Taos Gems & Minerals is probably the best place in Taos to stop and shop for Rocks. We stop in every trip for one reason and one reason only. The kids love Staurolite’s. The Spanish upon arrival in Taos saw these laying on the ground and believed this land to be very special. Staurolite are shaped like crosses and have Garnets in them.
Of course we have to get other minerals while here.
Make sure to stop in and Taos Gems and Minerals.

This store is absolutely awesome! If you love rocks and minerals, this is the place. I can't wait to go back. I live about an hour and a half away, but will definitely make special trips just to visit this store.

PERFECT SOUVENIR for your kids you left at grandma’s to go on vacation with your spouse! I got my son a “huge” amethyst and the price was $15!!! So many options! VERY AFFORDABLE! And you can make your own jewelry using the gems!!! The ladies that work here are so sweet as well!!! ???
