Several visits . Rude employees on the phone at the self checkout ignoring customers , rude cashier & rude uncaring manager ( jay) when issues were presented to him. Absolutely the worst vibe of any grocery store I have ever been in .

Smith's Grocery Store in Taos is a fantastic spot! It’s way better than Walmart—better selection, friendlier staff, and a much more pleasant shopping experience overall. The store is clean, well-organized, and always stocked with everything you need. Plus, the staff are super helpful and make you feel right at home. If you’re looking for a great grocery shopping experience, Smith’s is the place to go. Definitely my top choice when I’m in town!

Overcharged by $200.00 unable to speak to management, they hung up on me.

It's a Kroger in Taos. Convenient, homogenous.

TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT at the top. I've been going to Kroger since the 80s. This Smiths is the worst I've been too. The store itself functions. But the attitude of the employees is so bad that it must be a reflection of the top management. Everyone is either rude, arrogant, and confrontational, or scared, probably of their coworkers and management. Truly pathetic and sad. Too bad the have the best selection in taos. Probably why the get away with it. Corporate should really step in

Freddie's constant concern for his employees and customers' safety, even beyond boundaries, doesn't go unnoticed. His unrelenting resolve is an asset to Smiths and our community.?I've been a frequent and loyal customer of Taos Smiths for 17 years.
He's always on top of things, making sure everyone's safe and sound. Not enough folks appreciate him, but Freddie is a real gem for Smiths. Keep it up, Freddie! ?

I have been keeping my opinion to myself, however I noticed a review that is completely untrue. Freddie isn’t dangerous. If anything he has been the sweetest during my vacation in Taos. I have been in smiths more than I want to admit daily during my stay and I recall the incident that was mentioned in the previous review. That is NOT how that situation happened at all. This woman appeared to be under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. Freddie was professional and respectful about her concerns… Big and scary man? More like big and makes me secure shopping in a town I am not familiar with. I am angry that this incompetent woman would try to ruin a persons professional image based on her own mental health issues.
Ban that woman and give Freddie a raise. His image may have been tarnished and that does not sit well with me and I hope this review can restore whatever image is being perceived.
Shop at Smith’s Taos! I promise you will be glad you did!

Always a great experience when we go shopping. My daughter loves the manger and always waves and jumps in his arms when we see him I believe his name is Fred! The store is always clean and easy to find thing will go there before going anywhere else in Taos!

For the record Smiths; your Assistant Manager Freddie is dangerous. Today marks the 3rd. time this bully manager has confronted me, a customer. He was harassing two teenagers. He told them to get out of his store. They told him they were with their father. I told them to find their Dad when Freddie started pointing and yelling at me. This is a big scary man, employed at Smiths in Taos.

Panhandlers regularly congregate in this parking lot and aggressively harass shoppers for money.

Allows panhandlers to roam their parking lot bothering customers for money. I would not come back and don't like being bothered. And I'm a visitor to this state. Really a bad look.

Jason deserves a raise. The check out line at the grocery store is my least favorite place on earth. Jason makes sure I don't spend very long there. Every time I come in I look for him because he works as fast as 3 other checkers put together. Pay Jason whatever you need to keep him around. He's the reason I pick Smith's.

First time here and I was impressed with the selection of food and the quality. The fresh sushi was very good.
