then they argumentatively insisted I was being accusatory and asked what I wanted of them. I said I'd like to re-mail the letter that was returned to me for inadequate postage.
Next, the employee in front of me very rudely proceeded to "help" while still remaining argumentative. Apparently , I didn't push the correct button on the screen and instead of kindly helping me she stated that it's a "two-way street" and that they "expect something from my end" in order to complete the process. I looked at the screen and it was completely blank, then back at the woman who obviously cared more about proving herself to be right than helping me remail my letter.
At this point, I decided to mail my letters from a different post office and told them thank you, but no thank you. If you are still reading this review, and if you value kind and and courteous communication between human beings, please don't come here. You'll be treated like the enemy, and not like a well-meaning customer.

The people who work here are great but why can't I check my post office box at 10 p.m.? Why is the door locked? Absolutely nothing inside that door has changed.

I ordered 2 items from Macy's for my wife's birthday to be delivered to Taos NM. We were staying there for a week. For some reason the post office said it was an undeliverable address. This was the exact description of the tracking info Latest UpdateYour item could not be delivered to the intended recipient or returned to sender. It has been disposed of by USPS.Someone at the time share we staying suggested going to USPS depot in Taos to get the packages. Why couldn't USPS have the told us to do that instead of saying they were disposed by USPS? They're system is so screwed up. What kind of customer service is that?

Best breakfast burritos in town. Go vegetarian with Christmas and pinto beans. Grab a side guac for the homies. Nothing like a federally prepared meal, service is always 100.

My mom works at a post office so I know it’s hard. But we don’t all send mail all the time we might forget something. The older lady is always rude to me no matter what. I know it’s busy time but be nice. I work in retail it’s busy time but still nice and patient

This post office is shocking dysfunctional. I am a new resident and already this Postal location has lost 3 packages. One was a fairly large rug valued at $900. I was told it was delivered to this location. I inquired 6 times. I was told it was not there. After a week of annoying visits and rude employees, except one, I was told the shipper must of cut the whole address off. I visited UPS to confirm the whole address was on the package. Another visit to 318 Paseo Pueblo N. with confirmation of the delivery address being whole and correct, a 7th attempt was made. It was shockingly Found! It was a large package, that they repeatedly told me wasn’t there. It was there the whole time. After being treated rudely and wasted a lot of my time and peace of mind, it was slapped on the counter, with a look of disgust. Unbelievable, unprofessional with rudeness. Just now received confirmation of another package being lost today. Shipper says it was delivered several weeks ago. No notifications from this Post Office of my package’s delivery. I only hope this place can figure out how to run a post office.

To be fair it’s very busy and understaffed, and Taos in general is probably not gonna have the efficient service that you’re used to. But it’s not cool to lose an (expensive) package and say “yeah we lost it, maybe it’ll turn up but I have a long line so that’s all we can do for you.” Try harder. Or at least tell me what I need to do to file an insurance claim. UghhhhThe post office really needs to hire more people for this location and get one of those automated stamp/small package machines. I think that would help everyone.
